When no answer came from inside, Jian began to turn the door handle. I looked at the rattling door and trembled.

‘Isn’t that door going to break because it’s old?’

What should I do if she opens it? Should I just kick her and run away? As I contemplated on my choices, Jian opened her mouth again.

“Young Lady Edith Abina! Young Lady…!”

BANG BANG!

I was taken aback by her knocking on the door and crying my name out loud. What is she trying to do?

I had no choice but to open the door and stuck out my head without fully unlocking the lock. I didn’t even want to let others know I was here, knowing I used Lirina’s name to buy Adrian.

“What are you doing here, saintess?”

“Young Lady! I’m glad you’re safe!”

Jian smiled broadly after checking my bitter face. She opened her mouth, pushing her gentle face close through the cracks of the door.

“Can you open the door for me?”

Why is she so obsessed with the door?

I shook my head firmly as I looked at her face blocked and pressed by the door a bit grotesquely.

“I don’t want to. If you have anything to say, say it outside the door.”

“First of all, I-I want to apologize to the Young Lady. No matter how worried I was, I was wrong to let the man know who Young Lady was. I’m sorry.”

I don’t know if her intention can be called a mistake, but I listened to her words with one ear and let them spill out the other.

“Yes, I will accept your apology. Now go back.”

Nodding roughly, I pushed the door close, but Jian put her hand in between the gaps and cried out, “Now, wait a minute!”

“Take your hand out, or you’ll get hurt,” I said indifferently, losing no strength in pushing on the door.

“Don’t you want to expose the Marquis?!”

As if it didn’t hurt, Jian continued as she blocked the closing door with her long spider-like arms.

“I know what he did to you! I’ll help Edith accuse him before the temple!”

I frowned at Jian’s hasty words.

“How does Jian know that the Marquis tried to do something terrible to me?”

“Err, Curtis told me.”

She’s flying around and light-mouthed.

I smiled as I recalled Curtis’ heartless face.

“I’ll take care of the Marquis myself. Saint, I don’t need your help, so please leave me alone.”

Jian chewed her lips nervously at my mocking words.

“I can’t leave Edith alone,” she murmured.

“Why?”

“Because I’m a saint. It’s my duty to help people in need.”

Stunned, I shrugged my shoulders at Jian’s excuse.

“There are a lot of people who are struggling, straight that way and turn left. They are all over the place. Help them instead.”

I gave Jian the location of the street beggars, but instead of leaving for the more needy, she clung more tightly to the door.

“No, I really want to help the Young Lady. I am responsible for you being in this situation.”

“I mean, damn it,” I said as my eyes turned cold toward Jian, who was like a leech, “I said I don’t need your help.”

BANG!

When I pushed the door so hard it made a noise, Jian shook her arm, but she didn’t fall from the door.

“Get out of here. Why are you so dumb?” I told her.

“Hey, Young Lady… Ugh, how could you say such a harsh word?”

I glared my eyes at the tearful Jian, and replied, “Do you want to get hit again? Do you want me to rip your mouth so you won’t make a fuss the next time?”

I really meant it. I wanted to grab that pretty face and rip her apart. I’m having a hard time because of her. Why is she disturbing me in the first place?!

I knew Edith was obsessed with Curtis, but there was no reason for Jian to disturb me now. at least if it was the game story I knew.

“Huuu… But this time, Young Lady is really in danger! Please believe me!”

Jian, who began to cry, trembled and started pleading. It was repulsive.

“I saw the Marquis Abina running wild, saying that Young Lady made debt to the Marquis.”

I trembled at Jian’s words.

“…Where?”

“Right around here. I was looking for the Young Lady.”

<WARNING> The Marquis of Abina is approaching.
