Even though Caleb was on bed rest, he's still working with few documents in his company and the Etrama Company as one of Kaisley's advisers. Although Kaisley has a lot of advisers, it's better if she would seek advice from her husband.
"Babe, can I interrupt you for a while?" Kaisley asked and showed him the designs for the Royal Gala. They have three more months for the gala and the royal tailor has already prepared drafts. "So, what do you think of this design?"
"It looks good. But my suit should be partnered with yours."
"Yeah, they have varieties."
"Choose for me, baby. I'll wear anything."
"Okay," She shrugged and went back to the designer as she told them what design she liked and the traces that she liked. Since her father's sign is Emerald, they will go with the green beads. She glanced at her husband who was still working even though he's in bed.
Shortly, the King came to speak to Caleb as they checked the other plans for the upcoming event.
"The game will be great for the Royal Gala." He said. "The Duke of Marduque and Duke of Westeria are participating in horse riding archery?"
The King grinned and nodded his head.
"Maverick and Kenzo are good at it. Although they rarely met, Maverick is good at Archery while Kenzo is horse riding."
"How about the others?"
"Lord Hardin was topping in this game. He became champion for three years."
"Wow," Caleb nodded. "Then, I should start practicing that one so I can win the next time." He looked at his wife who smiled at him.
"For now, you can't participate in that condition," Kaisley said. She stood as the designer bowed to them.
"I will be back in a few weeks, your majesty, your highnesses." The Royal Designer was one of the richest men in the country as he also designed for celebrities across the world. But before the special Gala, his work is to prepare for the Royal Gala every year. It was a day celebration with games and prizes.
"Thank you, Viscount Jarred," Kaisley said as the man bowed.
He was named Viscount after he won prizes that received an international award through his skills. He was once a scholar of the Royal Family and now, he's working for them and has shops of his own. Kaisley remembered that Victoria and Stacey were some of his big fans. Now, they have already designed gowns for them.
"Polo is also part of the game."
"And how about ladies?" Kaisley asked as she sat beside King Edgar.
"We can establish a new game next year, darling," Edgar said. "For now, we have to stick with the same games."
"Sure," Kaisley nodded. The King stood.
"Well, Prince Caleb, Princess Kaisley, I will head to my office now. The two of you should relax for a week."
"We are fine, Uncle. I can still move around." Caleb said but Kaisley glared at him.
"Son, you still have to watch over your health. You can't run an empire if you are sick." Edgar said with a big smile.
"Same to you, Uncle. We will stay here for a few more days." Kaisley said. "I will also check on whatever they are feeding you."
"That's sweet of you, my dear." He kissed her forehead. "I'll see you later at dinner."
Kaisley escorted him to the door and turned back to her husband.
"Prince, you heard him, right?" She crossed her arms toward him.
"Y~yes, Princess. I heard him."
"Now, put that away, and let's nap." She told him. "I'm sleepy and I never had this kind of lazy day in my life. It's better to grab this opportunity."
She went to her walk-in closet and changed her dress into a negligee. Then, she closed the curtains and crawled on the bed.
"If you don't want to join me, simply shut up and shut those papers that you are flipping."
She yawned and hugged the pillows. He blinked and stared at her for a long. He somehow felt lazy all of the sudden. He put away the documents and moved closer to his wife and hugged her.
"I'm lazy now." He kissed her cheeks and he groaned when he realized that he moved too fast. She turned to him.
"Did you forget? You are injured!" She moved to the headboard and slipped over the duvet. She lay down, facing him. "Don't move too much. Or else you will strain that sexy abdominal."
"No kidding!" He laughed and kissed her lips.

Harriet stretched her arms and looked at a table near the window where a man was having his coffee and tablet to read the news. He seemed to be busy but he looked handsome with a little light seeping through the curtains.
"Good morning, Lady Harriet. What would you like for breakfast?"
"I'll eat anything." She grumbled and lay back to get lazy.
"You have to be specific, Harriet. What if you don't like it?'
"Ugh, just…" She thought deeply but her mind was blank. "Ugh," She moaned.
"Okay, I'll ask for a pancake, bacon, egg, tuna sandwich…"
"Yeah," She asked. "That's what I want to eat."
She rolled more on the bed while he's making a call about their meal. She then realized that she had to go to the bathroom and do her business. While she's inside, she washed her face, brushed her teeth, and wiped her face to look presentable. She even fixed her brows and put on a little lip moisturizer. Then, she came out and sat across Kane.
"Hey, what do you think we should do before leaving the city?" She asked with a grin.
"I think we should pack up first before leaving." He said nonchalantly that made her frown.
"What's up with you? Why are you so cold? I even let you sleep beside me." She snorted and crossed her arms angrily.
"You were scared like a little girl. I have no choice at all!"
"Hmph!" She turned her head away. "I don't know why you are like this. But this is utterly ridiculous!"
All Kane could do is to sigh and read the documents that he sent to the Marquess.
"I'll prepare your bath. So you can have your breakfast and we could leave early. We can't delay anything now."
"What about the case?"
"I will handle it."
To be the truth, Kane was aware of what Duke Maverick could do. He had control over the city and other cities that he was holding. That's why he received the exact coming in and out of that person who also climbed up to get to their hotel suite. He can't leave her out of these circumstances. Last night, she nearly got violated if she didn't wake up and knew how to sprint fast.
He bent forward and reached her head.
"Good job, last night."
"Huh?" She tilted her head, completely confused by his words.
"You sprinted so fast last night that you dodged the intruder."
"Uh," she furrowed her brows. "You are something. You are as clueless as ever." She clicked her tongue and stood. She went to the bed, slumped there, and checked her phone.
Kane watched her over the tablet that he's holding. If it wasn't for status, Kane would go after her. But her family trusted him with her protection and he can't betray it. He doesn't want to bite the people who feed him.
He stood as he put the tablet over the table. Then, he went to her bathroom and prepared the bathtub and the soap that she liked. Also, he had a dry bathrobe ready. He came out and gestured to the bathrobe.
"Breakfast will be in thirty minutes. So, take your time bathing."
She stood and glared at him. She removed her robe and he didn't even glance at her as he sat down.
"Come, join me." She grinned to tease him but he didn't even flinch or make any reaction.
"Stop fooling around, Harriet, and go take a bath." He said coldly and took the tablet to check other news. But he couldn't concentrate now after Harriet teased him. He exhaled and checked the food that would arrive in ten minutes. He reached his phone to chat with Harriet's brother. He was completely close to him but he can't tell anything about his feelings toward her.
Kane reached his chest where his heart is located. He breathed in and out. He needs to calm himself over her. He was usually calm but he somehow lost his shit when it came to Harriet. It started when she was fifteen. It was after his training and it's been years since he last saw her. She was running in the garden, bare feet and laughing. She bumped into him accidentally and he was dazed seeing her beauty. That's when he started having deep feelings toward her.
But he brushed it off and fancy another girl or woman since he knew from the start that he wasn't fit to be with her. However, the way he tried hard to push his love for her, the harder he fell in love with her charm.
"I'm done!" Harriet came out wearing her robe. He didn't think that it's been ten minutes. He stood and took her to the dresser to blow dry her hair. "I was thinking about who I should invite for the Royal Gala."
"I think there are lots of gentlemen who will send letters to your father to request you."
"I suddenly feel like a whore." She said and checked her jewelry brush.
"Why?"
"Because men are falling in line just to be my escort."
"Harriet, the most important thing is who you choose," Kane said as he started brushing her hair.
