Upon hearing the announcement, Louise wave her hand and a vile appeared before her. She quietly put it on her face covering almost all of it except from her blue eyes.
Louise already informed the Duke of her conditions while she stayed at his residence earlier while they were travelling. The Duke thought she was being shameless. He was the owner of the place alright, but when she mentioned that it would be his payment for her daughter's illness, he agreed.
She told him that he don't want to live together with his family. She also don't want any servant to attend to her. The last thing is, she don't want to speak to anybody within the residence except for the Duke alone.
The Duke readily agreed. Her conditions saves him a lot of trouble. He only needed to provide her a place to stay and provide her food as well. Well, guess he will provide her some allowance. She will become his adopted daughter after all.
Charlie on the other hand is waiting for both of them to alight from the carriage.
The Duke's answered was heard from the inside.
"No need to wait for me. I'll need to escort my daughter to her place of stay. You all can withdraw."
Charlie hesitated a bit but soon agreed.
"This subordinate obey."
He called out the other guards including the driver of the carriage and leave them.
When Duke Gerald notice that all of them had already withdrawn. He called out to Louise.
"Let's go. I will escort you to your residence."
They alighted from the carriage and started to walk. The Duke leading followed by Louise. He lead her to an isolated gate. Louise observed that inside the gate stand a palace. Though it's quite lonely outside, the place itself shows that it was well maintained.
"This is the place where my mother stayed while she was alive." The Duke explained.@@
