Adam Florenz's POV
I was driving through the lower part of the downtown, the shabby part of Seattle. I know it was not as it seems but there were so many things that can be deceived by the looks of something.
"so, are you going to tell me where we were going or am I going to follow blindly and trust you?" Diaz asked me as I was steering the car into an abandoned alley as I killed the lights and engine.
"We wait," I said as I was taking a binocular and looked through it. I saw some young men that were going through the club named Femme Fatale. It was at the center of the dark side of the downtown. I should guess if Lucia would do her business here.
"so, we are merely waiting?" Diaz asked me and I nodded at him.
"great and I thought I could bring sudoku with me to kill the time," he mumbled but I heard him well.
"well, you would have time to do it as well so you might be looking through this," I said as I handed a binocular to him. He arched his eyebrow before he took it. I smirked at him and then I told him what we were looking for.
"Suspect was a woman, in her 20s. Her hair from the previous encounter was red but I don't think she would go to the same color again after she was almost get caught," I said as I was looking through the binocular at the entrance of the club. I ordered Diaz to look at the other entrances of other clubs around it.
"so, what was the natural hair color of this woman?" He asked as he was looking at his checkpoints.
"unknown but I would get it will be blonde so that she can easily transfer the color to her hair," I said as I was looking at the door again when there was a new couple arrived,
"well, all I know was that she had this bracelet that she would never apart from. It was a bracelet that was encircled with tiny rubies and it will reflect even the dimmest light possible," I said as I was looking at the new man with his girlfriend, I would presume.
"so, that would be easy to identify in this setting," Diaz joked as I was nodding grimly at him.
"but do not underestimate that woman. She might be looking innocent and all but she was a cruel mastermind in place," I reminded him.
"why is that?" He asked.
"she was a mad scientist and an alluring seducer. She might be passing under our radar without us knowing it," I said as I was looking at the door again. This time a man with his buddy. No, not by the way that he pinched his butts, lover.
"Okay, I will keep that in mind," he said as we were looking out from our spot.
It has been hours or maybe more as I was looking at the clock. 3 in the morning and I don't think that Lucia would be operating this early in the morning. The Femme Fatale was opened 24/7 and I think maybe that's the reason why she chose this place.
Diaz was taking his turn on sleeping as I was going on the first watch. I still look at the front door when suddenly, a blond woman was walking with a man. A man that I have known somewhere, somewhere that I used to look at it.
"no way," I said as I was looking through the binocular as I was gripping it. It was him! What the fuck was he doing with her?!
"Diaz, Diaz! Wake up, you need to go inside," I said as I was shaking Diaz to wake up. He was mumbling something as I was looking at him. He was sleeping like a log as I was sighing before I saw his angular face was smiling at that woman.
"Okay, that's it. I'm going in," I said as I was putting my binoculars away and I took my jacket as well as a baseball cap. I was being known for pursuing her so she might know wherever I went to. I need a disguise.
"hold the car," I said as I looked at Diaz. He was sleeping as the saliva was coming from the side of his mouth. I sighed.
"oh, forget it," I said before I opened a little amount of window to let the air in. I went out of the car and locked it from outside as I went inside the club.
the bouncer looked at me before I nodded at him. He just stands there and arched his eyebrow before he closed his eyes and stared at someone else.
the music was booming around the club as I cannot se where that person has gone to. It was not mistaken as his ginger hair was shining under the dim light as I saw he was smiling and the woman by his side was whispering something. He smirked before he went to kiss her, or so I thought.
I took a table a few feet away from them as I wanted to listen to their conversation but it was too loud and I did not look up to see that there was a waitress that was waiting to talk to me.
"hey, handsome, want to get out of here?" She asked me and I think I caught a hint of French accent.
"Sorry, ma'am, official business," I said as I was showing her my badge. She paled before she went away from me. huh, that's weird. Who cares? I need to focus on my targets' conversation.
"I'll see you around?"
"will do," he said as he was kissing her hands. She giggled before she blew a kiss and went away. I took my cap down as she passed beside me. I took a look at her. Diaz was right; she was blonde and she was wearing skinny jeans and a knit sweater, perfectly blended in with the new surrounding.
she was good, I gave her that.
"Hmm, mmm," someone cleared their throat from behind and when I turned around to look, it was him that was smiling at me.
"Long time no see, eh, brother?" Danial said as he slid into the booth that I was accompanied alone, trying to hear what they were talking about but I got caught out of my disguise.
"This is humiliating," I said as I was rubbing my face with my hand. He smirked.
"yeah, you got caught by me and you did not listen to my conversation with one Lucia Ricci," he said as he was leaning against the couch, putting his hand across the headrest.
"how do you know it was me in the crowd?" I asked him as I was putting the baseball cap on the table.
"well, you were wearing the same baseball cap that I gave to you years ago, remember?" He said as he was pointing at the San Francisco hat. I frowned.
"it could be anyone," I protested to him before he laughed.
"ah but you forgot, my friend," he said as he turned the cap and I saw the line that stated his surname.
"my family made this one and it was a very distinctive mark," he said before I took the cap and slammed it on my head again.
"so, what are you doing with her anyway?"
"Interest, aren't we?" He said. I glared at him before he surrendered his hands.
"well, I have been sent by the CIA to investigate her background and frankly, she loves young, handsome billionaire," he said as he was crossing his hands in front of his chest.
"no doubt, that's your cover now?" I asked him. He grinned.
"you know I can't tell you that," he replied.
"But I can guess," I said as I looked around the club. It was busy and more but I don't see any owner or the manager that runs this shit hole. Maybe they retired for the night.
"so, what's your deal in this, Florenz?" He asked me as I looked at him. I smirked.
"well, I have to kill you if I told you," I countered with his argument. He chuckled.
"well, I can't stay long. I need to get out of here before she knows that I was an undercover agent,"
"well, I don't want to be the one that missed that," I said as I put the cap back on and walked out of the club through the back door. It was the best escape by far as Lucia just walked out of the front door.
"here, just something for an old friend," Danial said as he gave me a thumb drive. I arched my eyebrow at him.
"you'll thank me later," he said before he went out of the way through the front door as well. I was looking at the thumb drive and I saw the sun logo that was the same as the baseball cap logo at the back. I smirked at his play.
"well played, Summer. well played indeed," I said as I shoved the pen drive into my pocket as I was walking through the backdoor. I took off my jacket and my cap as well before I disheveled my hair. This way, people would not think that I have been in that club.
I unlocked the door and get inside the car and slammed the door. Diaz grunted before he looked at me.
"a good nap?" I asked him. He smacked his lips.
"well, you could take yours now," he said.
"no need, I got everything that I needed," I said as I started the engine and moved out of the alley, going back to the station with new hope in mind.
