Chapter 10:Instant Combat Resolution

Lin Ke wanted to head directly to the Summoning Hall, but on the way, Lucy shyly pulled on his sleeve, showing a pitiful expression as she asked, "My Lord, do you have anything to eat? I'm starving."

"Umm, a little bit." Lin Ke felt slightly awkward. He never would have expected that the newly-summoned Compassionate Priest Lucy would be hungry so quickly.

After that, he looked over at Avina and asked curiously, "What about you? Are you hungry too?"

"Yes, my Lord." Avina's face blushed red as she lightly grabbed her smooth pale stomach, muttering softly, "I could do with some food."

"Alright, I understand."

As the corners of his mouth twitched, Lin Ke brought the girls over to the Dormitory, handing the uneaten grilled fish over to them. "I'm sorry, I only have this one grilled fish with me at the moment. You guys will have to make do for now, we can find more food a bit later."

At that point, the fish was already cold, but the two of them did not seem to mind. Splitting the fish in half, they wolfed all of it down instantly, much to Lin Ke's surprise.

He did not know that they were this hungry. To think that they were hungry enough to completely disregard any ladylike image they had.

Luckily, the fish did not have many fine bones, so the two of them did not choke on any as they inhaled the food in front of them. Lin Ke felt like that would have been an inevitability.

Barely a few moments later, an entire 1kg fish had completely disappeared into their stomachs. However, judging by their unsatisfied looks, they were obviously not full yet.

Lin Ke started to feel a bit more stressed, he had no idea how big of an appetite these Heroes had. He was not sure if he was capable enough to take care of them.

It was only the two of them for now, but if the Heroes in the future also had such a huge appetite, then what was he to do?

Inside the Elemental Tower, there was nothing he could see that could be used to help them survive. Would they have to constantly go out hunting and fishing?

"What a drag."

Lin Ke mumbled to himself as he led the three babes over to the Summoning Hall.

The Summoning Hall was another structure that used dimensional space. Inside the tiny room stood a gigantic hall. The ground at the center of this hall was completely etched with complicated patterns. As Lin Ke stood on top of it, a pop up appeared asking if he wanted to Summon Elemental Guards.

With a wave of his hand, Lin Ke pulled out twenty Elemental Cores and casually tossed them onto the ground. Soon, 4 Elemental Guards emerged from the floor's enchantment.

The Elemental Guards' bodies looked somewhat ethereal, though their height only reached Lin Ke's chest level. Their bodies glowed with a bluish-purple light as if they were giving off some extraordinary aura.

However, when Lin Ke checked the Elemental Guards' Attributes, he was disappointed to see a single Level One icon and nothing else.

Despite being disappointed by the Level One Elemental Guards, Lin Ke still wanted to do as he planned. He wanted to see how much these Elemental Guards could do.

After all, these Elemental Guards cost 5 Elemental Cores to summon. A Level 1 Elemental Pond could only produce 10 Elemental Cores per day!

Lin Ke had the 4 Elemental Guards follow behind him after they were summoned. They were tasked with protecting him.

As a normal average human, he had no confidence in defeating any of the Werewolves outside - at least not at this moment.

He had put all his Elemental Cores into this. The Summoning Hall in front of him had exhausted most of his Special Resources.

"What do you guys think is the best plan of action to defeat the Werewolves outside?"

"To them, this probably isn't a big deal." Lin Ke hypothesized. However, that was his natural personality, being cautious enough to not to make any mistakes. Before doing anything, he would always try his best to make any necessary preparations.

Although he might be a bit reckless at times, he was able to strengthen himself just by waiting a few minutes in this situation, and thus increasing his chances of winning by quite a huge amount. Why would he not do it?

Within these few minutes, he could summon two more Heroes and a few Elemental Guards to help Dra out. It was obviously better than sending Dra out alone, much less at the cost of a mere few minutes.

"When heading out, be on your guard everyone."

Lin Ke stood behind the main entrance as he warned the three girls. When he saw that fire was burning in these girls' eyes as they were eager to go, he stopped talking and opened the door. "It's up to you guys, kill all of these Werewolves!"

As soon as Lin Ke gave the order, Dra pulled out her longsword and disappeared from his sight. By the time he realized it, she was already more than a dozen meters away, hacking away at a Werewolf.

Elven Archer Avina just stood at the entrance. As she raised her left arm out, a bracelet with a cross dangled down from her wrist. With a flick of her arms, the cross turned into a silver longbow that seemed other-worldly, with a ray of light as its string.

As Avina pulled on the bow's ray of light, a light arrow was swiftly fired. It hit one of the werewolves right in the chest and pierced right through it.

After she shot out three bolts of light arrows, she suddenly stopped. To Lin Ke's surprise, she suddenly raised both her arms up in the sky and a huge ray of light shot out from the bow, piercing the night sky.

"Explosion - Arrow of Starry Light!"

As Avina shouted, a shower of light rays descended from the heavens, pelting the Werewolves straight into the earth.

Dra, who was also within Avina's attack range, nonchalantly raised her left arm. With a sudden flick of her wrist, a giant shield that looked like it was made from the scales of a huge creature appeared, shaking off the shower of light raining down upon her. She did not seem to have taken any damage from it.

Then, with a slash of her longsword, she sliced up the Werewolves that tried to take refuge under her shield in half.

Before Lin Ke could even finish taking a full breath of air, there were barely a couple of stragglers left from the original large number of Werewolves. They looked on in fear and they tried to make a run for it. Dra did not move in time to strike them down.

By the time Lin Ke finally realized what had happened, the three beautiful Heroes were already back by his side. Suddenly, Lin Ke started to feel a bit troubled by this situation as he could not help but think that these Werewolves would still return to cause him trouble. At the end of the day, killing them might be the best course of action.

However, since they had already escaped, Lin Ke could not ask Dra to chase after them. These Werewolves were familiar with this forest, if he were to ask the Heroes to head in, their enemies would have the home-field advantage.

Furthermore, he could not guarantee his own safety if he decided to weaken the defenses on his side.

"Alright, the threat's been dealt with. Avina, Lucy, if you girls are still hungry, there's a river nearby for you to catch some fish. However, I haven't personally been there before, so ask Dra about it if you want."

As Lin Ke walked back into the Elemental Tower, he glanced at the Elemental Guards who did not even get to move. He could not help but sigh.

Those two girls were too powerful, ending the battle before he even knew it. He did not even get to test the Elemental Guards' strength at all in the end.

However, he was quite happy with the developments. Dra and Avina's combat prowess was out of this world, with their protection, Lin Ke could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
