Chapter 200 - Were you scared, Maya?

Maya speaks urgently noticing him staring her back strangely "I was just trying to lessen your worry. ..We will return very soon! Who knows? He might get better wuen we return? ".

Xavier looks at her surprised as she looked not worried at all. It's so ironical that he wanted her to worry for his brother yet didn't. This confused even him but he couldn't blame her for not caring about Kalki.

He nods and raises his eyebrows in wonder as he notices Maya being so desperate to leave the place. She is already walking towards the garden which made him oddly relieved yet his worry didn't lessen for Kalki.

Maya speaks without turning "I am not taking you out of this country, Your Highness. I will let you meet your brother again".

She stops and sighs realizing Xavier didn't move a bit yet. He stood there contemplating his thought of leaving Kalki alone.

She adds rolling her eyes "Standing there won't help him either" and turns to give him a hard glare.

'Dare you stand there, Prince! I will start running to make your brother suffer for your mistake! It's my magnanimous heart that decided to increase his suffering gradually by a simple walk away from him'

Xavier smiles and walks with her. Both walk in the garden silently. While both are looking the scenery of the beautiful garden, both felt somewhat relaxed. 

Maya speaks without meeting his eyes "I shouldn't have left you alone..".

Xavier notices her hiding her gaze from him and wonders "And why do you feel so, My lady?"

Maya speaks fiddling her fingers behind her back in nervousness "You just have gotten cured from the poison and I left you there alone in cold-".

Xavier smiles wondering "Alone and cold? Why does that contradicts the truth?"

Maya looks at him dumbly "Hmm?"

He speaks "I was guarded by your most trusted servant and even received a thick blanket to protect myself from cold".

Maya realizes that she indeed ordered Celina to stay there and she totally forgot that in her anger. She chuckles in wonder and mutters "I am glad you received a blanket after my cold treatment to her".

She couldn't help get happy that Celina was considerate enough. They must have trained hard to be this skillfull servants! At this point she feels bad for even scolding her.

Both gets silent after this. After a while Maya too started to continue her unfinished chores of cutting the excess grasses in the way. While Xavier was made to be seated under a tree because of his health. When Maya returned, she looked too tired and grumpy as her fingers were almost frozen in cold.

Xavier decides to break this restless silence as Maya looked too tired to talk "When are you going to teach me the remaining lesson?"

Maya blinks blankly and tilts her head "..." Lesson?

Xavier speaks looking into her eyes "You told me to teach the Rope technique".

Maya gasps in surprise "Oh?"

'Does he still remember that? I don't even remember in midst of this chaos'.

Maya gets stunned and leans back when Xavier leans down towards her face catching her off guard. Their faces are very closer to each other which made Maya to hold her breath.

Xavier stares at her surprised eyes in a daze as her eyes were making him mesmerized. He smiles and lifts his hand subconsciously towards her face.

Initially he wanted to warn her for forgetting about teaching him the lessons but now he forgot about his threatening.

He is about to touch her cheek but Maya pushes him hard in next moment.

Xavier is caught off guard this time in his trance and falls on the ground hard. When he realized what had happened, Maya was holding a spear in her palm and she was glaring at a direction with murder intent.

He is so confused and asks "Is that-".

Maya speaks in a stern tone "Someone aimed it for you".

She grits her teeth in anger 'What would have happened if I didn't feel my power warning me about the approaching threat?! He would have gotten hurt again even if I delayed it for a fraction of moment!'

Xavier stands up and looks at her strangely "How did you catch it?".

Maya declares still in anger "I heard it!"

She starts walking towards the direction where it came from. She is so furious to kill someone now with that same spear in her hand.

"Maya!"

Xavier who realized something, runs after her and grabs her hand in hurry to stop her "It was not meant to kill me, Maya"

Maya hisses instantly "What do you mean it wasn't?! It would have stabbed you-".

Xavier speaks holding her shoulders "No. Listen to me. It must be a mistake. The soldiers are training in the lawn next to these vines-"

Maya struggles carefully to remove herself from his hold as she is still under the influence of her power "I won't leave them even it was a mistake!"

Xavier starts chuckling "Calm down, My lady. It was not intended to kill me!"

Maya stops struggling and glares at him finally realizing how scared she was just before.

Xavier frowns sensing her body's temperature and asks touching her forehead and cheeks "Are you sick?"

Maya shakes her head and tries to move away. She neither wants to expose her powers nor to fake sickness again! 

Xavier holds her shoulders hard and makes her stand right in front of him. He feels her shivering faintly and gets stunned. 'Was she scared for me? Does she care for me to this point that made her tremble?!'

He looks at her deeply and asks "Were you scared, Maya?"

Maya feels her eyes betraying her as soon as he called her name and looks down avoiding his eyes. His question pulled her heart towards him and she doesn't want to admit to him that she was indeed scared.

She starts to tremble suddenly at their closesness and whispers "I need to go".
