In the land of Xi, crafting skills is not that rare. Blacksmiths, jeweler, and others exist everywhere. So immortals don't waste their time in learning crafting skills, many of them disdain the profession itself. For in the land of Xi, only commoners do these things and not the noble immortals.

As an engineer in his previous life Shin Jiao is curious at the level of craft that can be found in this land of Xi. So to expand his horizon, he plans to learn and take up the role of the inheritor of the immortal crafting technique that the old man is giving him.

"Young lad, knowledge comes with a price and what I need from you is perseverance and patient to learn. But before we can start…"

Gu Bu scrutinize the youth from top to bottom, and then he smiled.

Feeling the old man's gaze, Shin Jiao felt shivers down his spine.

"Old man you are not some pervert right?"

"What? You insolent brat!" the old man angrily scowled.

"I was just checking you meridian points in your body to see how I can turn you into a mortal cultivator!"

Gu Bu was annoyed for being called a pervert.

Waving his hands to dismiss the topic, he went to the tree and from somewhere took out 20 jade slips.

"These are the basics of crafting that you must learn first. After I open up your meridians my spirit strand will disappear, so you must persevere on your own and learn."

"Wait… Wait, what? You're going to just leave? How do I get out of this place? What should I do next?"

Panic and confusion can be seen in Shin Jiao's face.

"After I open you meridians I will send the needed information in your mind and will automatically appear if you need it so. So any information that you needed will be there."

Upon hearing this Shin Jiao heave a sigh of relief, at least he won't go through blindly.

Floating in the air the old man positioned himself behind Shin Jiao and delivered a gentle palm strike on his shoulder which jolted the young man. With a feeling like electricity slowly crawling all over his body, he was scared at first but excitement slowly filled his heart. Although he felt a little pain all over he didn't utter a word he just gritted his teeth and bore the pain. A bit of time had passed, then he felt a cool sensation all over and in his mind new information can be seen flowing.

With a fading voice the strand of Gu Bu's spirit slowly disappear.

"Remember my legacy can make you one of the greatest immortals, but be careful and do not show your crafted artifacts until the time that you can protect yourself. Remember and good luck, make me proud."

With that the strand disappear with a puff of smoke.

Alone, Shin Jiao digested everything he learned and as his previous life habits he arrange everything in his mind and followed what the old man taught, from reading the jade slips to getting in and out of the space. He also learned the reason why the old man called this space his mansion. Because this is actually a small world he created in another dimension. And the marble like object is the key to entering this world.

He also learned the basic cultivation technique that can help him become strong. But the cultivation style differs greatly from the one in the land of Xi. So he formed a conclusion that this cultivation technique is not from this world.

Compare with the land of Xi's cultivation technique with 9 levels each starting from: Body refining, Spirit refining, core forming, golden core, infant soul forming, nascent immortal, earth severing nascent, heavenly severing nascent, Saint immortal, and Deity, the cultivation style that the old man showed in his mind is really simple and straightforward.

All he have to do is absorb spiritual energies until it fills up a sphere like thingy floating within his dantian. Once it is filled another sphere will appear which signifies him leveling up.So the more spheres he has in his dantian the stronger his power is.

According to the old man's instruction, he need to reach level 5 before he can access the 20 jade slips, for only when he has enough spiritual energy can he communicate with the information inside the jade slips.

So without any squabble Shin Jiao sat down cross-legged and started to follow the cultivation technique in his mind. After sometime he can see different specks of colors in his surroundings; blue, red, white, purple, yellow and green. Then the information about these colors appear in his mind; blue is water energy, red is fire energy, white is holy energy, purple is dark energy, yellow is wind energy and green is earth energy.

In the land of Xi if a person has low affinity to all types of energy, then that person is considered as normal and will have a hard time cultivating. In short he is considered as a mortal.

But in right now Shin Jiao must absorb all types of energy simultaneously in a balance manner, absorbing too much of any of these types will make the sphere inside his dantian release all the energy which is considered as absorption failure and he had to start over again.

"I have to focus more and get the rhythm in absorbing all the energy types… I guess what the old man said about perseverance and patience can be tested here. I'm not the one to give up easily…"

With a determined heart Shin Jiao started his first step in cultivation.

As time flows by, Shin Jiao failed multiple times in his attempt to simultaneously absorb all the types of energies. But he persevere, and with patience he continued even when he started feeling his body getting numb from the time he spend cultivating. After half a day he finally made progress and gets the rhythm of absorption and developed his own way cultivation. He discovered something strange about his dantian, the instructions the old man showed him was to let the energies flow from his fingers to following his meridian and then to his dantian. This way his meridian will improve and grow stronger. But his dantian absorbs faster than what his meridians can handle so his rate is too slow. He don't know what to do about it so he just accept this condition and work hard to cultivate.

He was really engage in his cultivation that 3 days have already passed and the 1st sphere was finally full of energy and a second sphere now slowly formed. This success made him feel happy and proud of himself. With this experience he noticed that if he just cultivate by absorbing the raw energy in his environment it will take him almost 3 days to fill a sphere in his dantian with combined energy.

"It's really takes a long time to just fill a sphere. Sigh… I guess I'll just have to work hard then."

This made Shin Jiao frown, because it will take him too long just to improve his strength. He need to spend almost 6 days just to fill 2 spheres which takes too much of his time. He need to find another way to make his cultivation speed go faster.
