Chapter 22 - Unfathomable Talent

"P-please stand on the metallic device " the elder said to him"

Shadow followed her instructions and stood on the metallic device

Boom!!!

The moment he stepped his foot on the metallic device , the device exploded.

The elder , the crowd and Mia all of them were confused.

"What the hell just happened?"

One of the crowd voiced out

" sorry i think it was already broken before I stepped on it" Shadow said dumbfounding everyone.

'System, what just happened?' He asked the system

' due to the host's increased stats , his talent far exceeded the mortal world ' the system said.

Shadow noticed that this was the second time for the system to mention this world like it wasn't the only one ,so he noted in his mind to question the system later on.

Even though they were confused, they still found his explanation applaudable. After all they thought it must be due to Mia's prowess as an S rank cultivator.

The elder named Anna wanted to make Shadow go to another desk to be examined but all the other elders told her that they were busy and he has to go to the back of the line again if he wanted to join their queue .

Shadow was getting pissed off as it was obvious the other elders didn't care about him at all and just wanted to give elder Anna a hard time.

'Maybe because she's seemingly a new elder or maybe for some other reason hah i don't care i just want get over with as quickly as possible I'm getting hungry from standing here all day' Shadow murmured.

He turned his face to elder Anna and said

" my core is an E rank and my age is kinda obvious not more than 16 so how about i just show you my cultivation level ?" He suggested.

Elder Anna would never accept such proposal as she had to follow the protocols of the exam but still when Shadow said that with his charming smile she just nodded at him blankly. And besides when said his talent was an E rank , no one would doubt him as it was already a bad talent so it all depended on hus cultivation level.

" thank you" he said before releasing his aura .

Relatively weak people couldn't gauge other people's exact sub-realm they were in as only those who were powerful enough or have a good talent which will be more sensitive to the spiritual energy could tell one's exact sub-realm . Even though , people could still tell the major realm other people were in as it was quite obvious to them .

And even though that was the case , Shadow still showed them only the power of a 1st stage spirit realm cultivator.

He was still considered talented in other people's eyes as he was only 16 and his peers were far below him . But they still questioned in their minds whether he used a special treasure to get to this level of cultivation with his low core rank

' wow that's a lot even though i didn't do that much of ' showing' . Maybe it's due to the audience's number' he thought

Elder Anna nodded at him indicating that he finished his assessment .

Shadow stepped down from the metallic device and headed towards Mia's direction. He confirmed the people's guess which was logic for them because Shadow was still considered a talent so seeing him with Mia was only normal.

After a couple of seconds , they have already left the scene .

Back on the audience's seats, a group of seniors two boys and two girls were excited to see Mia and Shadow show up in the examination test.

" We have .. no we must recruit them in our team" a bulky boy with bushy eyebrows and fierce look on his face , he was the leader of this group and the wolf's team .

" we absolutely can't let the Ravens take them " one of the girls said who had a short light blonde hair.

" Henry when will you learn to stop spouting nonsense? , we already have an S rank member so why do you think the other S rank would want to join you losers?" Eric voiced out after he heard the bulky man's conversation with his teammates .

" so what if you have an S rank member in your team ? Don't you think that lt lowers the odds for you even more ? After all no matter how strong the new S rank girl . She wouldn't want to be shadowed by the light summoner right? " Henry said with a scuff

" so you're admitting that Maya is the strongest in the school ? "Grace asked

"As if I would do that. All I'm saying that Maya is stronger than this Mia girl but don't forget the fact I'm older than Maya and my cultivation is already higher than her so don't get things wrong" Henry said

Eric was furious but couldn't refute to him as he turned and left before saying " losers keep dreaming of taking the first place , we're going to have it no matter what"

neither one of the groups had full faith in taking the first place in the academy but they still decided to aim for the best.

"Why didn't you show your full strength? They would've made a bigger commotion than mine " Mia asked Shadow while heading towards their rooms

Every student had to have a roommate with them , but seeing Mia an S rank cultivator, they decided to give her a room for her alone .

As for Shadow , he was assigned to the room next to Mia but he was still partnered with another roommate which he has yet to meet .

" And where's the fun in that , i came here to have fun remember?" He said to her while smirking at the idea of how much dominance points he'll get when he'll show off his powers to the others.

On their way to their room ,many students were looking at them weirdly . Mostly because of their looks while some others just wondered if they were new students or not. Shadow didn't bother with them as he was checking the system message in front of him

Monthly quest : make a name for yourself within a month

Rewards: a new bloodline + 50000 XP

Failure's punishment : all stats will be halved for 1 week .

Author's note : for those of you who are asking about the dragon bloodline .. I purposefully didn't mention any info about it and kept it a mystery , because i want it to be a bad ass trump card so you'll know of it in the future.
