Chapter 10 - Visual Training Field

Shadow and madam Emily sat on the dining table ,there were only 4 chair 2 of them already occupied by Sophia and Alice and the other two were for Shadow and Emily.

"Madam Emily , The dishes are fantastic they're so delicious " Shadow said with a little smile.

"I'm glad you like them" she said with a red face still remembering what just happened upstairs.

" My mom used to cook in one of the biggest restaurants of Gavaria kingdom it's called the golden pavilion " Sophia said .

" sorry but I don't recognize it" he said .

"Hmm oh sorry right I forgot "Sophia said .

" I was wondering if you guys could tell me more information about this world specially the past 10 years , maybe I'll remember something " Shadow said

" hmmm.. lemme think" Alice mumbled

" The most important and mysterious news was 5 years ago ,when one of the 9 great families was annihilated in one night , Many rumors kept going about it but the most common one is that they offended some powerful power house from the other continents thus they paid the price with their lives " Alice said in one breath.

' To wipe one of the great 9 families of Gavaria is not an easy feat, Just how powerful the other continents compared to ours , sigh i guess books don't teach you everything, I have to go out there and witness reality myself' Shadow thought to himself.

Sophia remembered something and said " how could I forget this , 8 years ago the great scientist Walter Davis invented the visual training field , It's basically a cylindrical shaped bed like portal , When people enter it , the machine transport them so a separate space where people can train and practice their combat abilities and skills without getting injured or tired in reality , It was widespread across the world and all continents, empires ,kingdoms and academies use it , A world wide fights started to take place and a ranking board was set by the machine to determine the strongest people in the world " Sophia explained to Shadow for a good minute.

' oh my god, A visual training field? This world is basically copy pasted from all the novels in my world how is this even possible?'

'Maybe and just maybe , there were knowledgeable people that came from this world?' Shadow contemplated about this but he brushed the idea as it was stupid , if people knew about this world why no one else had an idea about it and why no one ever showed super powerful abilities?

'This world… is amazing ' the three ladies stared at Shadow as they saw him smiling while lost in his thoughts so they thought maybe he remembered something.

"Did you perhaps remember anything?" madam Emily said .

" I'm not so sure but i feel like I'm familiar with this news , how about you explain it to me more" Shadow said with a smirk but he didn't show it on his face.

" well all i know is that the machine was functioning using the ability of space which was a rare ability but Walter was one of the the few people that excelled in this field"

" all kingdoms ,academies , power houses and even rogue cultivators are competing in the visual training field as the higher your rank the more privileges and riches one has . All academies compete with each other in big competitions in the visual field " Sophia said.

"That's interesting " Shadow said in a low voice but the girls could still hear him.

" brother Shadow , Are you perhaps a cultivator?" Alice asked .

" I'm not sure but i feel like i have quite some spiritual energy in my body that gives me the feeling of being more powerful than normal people " Shadow lied .

" If that's true , then that explains a lot , It's more common for cultivator to have accidents during their fights with each others so maybe you got injured during a fight with another cultivator or something related to that " madam Emily said while the other two girls nodded in agreement.

" By the way , My son is a cultivator, He studies in Sokonia academy " madam Emily said witha a big smile ,obviously proud of him which Shadow didn't even care about as he continued listening to their conversation until they got to their rooms .

'I need to get the space field machine as quick as possible, if what they said is true , i could make money while fighting as I can't stay here for long ' Shadow mumbled to himself .

Next in the morning Shadow woke up and took a bath before he went downstairs.

"Good morning everyone " he said to the ladies and who were already working with two more guys that he didn't see last night.

"Good morning Shadow , These are Carl and Louis they assist me in the kitchen " Emily said as she introduced the two men beside her.

"Nice to meet you Shadow " the two men said to him with a little a smile .

Carl a bald middle aged man in his forties and the other one Louis looked to be in his middle twenties but he didn't look like a normal human as he had yellow face with yellow scales on his hands.

It was obvious to Shadow that he was from another species which was a common thing in this world.

After breakfast Shadow began working in the tavern . He was handling the customers orders . He was like a famous celebrity as everyone specially females kept staring at him ,Madam Emily was standing next to Sophia and Alice feasting their eyes on Shadow's good looking figure when madam Emily suddenly said " so hot"

Both Sophia and Alice abruptly looked at her .when she suddenly noticed her blunder ,she started sweating .

"T..the weather it's s..so hot today" she said while trying to clear their misunderstanding.

Both of them looked at her suspiciously but didn't say anything as they knew madam Emily never cared about such things since her husband died.

After a while .

Three men entered the tavern .. They looked quite strong as two of them were emitting the aura of spiritual energy that indicated they were in the 6th stage of the body refinement realm while the third one who had a scar across his left eye emitted the aura of an 8th stage of the body refinement realm.
