When the least expected person they anticipated appeared in front of them out of the blue, Andrew's and Harley's reaction knocked for six. Andrew found himself dumb in the sense that his words have stopped flowing. Harley was floored when the mocking eyes of the person standing in front of her met her confound eyes.
''Did you tell him?'' Harley faintly questioned Andrew, maintaining a deep hatred towards the person standing in front of her throwing a mocking expression. She hated to admit, his presence would drive her crazy..Scratch that.. everything about him makes her go crazed. The nerve of this man! Harley thought.
''Me? Talking with this thorn?'' Unlike Harley, Andrew raised his voice so that his mortal enemy could hear his deep hatred. ''In my garden full of roses, he is the outcast thorn.'' Andrew was running on sheer anger. Since they live in the same vicinity, Andrew thought his mortal enemy followed him here. Their deep hatred runs through their bones that they blame their coincidence meetings also as intentional.
''Roses has thorns only for those who would gather it,'' Jasper added in a lazy ridiculing tone and then turned to Harley, his grave expression turned soft, watching his sunshine. He knows Harley is going on a date from his source, aunt Evelyn. He was happy that at least she is supporting him.
Harley would ruin the date without making an appearance, and that was all Jasper needed to prove his sunshine hasn't stopped loving him. But when Jasper heard Harley is actually going to meet the person, he was outraged, hurt, all emotions surged, thinking his Harley moved on from him. He rushed here to wreck the date even if she throws tantrums seeing his presence but was amused to see Andrew and Harley already on the game. At the least, his mortal enemy has done one good job in his lifetime.
''I am impressed at how good you are in ruining the dates,'' Jasper said, sitting opposite her. ''This proves you haven't stopped loving me.''
''It's not mathematics to prove, donkey fellow.'' Andrew butted in. His enemy is just like math, and he hates math.
''Wait..Why are you here, monkey fellow?'' Jasper darkly chuckled. ''If you are here, who is scaring away the crows from our country?''
''I am sorry, what language are you speaking? It sounds like poppyc.o.c.k.'' Andrew's mocking voice echoed into Jasper's ears, causing his frustration to kick in.
''Imagine how effective your insult would be if I give a damn f.u.c.k?'' Jasper lifted his finger to Andrew's face.
''No need for insults, jackass; your face is all enough.'' Andrew copied Jasper's actions.
There is a saying, never insult an alligator until you cross the river. Even the alligator sets the borders, but Andrew and Jasper have no lines when it comes to their snubs. It is so intense to the point that they forget the actual purpose, and their concentration solely focuses on wringing their necks.
In between their fights, one thing they didnot realize was Harley already slipped out of place, tired of seeing their drama since the school days. She wondered if these two will ever mend their relationship, forgetting that incident.
Only when a server arrived and informed they are in public, both cleared their throats and straightened their backs, and started acting like gentleman. In a pause, they looked for Harley only to find the chair empty.
''Where did Harley go?'' Jasper rose from the seat hurriedly and dashed out of place, cursing himself for missing an opportunity to mend his relationship with Harley.
''Now he remembers her? Brainless idiot.'' Andrew muttered, shaking his head, and through the process, his eyes darted to the people watching him with an expression of despair. Damn it! I slipped my tongue again. It's all because of him. Until Andrew stepped out of the hotel, he didnot lift his head in discomfort when people keep looking at him, even stopping to eat the food.
...
Jasper straight away raced to the bas.e.m.e.nt, and with the number of cars parked around, he couldn't find the exact location of Harley. He traced her site through the GPS tracking and strolled towards the car when he saw it through the app. ''Open the door, Harley,'' Jasper softly said, knocking on the window.
Damn it! How did he find me? Harley only sild down the window after Jasper repeatedly slammed the glass window. ''Go to hell.'' She spat out at him.
''I will not repeat it, Harley. Open the door. We need to talk.'' Jasper commanded, to which Harley ignored him and ignited the car's engine without looking at him.
''You want to act headstrong, right? Fine.'' With that, Jasper, walk past the car and stood in front of it. His gaze hardened when Harley refused to get down from the car. ''I will not leave today until I get the answer. Let me see how stubborn you can get. Either step down or run the car over me.''
''Why are you torturing me, bastard!'' Harley tightly clutched the steering wheel, pushing all her emotions into it, but nothing was working. Her resolute was slowly breaking, and Harley knew she could not keep it for a long time. Harley unlocked the door and stormed out of the car. ''What do you want from me, Mr. Allen?''
Her distant way of addressing hurt Jasper deep down in his heart, but he was happy at least, his Harley is giving him a chance to talk. ''What do I want? You don't know?''
''I am not a mind reader.'' She snapped.
''Harley..'' Jasper sighed at how ignorant she has turned towards him. Fine! He will repeat the question he has been asking for two years without actually getting an answer. ''Why did you say break-up to our relationship?''
''I told n number of times, and I repeat for n+1th time, I lost interest in you.'' Replied Harley, fidgeting her hands.
''Liar!'' A red flag raised in Jasper's back of the mind that Harley is lying. He knew Harley would wring her hands when she is lying.
''I don't have time to sit and argue over truth and lies,'' Harley replied in a cold and distant tone. She has to leave the place soon, or Jasper will find that she is lying. ''I have given my answer, and please stop bugging me, Mr. Allen. Goodbye.''
Before Harley took a step forward, Jasper yanked her by the wrist and turned her around. ''I don't understand how someone can tell so many lies and never feel bad about it.'' He whispered, gazing into her eyes. He could feel Harley is trying hard to stay put with her emotions. ''You still love me, Harley.''
''I don't_''
''It seems you have got a minor memory loss over the past two years. Let's recreate our memories, then you might remember me. '' Without waiting for Harley's reply, Jasper slammed his lips onto her abruptly, trapping her words in the mouth. Harley's eyes widened. She tried to push him away, but the more force she used, the more Jasper pulled her closer, leaving no gap between them. His fingers ran through her hair, and her heartbeat merged with him as he tasted the sunshine of her lips urgently. He missed the taste of her nectar. How long? Two years? She has thrown him into a desert, waiting to quench his thirst as the desert thirst for water.
Harley couldn't feel her legs, her hands, or anything for that matter. All she felt was him, everywhere, filling everything. It is not the first time she is kissing him, and infact they went beyond sharing a kiss, but her heart beats like crazy every time he is near her. That's it! Her last resolute broke, and Jasper has taken control of her, and she has to submit herself to him.
Jasper feigned Harley also felt the same with how she was responding to his kisses. He didnot care they were in the parking lot. He went on and on until Harley knees weak and held his body for support. Finally, one's time lined through them when they break apart from the kiss.
''Do you still deny your feelings, Lillie?'' Jasper whispered, lifting her chin, and he got the answers when his eyes met with hers.
Lillie! Harley internally muttered under her breath. No one except him calls her Lillie. She can't deny her feelings, but at the same time, she can't forget his betrayal either.
