Chapter 21 - The Night Star Academy’s Entrance Exam

One week passed in the blink of an eye .

Shadow and Mia kept slaughtering gangs and other criminals in the slums , their cultivation increased rapidly due to their unique cultivation techniques .

Mia just broke to the 7th level of spirit realm while Shadow was at the 8th level of spirit realm , Mia could catch up to him due to Shadow always letting her take the final kill and that's why she broke in realms quickly.

" Are you ready for tomorrow? We might not be together so you should be prepared " Shadow said to Mia .

" Are you worried about me " Mia tried to tease him but to her surprise Shadow came closer to her and said in a low voice

"Of course i am , shouldn't i ?"

" S-stop the bullshit " she stuttered

" Anyway , I noticed that both of us are lacking spells and combat techniques so here is one for you" he said while taking out a scroll from his system's space

Mia didn't hesitate as she touched the scroll ,

And just like the last time , a spark of light shot towards her head and merged with her soul but this time she didn't feel much pain , since her soul became stronger from the last time

The technique's name was blood manipulation . It allowed the user to manipulate other people's blood if they were weaker than him/her and stop the stronger ones for a brief second . This second was enough for cultivators to end the opponent's life . All techniques were categorized under some element, the element had to match the user's compatibility . In Mia's case , it required someone with blood ability just like how other people used other elements like light , fire , earth and so on.

The good news that Shadow didn't have to have any compatibility with any element , as he could simply learn any technique from the system's shop no matter what element it belonged to, that's why he already learned the blood manipulation technique before giving it to Mia.

After Mia learned the technique, she went to the space training field to test it out as she challenged random people .

She was already advancing in rankings for those below the sky realm and was already at the 120th rank

The bloody queen username was already getting famous among the other users due to her special and overwhelming combat abilities and otherworldly beautiful figure . She didn't hide her identity as she wanted to make a name for herself .

As for Shadow he focused more on training privately for the time being .

According to his knowledge, his sister Maya was the only light summoner in the Prophis empire, but when it came to the dark summoner no one has appeared in the Vaslia continent for the past ten thousands years . He even doubted that other continents to have one as the dark element was said to be the strongest and rarest of them all .

Fear domain (16 DP) : a special technique that will entrap the opponent with his most feared nightmares ( upgradable )

Black claws (7 DP) : a technique that allows the user to conjure tall claws from his hands ( non-upgradable )

Fiend transformation (25 DP) : a special technique that increases the host's cultivation by a whole major realm for 5 minutes ( 1 day cool down)

Shadow looked at the techniques and spells that were displayed but only these four caught his attention.

After giving it a little thought he decided to buy the dark fire and the fiend transformation

' I spent 45 Dominance points, but it's all worth it' he said

Next morning in a big square area, thousands of people could be seen crowding there . Among these people , Shadow and Mia were standing.

People kept taking glances at them from time to time as they stood out of the rest by a huge margin .

Suddenly a middle aged man who seemed in his early forties came flying towards the crowd and started descending from the sky .

He then stopped floating in the air when he was 20 meters away from them .

"This is the night star academy's entrance . All those below the age of 25 and has reached the peak of the body refinement realm step forward" his voice resounded in the whole area so everyone could hear him.

" what? Why is it different from last year's requirements ? "

" didn't the night star academy accept all those who reached the 6th stage of body refinement realm? "

People went in an uproar as they started complaining and discussing the current events.

" we don't need weaklings here " the middle aged man who was an elder in the night star academy said with a solemn voice.

Everyone kept silent upon hearing the elder's voice .

"All of those who meet the requirements, go to the registration office to examine your talent , age and cultivation " the elder said

People started heading to the registration office which was a huge building with many desks . Beside Each desk , there was a circular metallic device . After people registered their names . They stood on the metallic device when a holographic screen showed the people's age, talent and cultivation level .

There weren't any talented people among the crowd as most of them were in the body refinement realm with c rank cores and lower .

"Woaaah"

The crowd were astonished when they saw a purple hair colored girl with long legs and big ass stand on the metallic device. The screen showed her age which was 18 years old with her rank and cultivation level.

She had a B-rank core while being in the 2nd stage of the spirit realm

She was an arrogant woman as she looked at the crowd with disdain while ignoring their glances and shouts.

' i have a bad feeling, as i know for sure that I always attract cliches ' Shadow said to himself .

After a little while It was Mia's turn . When she stood on the metallic device people were already mesmerized and bewildered by her beauty and unique appearance but just when they thought that's all she got , the screen showed her information

Opposite to the purple girl's crowd's reaction,

The hall became silent as if everybody was in the present of royalty.

S rank was the highest core level one could get as it showed the potential of the cultivator. Every S rank cultivator was a renowned figure in the world so they knew how lucky they were to be in the same room with Mia.

Mia didn't even bat an eye when she saw her results as Shadow already told her talent was heaven-defying due to her blood constitution.

Mia moved to the side but didn't go where she was supposed to where other participants went .

Some seniors were present in the hall checking the new participants . They were here to recruit strong students to their teams while some of them came here just for entertainment.Among these senior students some familiar faces were present, Samantha , Grace and Eric . They were here looking for a 5th member for their team as the Imperial competition was about to start.

They were bored for not finding a single proper student to join their team but then Mia came to the spot.

"An S rank showing up here how is that even possible " Eric exclaimed

" how come that I don't recognize her ? based on her demeanor she must've come from a powerful family " Grace wondered

" why hasn't she left already? Does she wait for someone " Samantha asked after noticing Mia stopping near the queue and not moving

Her action surprised the crowd but just then , they noticed the guy with crazy handsome looks that even surpassed Mia's going to the desk where Mia was waiting. It didn't take them much time to link the two together.

The elder on the desk looked at Shadow's handsome face and was stunned but she came out of her daze when shadow's voice resounded in her ears .

"Shadow" he said with a nonchalant expression on his face

"Excuse me?" The elder asked

" My name is Shadow" he said with a light smile on his face

The elder was getting wet upon hearing his cool name coupled with his charming smile. Most girls in the area were blushing feeling embarrassed as they had the same reaction of the elder 'wet'
