Daisy Dyer's POV

I was looking at the stage before someone was taking the seat beside me. On my right side, I have Lucia already so I wondered who it was on my left.

"I'm sorry, is this seat taken?" Someone asked as I turned to look at it. It was not someone that I would guess because this person was a stranger.

I smiled before I shook my head. He thanked me before I was sitting and looking at the stage again.

"Say, I never have seen you before. I'm sorry if I was being too forward but you're beautiful tonight," he said as I was turning to look at him. I blushed before I chuckled at him. The stranger smiled.

"Well, it would not be too forward if you tell me your name," I said as I was talking with him. He smiled before he offered his hand.

"Eliot Park, nice to meet you, Miss…"

"Dyer, Daisy Dyer," I said as I was shaking my hand with him. He smiled before he asked something unexpected.

"Say, did your father named Jayson Will Dyer?" He asked as I was blinking at him. I nodded before he chuckled at me.

"I thought as much. I am an admirer of your father's work. I can agree that the meteorite was the reason for the Old Ocean to form. Say, do you have any work that he has never published before?" He asked me as I was trying to think back about the piles of scientific papers that I have back at the ranch.

"Hmm, I don't think there were unpublished papers for my father but I can look it up if you wanted to," I said as I was looking at Eliot. He was staring at me or maybe past me before I turned to look in the way of his eyes.

I saw that his jaws were clenched as if he wanted to say something but Lucia was babbling at him that he cannot escape. I mean, no one escaped Lucia when she started to talk.

"Say, Daisy, do you know that chap?" Eliot asked me as I was turning to look at him. He was smirking so I don't know if I wanted to say the honest answer or should I fabricate it?

"Well, unfortunately, yes. I have been his partner for the last 2 years," I said before I was sipping on the wine as I sensed that Eliot was looking at me. I think he got the wrong idea of 'partner' here.

"I mean as a lab partner. Not in the other way or something else," I said before I felt the blush was coming onto my face. Why do I have to react like this with a handsome stranger?

I mean, Eliot has his looks and all, so why not, right? Flirting with him, that is.

"I see. But I don't think that chap would have the same idea with yours," he commented before smirking. I wanted to ask more of it but the speakers were giving their talks and I have to listen to them.

Not when my eyes wandered to Dylan Windell.

Was it true? Was Dylan considering me something more than just his father's murderer's daughter? I shook my head. Of course not. He might think as well as I was the bad guy of his life.

I sighed before I was looking at him as I was trying to focus on the speeches that were being delivered.

Dylan Windell's POV

I was gripping the glass as I was sipping when I saw in the corner of my eyes that Eliot was talking to Daisy. I felt like the tie was tightening as I was trying to forget what was happening between them.

Gosh, what was happening to me?!

I was trying to focus on the important information that the speakers were giving to us. I was trying to calm down but I can't when Eliot was whispering to Daisy. And she did not help it either as she was smiling and laughing at the jokes that Eliot Park did.

What the fuck did they talk about?

I was looking at the speakers before the last speaker was greeting good night and the MC was taking the stage again.

"Well, they are very fascinating, aren't they? Give it up to our speakers for tonight!" He said as we were clapping before Eliot was whispering to Daisy again. She smiled before she was nodding at Eliot. That bastard was smiling as well. I sighed before Lucia was whispering to me.

"I think the heir to the Park's Pharmacies was taking a liking to Daisy, don't you think?" She said as she was looking at them. I, of course, have been watching them for quite some time now.

"What makes you say that?" I asked her as she was smiling dreamily. If anything, I think Lucia was a hopeless romantic. I gripped my hand into a fist.

"Just look at them! They are bantering and they are smiling. I think this will do good for Daisy as well," she said as I was rolling my eyes at her statement.

"Sure," I replied as I was sipping on the wine. I felt like I was being suffocated right now with Lucia and her notion of hopeless romantic as well as the gestures between Daisy and that douche.

"I think I might need some air," I said before I stood up and I went away. I don't turn back to the table as I knew Daisy would not be that curious to follow me around.

If she knew what was good for her.

Daisy Dyer's POV

"I tell you, they have the best sushi in the world. I wonder if you wanted to get some with me later?" Eliot said as I was shaking my head at him.

"I can't. I have the stuff to do tomorrow," I said before I heard someone was getting up from the table. It was Dylan and he was getting away from the crowd. I think he went to get some fresh air.

"With sake as well?" I asked him as I was trying to control myself before I was looking at the stranger that I just get to know.

"Perhaps but for now, I wish that you would dance with me, Daisy. Would you give me the honor of that?" He asked as I was looking at his hand. He was offering me to dance with him. I sighed. I was hoping to be Dylan's first dance but I think I was too far fetched.

Like he said about my scientific theory.

"So, will you?" He said as I was looking at Eliot's handsome face. I took his hand and he was pulling me toward the dance floor.

"I don't know if I can dance perfectly. I don't usually dance in a nice setting like this," I said as I was looking at him. He smiled.

"Don't worry. I will catch you if you ever fall," Eliot said as he was twirling me around the dance floor. The others were staring at us before some of them were coming to join us as well. I was smiling before I saw a familiar head that was staring at us.

"I think your dark prince has come to watch us," Eliot said as he was whispering to my ear. So, I was not imagining it then that Dylan was looking at us dancing.

"Should we stop?" I asked him before Eliot was smirking with mischief glint in his eyes.

"No, I think we should lure him out. Do you wish to know what his real feelings for you, Daisy?" Eliot said as he was twirling me around before he was pulling me into his arms.

"I don't know what are you talking about," I said as I was putting my hand on his chest. Eliot smirked before he was pulling my head closer. My eyes widened before I was stilled as Eliot was whispering to me. His hot breaths were on my lips.

"If Windell comes and punches me in the face, you know his true feelings then," he said as I was looking into his eyes.

"What are you—"

So suddenly, I was being pulled by someone from behind before the fist was swinging to Eliot's face as I was horrified to look that Dylan was gripping my arm. Eliot was sitting on the ground before he was smirking at me.

Then there's blood on his mouth.

"Oh my god! Are you okay?" I asked Eliot before I wanted to get to him. But I was being held by Dylan.

"Let's go," he said through his gritted teeth before I was looking at Eliot. He was winking at me.

'Sorry,' I mouthed at him before he waved his hands dismissively.

"Show's over, everyone!" Eliot said as he was staring at the audience before they all disappeared from my sight.
