Chapter 112 – School Play

After their short nap on the hill that was blessed by the stars, Takei and Akari went back to the hotel where everyone else was waiting.

They all were grinning annoyingly at the idiot couple, which made Takei and Akari feel a slight hint of embarrassment as a result.

In addition to the original group, Haruto was already waiting there in order to pick them up and take them home.

It wouldn't be an overnight trip this time due to some obligations and responsibilities that some of the others had to take care of, but they promised that the next group trip would definitely be an overnight stay.

After making sure that they had everything, Haruto promptly drove everyone home.

As a result of the busy and exhausting beach trip, everyone proceeded to sleep throughout the entire following day.

After spending the entirety of Sunday recovering, Takei was refreshed and ready to go to school on Monday without any fatigue.

At least, that's what he thought before Takei factored in the concept of muscle fatigue.

Due to the increased amount of exercise he got during the beach trip, Takei's muscles were screaming in agony because they weren't accustomed to being used so much.

Waking up Monday morning was absolute hell for him since getting out of bed was causing every fiber of his being to groan in agony.

Why didn't I feel the fatigue the day after? Is there even such a thing as delayed muscle fatigue? Haha, I can really just chalk it up to my bad luck, can't I?

When Akari came over in the morning, she had a look of concern as she watched Takei struggle to move around the house.

"Your health is the most important thing in the world, so please don't push yourself..."

Akari came over and held Takei's face in her hands as she worried for his current state.

Takei felt happy that Akari was worried for his well-being, but he didn't want her to worry about him any more than she already was.

"I'm okay, just a little bit fatigued. I'll be better once I move around some more and get adjusted to the rhythm of daily life again."

Putting on a strong front, Takei smiled at Akari as he fixed his poor walking posture to emphasize his improving condition.

Akari pursed her lips since she knew that Takei wasn't telling the complete truth in worry that she would be concerned for him.

She didn't want to push the topic since Takei seemed fine at the current moment, but doing nothing would make her feel like a bad girlfriend.

Luckily for her, a bright idea just so happened to pop up inside of her head at the best moment possible.

Akari walked up to the still slightly limping Takei and wrapped her arm around his arm.

She was now doing the classic couple arm-holding technique that made all normal people extremely jealous.

"Urm..."

Takei was elated to feel the heavenly mountains press against him, but his natural bashfulness began to shine through.

Akari giggled once she realized that Takei was acting all shy and embarrassed.

"This is my way of refilling up on Takeinium~"

"Is that even a real thing?!"

On the outside, Akari used that silly joke as a cover for her true intentions.

In reality, she wanted Takei to be able to rely on her if he needed to stabilize his walking or needed a rest.

Takei looked outside about the situation, but he wholeheartedly accepted it after a few moments.

Putting on his genuinely happy smile that only Akari got to see, Takei left the house with her in order to go to school.

On the way to school, he could sense that there were many other males that were staring at him as if it was his fault for having a cute girlfriend.

Ignore them. You were once one of them, so take some pity!

Takei rebuked himself in his mind as he felt bad for thinking like a normie.

Once they reached the school, Takei unlinked arms from Akari because he didn't want the whole school to hate him for something so commonplace amongst couples.

Akari slightly pouted, which resulted in a quick pat on the head by Takei in order to soothe her dissatisfied aura.

As they entered the first floor of the school, they noticed that there was a big group of people gathering around a poster.

Piquing their interest, Takei and Akari pushed their way through the crowd to see what was going on.

Takei noticed that Eiji was near the front of the line, which prompted him to move towards Eiji in order to see what was happening.

"Mornin', what's with the commotion?"

"Hey, Takei, Akari. Morning to you two. As you can tell, today's been a hectic morning for everyone here so far."

Eiji pointed at the poster that seemed to have details for a special event that was happening soon.

Looking even closer, Takei read the specifications of the poster.

There was apparently going to be a play that adapted the classic Romeo and Juliet storyline that everyone knew and loved.

The school had promised to fund the play, but the students would have to nominate other students for the roles.

This seems interesting, but I don't really have much interest in school plays...

Takei made up his mind about the school play and decided not to spare it a second thought.

He grabbed Akari's hand and decided to leave the area before any weird event could happen.

"Let's hope we don't get wrapped up in this..."

Takei mumbled to no one in particular as he walked away from the growing crowd.

Even though Takei thought that there was no way he would be entangled in this event, reality would not be so kind as to let his youth be wasted away.
