Chapter 20 - The Good News And The Bad News

" what are you waiting for ? Let's dive in" he said

Both Shadow' and Mia's bodies were unconscious on the bed .

" Woah this is so great " Shadow said when he found himself in a plain white room . In front of him was a holographic blue screen, but this screen didn't belong to the system, it actually belonged to the space field machine . Through this holographic screen , people can interact with the machine system to redecorate their surroundings , add their friends or challenge others .

He went to the search bar and typed Bloody queen which Mia named herself while his name was devil .They didn't think too much about the names as they had to pick a username for themselves and most of the names they came out with, were already taken.

After he added Mia , he invited her . Suddenly her character appeared right next to him.

" This is really cool" she said

"I know right?" He he replied

" let's see ..there is an option here called challenge , does that mean we can spar with each other?" Mia asked

" Not just with each other , but even with random people , and every time you defeat someone , a sum of money is transformed to your account depending on the opponent's rank " Shadow explained

He went and pressed the 'challenge a friend ' option which automatically showed Mia's name as the only friend he has at the moment.

"Are you ready ?" He asked

" More than you can imagine " she said with enthusiasm.

A black arena appeared in the middle of the white room and both Shadow and Mia walked towards it .

Once they were facing each other , a robotic sound started counting

Mia dashed forward and arrived in front of him in the blink of an eye , her fist was already aiming at his face .

Dodge!

He moved to the left but was surprised to see her leg already shooting a kick at his waist

'This is no normal strength a 1st stage spirit cultivator can manifest, she's really worthy of my efforts ' Shadow said after he dodged her kick

" how the fuck did you see that coming " she cursed as she was bewildered by his quick reactions.

" do you really think just because you're stronger than other 1st spirit stage cultivators then you can knock me easily?"

" let me break the good and bad news for you , since no injury will affect our outside body still ,the pain inside the space field will feel the same as that of the real life as long as you're still here , so to avoid that I'll knock you with one move and that was the good news , the bad news You will lose immediately and won't even get to show your full prowess hehe " he laughed

" what the hell are you talking about ? You really thin— " in the middle of her sentence, Shadow disappeared from her sight and the next thing she felt when she woke up inside the inn room.

"Hah-hah-hah" she was panting and sweat drops could be seen on her forehead. Suddenly she turned her head to see Shadow smiling at her .

They both kept staring at each other before Shadow said " don't take it to heart , the reason for your lost is simple. I am Shadow " he said with a smirk

"Humph , it's just because you're already 2 sub-realms ahead of me otherwise, I would've fucked you " she said

" So if we are on equal realms ,you're gonna fuck me?" He asked with malicious intentions

"Of course i will " she responded but then quickly realized what he meant when she saw the evil smile expression on his face .

" Fuck you , you perverted piece of shit" she said while sending punches at him which he dodged easily.

" You're so cute when you're angry " he said to her as he kept dodging her fists

Mia's face was red from anger and embarrassment .

" Just wait till i get stronger " she said that while exiting the room

' hah I should follow her ' he sighed as he could guess that she was going to kill some people.

Mia was angrily walking on the streets when Shadow came next to her and held her hands .

" What the hell are you doing ?" she asked with wide opened eyes

" We only kill at night to avoid unwanted attention, so it's up to you , should we head back home and eat fried eggs or let me hold your hands and take you to a decent restaurant to compensate you?"

" Fine , but don't you dare try anything funny " she said reluctantly after remembering the taste of eggs they have been eating since the day they came here.

They both entered a fancy restaurant called the swine pavilion .

" It's obviously a place where nobles and rich people come to" Shadow said after noticing the outfits of the people going in and out of the restaurant.

They sat on a table and Shadow ordered almost every dish on the menu.

The waiter was dumbfounded by Shadow's action so he hesitated .

" Don't worry here is the money" Shadow handed him a pouch of money when he guessed that the waiter thought they had none.

" Please wait for a little while, the dishes will be served immediately the moment they're finished " The waiter said before he hurriedly went to prepare the order.

" I really enjoyed my time today , we should go there more often " an 18 years old man with blonde hair and good looks said to his other 3 friends

" Jason is right , the blonde woman's body was so sexy I couldn't last for long" a short black haired guy said .

They were a group of young adults who just entered the restaurant. They went and seated themselves on the table not far from Shadow and Mia .

They were discussing different topics

" I can't wait for the entrance exam next week " one of them said

" Yeah me too , it's said that this years exam will be different "

" I heard that too, let's hope that it won't be dangerous "

Shadow and Mia were listening to their conversation when the waiter brought their dishes one after the other.

The people in the restaurant were shocked seeing the number of dishes that being served to a single costumer .

" Don't be shy and dig in" Shadow said to Mia who shook her head and sighed

"Just leave me something to eat " she sounded so oppressed and wronged but the next moment she swiftly filled her mouth will all different dishes like her life depended on it .

' Fuck you , you pretentious liar' Shadow exclaimed before he dashed at the dishes with even more speed

From the people's perspective they were racing each other which in reality was true as they kept storing their stomachs while looking at each other

Author's note : next chapter will be the entrance exam , so expect some real actions from our devils
