''I missed you, Lillie.'' Jasper softly said, gazing into her tender eyes. His grip on her waist was neither hard nor gentle, just like the way Harley loved. ''Did your memories come back, or you want me to prove it again?'' Jasper chuckled, watching her face turning a shade of mantle.
''Kiss me hundred times; my answer is the same,'' Harley said, unconcerned. She loves no other but him. At the same time, Harley can't forget his treachery. His betrayal is the only truth stuck in her mind now.
''Release me,'' Harley said, her tone indifferent, unlike the gentleness she always confers to him. She struggled to free herself from his arms, but he was too strong for her.
''Stop fighting, Harley.'' Jasper stood resolute despite her lacquered mood. ''I know my girlfriend is strong, but can she outsmart me?''
''I am not your girlfriend. Our relationship broke two years back. Get out of the delusional mode, Mr. Allen.'' Harley blew her top at the trigger of the memories.
''It was you who wanted to break up to which I haven't acknowledged, and neither I will agree in the future. So, technically, you are still my girlfriend.'' Jasper said in a firm voice. He still remembered the day Harley suddenly said, 'let's break up,' and walked out of the house just like that. Like a mad man, he is searching for the reason for the past two years, and this weird woman would never look at him at all.
''I don't care about your_.''
''I do care, Harley!'' Jasper interrupted her thoughts and pushed her away from his arms and maintain a distance. His irritation kicked in, hearing the same answer from her. ''You asked me to keep our relationship secret, and I did even though I didnot like it. Suddenly, one day you came and dropped a bomb...we are breaking up.... just like that...as if my feelings don't matter to you. What have I done to receive such a cruel punishment?''
''You don't know what you have done?'' Harley chuckled at his cluelessness. Sleeping with some other woman when they were in a relationship was the worst humiliation she received.
''Had I known, I wouldn't be searching the truth for two years.'' He said coldly.
''I am surprised how good you are at acting,'' Harley scoffed, looking away from him.
''Why can't you tell me_''
''Madam, sir, you are blocking the path for the other cars, if you don't mind, please.'' A security guard arrived when one of the customers, informed about a blockage.
''Sorry for the inconvience.'' An opportunity to run away from him, she will gladly use it. Harley briefly looked at Jasper for one last time, ordering him with her eyes not to make a scene. She then turned back and strolled in her car direction.
Without any shame, Jasper followed Harley, opened the car door, and settled in the front seat.
Harley: '' ''
''What are you_''
''Drop me at home,'' Jasper said.
''I am not your driver. Get down from my car.''
''Sorry, I have turned deaf.'' Without heeding her reply, Jasper switched on the music system, and he was surprised when his favorite song, counting stars, started playing. ''You sure likes to listen to my favorites, Lillie.'' He smirked, turning to her.
Caught redhanded, Harley scratched her forehead in embarrassment when she heard his sarcastic comments. Without replying, she started the engine to drop him at home because she understood it's of no use arguing with this man. The ride to the house was silent. Neither Jasper nor Harley spoke a word, silently relishing each other's company.
Harley stopped the car, a little away from Hillcrest, where Jasper is staying. It has only four villas, out of which Andrew and Jasper have occupied two. ''We have reached home,'' Harley muttered monotonously.
''Do I have to go?'' He turned to her, and like a spoiled child, he asked.
''Let me drop you at the station house then.'' She replied in deadpan humor.
''You have turned into a she-devil,'' Jasper muttered, and without any clue, Jasper pulled Harley by her wrist, causing her to fall into his embrace. Harley's eyes enlarged at his sudden moves.''Jasper, what are you_''
''Shh..'' He silenced her. ''Let me stay with you for a while, Lillie.''
Harley closed her eyes, biting her lower lip. His hug was making her feel better, which she doesn't want to. After a long stretch of silence, Jasper spoke up.
''I don't know the reason you wanted to break up, but I will soon find out, Lillie,'' Jasper said and released himself from the hug. Before getting down, Jasper had the urge to play with her for a while. His gaze instantly shifted to her bosom as mirth danced in his eyes.
''I suppose I don't get the chance to play ping-pong in the future.'' He kept open the car door, ready to jump when Harley makes a move.
''Jasper, you bastard.'' Harley leaned forward to beat the shit out of him, but he had already stepped out of the car.
''Bye, bye, Lille. Have your jazz dreams.'' He winked before he made himself into Hillcrest.
''Argh! He is the death of me.'' Harley pulled her hair in frustration. Suddenly, she remembered his words, and with a flushed face, she looked at her bosom. Did my goddess tips work, or is Jasper simply bluffing? Anyway, it doesn't matter to her anymore. ''Go to hell, Jasper Allen.'' She screamed at nobody before heading home.
....
Instead of going straight into his home, Jasper kicked Andrew's door for the first time after they started living as neighbors. After today's incident, he has a hunch that Andrew might have known the secret Harley is hiding. After all, Harley is very close to that monkey. Although his conscience was not allowing to talk with him, he badly wanted to know the truth.
Successfully ruining the date, Andrew arrived home and getting fresh, he decided to play video games for a while before cooking something for him. Just when he switched the game on, he heard a sound coming from the door, followed by a faint voice.
''Who the hell is it? Why can't they ring the bell?'' Andrew rose from his seat and opened the door, shocked to see Jasper standing in front of his doorstep. Did the sun rose in the west today? ''W_hat?''
''You know why I am here,'' Jasper said.
''I don't know anything_.''
''It's the least you should be doing after betraying me.'' Jasper hit Andrew's weak spot.
Andrew gripped his fists tightly at the memory. He would always bring that topic to make him guilty. Still, Andrew didnot fudge. He was about to close the door on Jasper's face, a deep voice spoke up. ''Don't you want my baby sister?''
Suddenly, Andrew paused his hands to which, Jasper jagged a smile and smirked at how successful he was in luring the prey into his den.
