It was almost lunchtime, Devin carried Leena out of the bathroom, freshly showered, and laid her on the bed. All the energy she ramped up by resting during the night got entirely depleted in the bathroom. One thing that boosted Leena's spirits were she doesn't need to go to the office to work. She can happily rest for the whole day. Lying n.a.k.e.d on the bed, she neither had the energy nor bothered to get dressed. What's the use when he had already seen everything?
"Where are you going?" Leena asked when Devin was leaving the moment he put her on the bed. "Devin!" She screamed again, but there was no response.
Tiredly, Leena stared at the ceiling waiting for him and a moment later, he came back. ''You are sleeping without drying your hair?'' Although she was n.a.k.e.d now, his thoughts did not linger anywhere. He slid a comfy dress on her body, dried her hair, and carried her out of the room again.
''Where are we going? I am sleepy.''
''You need to have lunch first.''
During lunch, Devin made sure Leena had healthy, nutritious food to replenish her energy. Seeing how wearily she looked, he cursed at himself. He has been eating her completely dry since last night.
''Are you tired?'' He gingerly laid her on the bed, and set the temperature to her liking, not so warm and not so cool.
''Hell tired,'' Leena replied, pulling the blanket up to her chin. When he told, he wouldn't let her leave the bed, Leena thought he was making fun of her. She has underestimated his stamina indeed. Even now, she is sprawling in the bed like a lizard, and he is standing steadily, as strong as an Ox.
''Aren't you sleeping?'' Leena pulled him to the bed. ''I know you have great physical vigor, but you need to rest your mind also. You are under a lot of stress, Devin. Do you know that? You got two panic attacks on one day. I am getting scared of your health.'' She knows worrying doesn't take away her troubles, but it took a toll on her peace.
''Sweetheart, I am fine. Don't worry and exhaust yourself.'' He slipped into the covers and pulled Leena closer to his c.h.e.s.t. ''If that makes you a worrywart, I will rest. Is that Fine?''
''Such a good boy,'' Leena smiled and talked about some random stories lying on his c.h.e.s.t. Devin attentively listened to all her blabbering's, patting her back in rhythm until she dozed off. Surprisingly, his lids fluttered shut, and he soon followed her to the deep slumber.
....
The following day, fully energized, Leena had her breakfast and began playing with two rabbits roaming near the place they were staying in. She wanted to spend quality time with Devin alone, so she didnot plan to go anywhere.
''Are you happy?'' He asked, sitting next to Leena. The smile on her face was a sign that she indeed enjoyed it here.
''Thanks for bringing me here.'' She rested her head on his l.a.p, relishing their happy moments. She wished they would stay happily without any intrusions.
Devin didn't speak a word. He smiled, brushing her hair tenderly.
"Devin?'' Leena spoke up, shifting her gaze to him.
''Tell me, sweetheart?"
''Can we for a hike? I want to go inside those woods.'' She said, pointing her finger towards the forest.
''Alright. First, I will take you to an amus.e.m.e.nt park tomorrow, and then we will plan accordingly.'' The honeymoon trip was all hers, and she has to say a word he will fulfill without a second thought.
''Thank you, babylicious.'' She kissed his cheek and ran away before he would catch her.
''Leena, don't go far away. Stay in my watch.'' Scared that she would miss the route since it was not a crowded area, Devin got up and caught her. He tagged along with her to all the places she roamed on the premises.
...
Late in the night, Devin got a call from Nick. If it were anyone else, he wouldn't have lifted, but Nick would only call him when he has something important to tell.
Devin slightly shook Leena's body, and with no response, he confirmed she would be building castles in her fantasy world. It was a relief that Sherlock Holmes is a heavy sleeper. He freed his arm from Leena's tight grip, and sneaked out of the bedroom like a cat.
''What's so important that you had to call at an odd hour?'' Devin asked.
''You have become utmost busy than when you are working.'' Nick's voice reflected with a mock.
''It seems Leena has not tortured you enough. Do you want to come here for_''
''Alright, let's get into the business.'' Nick cut him off in the middle.
''That's the power of my wife.'' Devin's lips curved up proudly. Without doing anything, she can scare people.
''Power my foot? She is a big fat bully that he had seen in Korean dramas.'' Nick grumbled before turning serious. ''I have a piece of news.''
''I am listening," Devin said.
''A week back, Regina got released from the mental hospital. She sneaked out of her house with the help of her minion, Victor, and tried to contact your grandmother. Your threats seemed to have worked on Elinor Catherina, and she refused Regina to enter the palace. Since then, I didn't concentrate on her until I heard her father file a complaint that she has been missing.''
''Is it?'' Devin asked in a calm voice.
''It was executed perfectly without a single flaw, the way we do. Why aren't you commenting anything on it?" Nick quizzed.
''I don't have anything to comment on here. It must be him.'' Devin replied, his fists tightened around the wooden railing to stay calm. Why did he abduct Regina when he could have done it long before? What's his purpose?
''What about the information I asked?'' Devin asked, changing the course. His mood only worsens when he thinks about him.
''Man, I was on tenterhooks to collect all the past data. I lost the count of shoots you have done.'' Nick sighed, thinking about the three hectic days. ''I have sent a copy to your mail.''
''Hold on for a second.'' Devin quickly opened the mail, and, true to Nick's words, the list was huge. ''Go ahead, Nick. I am listening."
''I have checked the history of all the listed, and I did not find any suspicious background, but it's your call now.''
''Alright. I will have a thorough look over it when I am free.'' Devin quickly brushed past the file to check if anything was missing, and to his surprise, there seems to be missing information of him dated to five years back.
''I didn't meet a single person for a year-long.'' He asked in confusion.
''Sorry about that part, Devin. I couldn't get any information during your one-year stay in Russia. Probably you should try remembering." Except for Devin's arrival and departure to that place, there is nothing that Nick found about him.
"Russia?" Devin was baffled by Nick's statement. "Why did I go to that place?''
''Are you freaking kidding me?" Nick exclaimed. "You stayed there for a year, and you are asking me why? You wanted to spread WD's roots in Russia, right?"
''I_I Yeah! I do remember now.'' Devin quickly covered up and diverted the topic. He talked with Nick regarding some crucial matters before ending the call. He then strolled into the room all the way, Nick's words replayed in his mind. "Why did I go to Russia, and why don't I have any memory of it? It seems none close to me has an idea that a crucial part of my memories is missing."
No one can answer his questions. He has to rely on the juggling memories that come around announced. "What havoc have I created in the past to forget my memories?" His mind was in a mess, and the only cure was his sweetheart. Devin climbed on the bed and pulled Leena close to him, and in her presence, his body and mind instantly relaxed. Soon, fatigue kicked in.
....
The following day, Leena quickly freshened up since Devin promised to take her to the amus.e.m.e.nt park in the morning. Like a child, she made Devin ride all the stupid child games. When she made friends with the kids and started playing with them, seizing the chance, he slipped off and stood there at a distance away from Leena to watch her. He was smiling all ears when all of a sudden, a voice ringed into his ears.
''Devin."
Dumbfounded was Devin for a second when he turned around. A woman, gorgeous to be called for, was standing in front of him in a s.e.xy dress, her curves accentuating with how tightly the dress hugged her.
''OMG, Devin! It's you." The woman was close to hug him, but Devin backed off before that.
"Goodness lord! You are still the same. How are you? I can't believe I am meeting you for the first time after our University days."
"Yeah, it's been a long time, Valen. How are you?" Devin awkwardly replied, and his gaze immediately landed on Leena. He thought she was playing with the kids but no. Her eyes were on the woman standing next to him. He do not expect such an unexpected encounter with Valen today and it happened in Leena's presence.
