Chapter 14: The Persona

Anastasia Honchar's POV

I blinked as he was pinning me down on the floor. My shirt was lifted a bit and exposed my midriff a bit. I can feel the chill air that was passing through my body. I gulped as I saw his usual emerald orbs were now darker with something else. Like blood.

Damn it!

Now I know why Marco was not himself all around. He needs to surpass this side of him under control and I have provoked it. Provoked. He smirked as he knows that I just realized what I have done to myself.

"so, the little red rabbit was afraid now. Where's your strength now, Princess?" He said as he was chuckling. darkly. It did nothing to make me go afraid or scared. instead, I was turned on. Turned on. I was breathing heavily as I can sense he was trying to calculate me.

"Who are you?" I managed to get my voice out as I looked at him. He chuckled as I was caressed by him. His touch was ten times intense than normal.

"Well, I was your psycho, remember? And now that I am, you don't know me?" He said as he was leaning closer to sniff me. sniff me? Oh my god, he was insane.

"what do you want?" I whispered to him before clearing my throat and spoke again.

"what do you want?"

He smirked. I cannot tell that my stomach was rolling because of fear or the feeling of sensation that left me whenever I was intrigued by something. yup, definitely the latter one.

"I have been looking forward to meeting you but I don't think that we would be meeting like this," he said as he stopped in front of me. I gulped.

"What do you mean?" I asked him. He smirked as he looked at me with his eyes.

"Well, you can say that I have been fancied you for quite some time now but to shame, Marco Conti would not let me and now that he was distracted, I can slip out of his conscious," he said as he was walking toward me. I took a step back.

"well, don't be shy. I thought you were stronger than this. And since you said that you can handle anything, why don't you show me?" He said as he was talking over me. Fear struck me but I had been trained for this. I was stronger than this.

"I'm not afraid of you," I said. He chuckled. I was looking for an exit, a weapon, anything!

"well, let's begin," he said before coming at me. I was unprepared for it. I have to make sure that I was not one of his victims. well, let the game begin.

I went to take daggers from the table that was out on the other side of the room. I was running toward him as I was reaching out for it. But Marco was faster, he was pulling my ankle before I can grab for it.

"damn it," I cursed under my breath before I went to kick him. He blocked it like he was expecting it. I was gritting my teeth. now, Marco has all my legs and I don't know what to say. I have to think fast or I might not get out of here alive. Marco chuckled.

"so, you are not as you claimed to like you did," he said as he went to pull me toward him. I was waiting for the right moment before I bumped his head. okay, that was the worst idea ever because his head was thick as a log but he was not pulling my legs again.

I went to get the daggers and it was in my hands. I held it in front of me and I was ready to fight Marco. He was not holding anything. He just smirked at me.

"is that the best you can do?" He asked before I went to attack him. He just smirked before he moved out of my attacks. I stretched my hands as I went to thrust the daggers into his body, trying to get a scratch or anything to make a point that I can do whatever I claimed that I can.

I was putting the dagger to his side but he twisted my hand to the other way around and the other one, my left hand, was being held by its wrist. I winced as Marco was holding it tightly before he gripped the other one as well and twisted me around so my back was onto his chest.

"now, that you are in this situation, how will you escape, hmm?" He asked me before he licked my neck. I gasped but the burning sensation of his tongue on my skin did something to my core. My feminine core was dancing with need, desire, lust. Something new was happening to my body.

"I see that you like that. so, what's going to be? How do you escape?" He asked again as I was holding the daggers closed to my hands. I was trying to get away as I writhed under him, only to make him tighter.

"Now, all you have to do was let loose your fingers and flip it under yourself and you slip behind. ready? go," he said as I did what he said. I released the daggers and went down under as he said. He looked at me as I was laying on the floor the second my daggers were out of my hands.

Marco chuckled as I looked up to him as he turned to look at me. His eyes were different. It was the original colors.

"How did you—"

"what?" He asked me as I was talking nonsense. I know for sure that he was just a different character just now. I blinked a few times as I looked at him.

"you're not him," he raised an eyebrow at me.

"I don't know what you were talking about," he said before he took the daggers and threw it at the targets. Perfect score, again. I released my breath. yeah, I think I was delusional about him having the second persona.

"or do you think that I don't know how to control my own?" He asked again, immediately chills run through my veins. It was the other persona, the darker side of Marco.

"so, if I am like Marco Conti, you will let me be near you?" He said before he turned around and his eyes were darker than before. I gulped.

"Who are you?" I asked him as I was looking at him. He chuckled before he smirked at me as he looked into my eyes.

"Marco Thorn, a pleasure to meet you, Princess," he tipped his head before his eyes rolled up and he was stumbling backward. I went to save Marco, which one was it, again? I held his head before he was on my laps. I was cradling him before he was breathing heavily.

"Marco? Marco! Wake up, please," I whispered as I was caressing his cheeks. I cannot even believe my voice as it barely came out like a whisper.

"Hmm, hmm," he stirred as he was rolling his side before he opened his eyes. His emerald orbs were staring at me as I sighed with relief. Then, he took a look at our position before he smirked at me. I blushed.

"well, this was getting better and better every day," he said before he went to sit up. He groaned as he was rubbing his temples.

"what happened?" He asked. I looked at him as I don't just hear him asking me the question that I should be asking!

"What happened? What happened is that you were flipping me out like it was nothing. What happened is that you believe that you have a different personality," I snapped before I gasped.

"what do you mean?" He asked me. I grunted before I went to sit up. I should have never told him anything. I was about to leave before he took my wrist.

"so, you saw it?" He asked me. I stopped as I looked at him. His expression was unreadable before I nodded. He sighed.

"I have been meaning to keep it as a secret but my friend told me that you can cure it," he said as he looked up at me. My eyebrows were knotted together.

"Friend? What kind of friend?" I asked him. He smiled as he was remembering his memory.

"Mia Duncan. We were in an organization together and I was the head of the chemist over there. One day, they asked me to develop a super serum that can help us be a better assassin, the greatest. But then, it went wrong and I have been played. so, I helped Mia and her husband, Liam to take them down. It has been a while but the effect was still there," he said as he looked at me. Oh My Gosh! He just confessed his darkest secret. What should I do? How should I react?

"so, what? You need my help now but by the looks of it, you are not helping yourself to be better acquainted with me," I said as I was trying to keep my tone neutral. so, he has been friends with Mia and Liam? What about other women, Alfred or Val?

"well, I was trying okay but you were really tough to get through and by the looks of it, I don't have much time left," he said before he stood up as he released my hand. He groaned and immediately my concern was on him.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Was he going to die? He chuckled.

"They will come for me," he said before leaving me inside the warehouse.
