Chapter 37: The Possessed

Kyle Conti's POV

After Alina fell asleep on the bed, I went out to get some fresh air. It was almost midnight but being new as a creature of the night, I have more energy than I never knew I had since I was a human. I felt alive with my senses being more sensitive and all. I went out of the lodge as I locked it to not wanting Alina being in danger. I went to the pavement of the trail as I went up to get some fresh air and looked out the view.

I was walking up the pavement when something was disturbing. I sensed that I was being followed. I thought it was only my imagination but now that it has been 15 minutes or so, I knew it was not my imagination.

"if you don't want to get smush, you better come out now!" I shouted into the woods as I looked around my surrounding.

"I count until 3. 1…2…3…" I said before something was flying through my face and I can feel the smoke was getting inside my mouth before I passed out and I was in the darkness, not knowing what just happened.

I tried to open my eyes as I was passing out on the trail, in the middle of the night. I cannot feel my legs and arms and I felt like I was talking as someone else was controlling my own body.

"What was happening?" I thought as I looked out with my eyes. I saw that Alina was being hurt and no one else was there. It's only me and her.

"what is going on?!" I shouted at the top of my lungs but I knew that I don't have the power to control what my body did. I saw some stones were flying toward Alina but thankfully she managed to get out the harm way.

"Alina! Can you hear me?!" I shouted at the top of my lungs as I was trying to get it out.

"Alina, Alina. Alina!" I shouted before I was shut down again in the darkness.

Alina Dalca's POV

After Kyle said that he was possessed by Jason, I knew that I have to get him out of Kyle's body. I don't ever encounter the dead possessing a living thing but I have to try to get Jason out of him.

"What do you want, Jason? I thought you were gone for good when I have killed you 2 years ago," I said as I did not hide the fact that I was the one that responsible to kill him.

"Ah, getting more open, are we? well, aren't you a changed woman? It's just that I was sad that my ex was not inviting me to her wedding. so, how was married life? Enjoying it much?" He said as he was smirking at me.

I wanted to gag as he was trying to smooth-talking to me with his vampire power. I knew that I don't get infected by him but I have to get him out of Kyle no matter what. Suddenly something happened. I can sense that Kyle was coming to surface in his own body.

"What was going on?" Kyle's voice was coming out of his mouth before he scooted down on the ground.

"This new husband of yours is really strong. I was surprised to know that he just turned into the creature of the night just a couple weeks ago. It must have been his fate to be undead with you," he said as he was looking at me before he stood up.

"but it is time to get you both dead. Too bad he just get to know about you just a bit shorter than I did," he said as he waved his hands and some stones were flying toward me. I got enough strength to get out of their way. I have to think of something before Jason stuck in that body forever.

"well, what can I say? Kyle was a natural at being a vampire," I said as I wanted to make him go mad and lose focus.

"Argh, you always like this, Alina. No matter, I will make you regret you ever choose him over me," Jason said as he was coming at me. I jumped from my spot as I landed on the branch of the tree above his head.

"hahaha, you never changed, you know. I can always enjoy you more like this," Jason said before he waved his hand but he stopped in his action as he was scooting to the ground again.

"Alina. Alina. Alina!" Kyle was shouting at the top of his lungs as he looked at me. His green orbs were coming to life before he scooted again. This time, there was no green orbs. No Kyle's warmth, nothing. I can't sense our bond as I looked at the body of Kyle in front of me. His hair has changed from blonde to black and his eyes into a fiery red.

"Well, now that he was out of the way, let's have some fun, shall we?" Jason said as he was coming closer to me. I tried to run but he waved his hands and used his power on me as he grabbed me closer and closer to him.

"Alina, I have been waiting for so long," he said as I was being pulled slowly by him.

"now, we shall be together, forever," he said as I looked into his eyes and he was smiling darkly at me with the thoughts that could ruin me, forever and Kyle was not here to save me.

Kyle Conti's POV

I was waking up from that darkness again. This time I don't know what had happened as I have been locked out of my own body. I don't know what to do. I just moving around and I was trying to get inside the soul that possessed me.

"I need to help Alina. She might be in danger," I thought as I was trying to get inside the control of my body. My soul was trying to push the darkness that was controlling my body right now.

"Alina, I need you. Help me," I said at the top of my lungs so that Alina may hear it. I hope she does. Now, time to get inside the controller of my body. I pushed through the darkness as I went toward the tunnel that was shining with light. I knew that must be the source of this weirdness.

"Open my heart and hope to die. yeah, that went like that," I said as I was pushing through the tunnel and I saw an unfamiliar figure of smoke that was floating around.

"Well, hello Kyle. Looks like you decided to join the party after all," the smoke said as it was facing me, I guess.

"get out of my body, you smoke. I don't need you," I said as I was trying to gain control of my own body back.

"ah, ah, ah. You might want to reconsider that as your beloved has been defeated by yourself and you are the only one to blame," it said before I was sucked back into the darkness.

"no, Alina!" I shouted before the tunnel was shutting down in front of me.

"Having fun, aren't we, love?" Jason said as I was trying to gain my strength after I was being smashed to the tree. I can feel that my back was hurting me but I don't have time for this. I have to save Kyle and I was the only one that knew the word. I just need the right time and spot to suck it out of Kyle's body. I have to draw a pentagram so that my magic will work on him.

"hey, ugly," I exclaimed. Jason hated it when I called him that. He snarled at me as he looked at me fiercely.

"let see if you can catch me," I said as I went toward the forest. I have to draw lightning speed so that I can get him inside the pentagram. damn, I never thought that I will be a parttime witch.

"be it a circle and a star, I want you to hold him for me here and now," I chanted as I went to draw the pentagram and hoped that Jason will fall for it.

"You will never outrun me, Alina, cause I will always be a champion," he said as he went inside the pentagram.

"hold it there right now, take his feet and arms to the ground," I chanted as I waved my hands in front of me. Jason was stuck inside the pentagram before he snarled at me.

"why you little," he hissed before I continued my chanting, closed my eyes as I sensed Kyle was trying to get out of there.

"Inde praecipiam Tibi ut eam amplius nonaccedere Regno mortalibus," I chanted before I saw that the smoke was coming out of Kyle.

"nonquam non-reverteur" I continued before a portal was opening and sucked the smoke away.

"NO!!!" It shouted before the portal closed and Kyle was dropping to the ground.

"Kyle!" I said before I vampiric run to get him. He landed on my laps as I was sitting on the ground. He was so quiet as I thought that he was dead.

"No, no, no!" I said as I tried to slap him on the face.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up!" I said as I was slapping his face.

"Damn it," I said before I can sense that my tears were pooling at my eyes.

"Kyle, no!" I shouted at the top of my lungs as I can saw the birds were flying out of the forest.

"wake up, please," I said as I was touching my forehead with him.

"Please, I need you," I said before lights were coming from his body for a little while. It stopped and I looked at him. He was still quiet before suddenly he coughed so loudly that he jumped from his sleep. He gasped before he looked around.

"what happened? Where am I? Am I out now?" He asked before he looked at me. I sobbed as I looked at him before I hugged him and kissed him hard on the lips with my emotion that was glad he was saved.
