Chapter 113 – Sticky Situation

"Please! We'll do anything!"

"No."

Not even a whole hour had passed before a swarm of students went up to Takei and begged him to let Akari be a part of the play.

The student body really wanted the goddess to take the part of Juliet for the play, but they knew that it wouldn't be possible unless they had Takei's permission first.

Takei kept on denying their advances on him because he didn't want to accept or deny anything on Akari's behalf.

Even if his consciousness was telling him to monopolize Akari, he knew that she was her own person and it would go against his own ideals and belief to try and control her.

Once class let out, Takei rushed over to Akari's classroom in order to discuss this situation with her as quickly as possible.

Arriving at the door of Class 1-B greeted Takei with swarms of people trying to enter the classroom.

There was a long line wrapping around the hallway which was obviously consisting of people that were waiting to see the goddess.

Pushing through the crowd, Takei managed to get inside the classroom with a small bead of sweat trickling down his forehead as a show of his effort.

He spotted the radiantly glowing golden hair being swarmed by a sea of people which immediately put Takei in a fight-or-flight state of mind.

Takei quickly rushed over to where Akari was being held captive and caught some of the words that were being said to her.

"Please join the play! We can't operate without you!"

"The play might be cancelled if you don't join..."

"No one else could play the role of Juliet but you!"

Takei was quite irritated to hear Akari being pressured by these selfish students.

"Tch."

He noticed that there was a second wave of students that were blocking him off from his desired goal, so Takei pushed through the whole barricade of people without any remorse.

"I'm sorry, please give me some time to decide."

Akari was constantly bowing towards everyone while also deflecting the question.

It was truly the work of an efficient communicator who was in their prime.

"Akari!"

Finally reaching her, Takei gently grasped her hand and pulled Akari out of the crowd of students.

Akari seemed happy to see him, as evident by the relieved expression on her face.

She let Takei take care of the rest as she tiredly clung to his body while they made their way out of the classroom and onto the rooftop.

Once they finally arrived at the rooftop, Takei gently laid Akari's body down on the ground while simultaneously resting her head on his lap.

In short, he was giving her a head pillow to heal her mental exhaustion.

"It must've been tough on you..."

Takei spoke in a calm voice as he carefully stroked Akari's soft hair.

It was a bit frizzier and stiffer than normal, which reflected her disoriented state of mind.

With a weak smile, Akari nodded and embraced Takei's lower waist.

"It wasn't anything that I wasn't used to, but tiring is definitely the understatement of the century."

After hearing Akari trying to lighten the mood, Takei let out an exasperated sigh.

"Why are there so many troublesome people with selfish wishes in this world?"

Takei was sick of all the selfish people that he had encountered in his short lifetime.

Selfishness was okay and good to have, but only up to a certain point.

As a result of Takei getting mad on her behalf, Akari tried her best to stifle back a cute giggle.

"Heehee~ My boyfriend's the cutest!"

In response to Akari's adorable murmurs, Takei was conflicted on how to address them.

Being called cute by my girlfriend hurts my ego a bit, but her cuteness regenerates it immediately. Am I stuck in an infinite loop now?!

After doing a bit of goofing around in his head in order to clear his head, Takei decided to address the elephant in the room.

"Y'know, there's no reason for you to say yes. You have every right to refuse the decision."

Takei really didn't want Akari to participate in the play, unless it was by her own will.

"I know that, but..."

Oh boy, I feel like something is about to happen.

Akari passionately looked into Takei's eyes and revealed the true reason for her hesitation.

"I want to star in the play with you. Romeo and Juliet would be a fun thing to star in if both of us were in it. So please, will you indulge my selfish wish?"

Pulling out her strongest card, Akari activated her trademarked puppy eyes that could deplete Takei's health in one shot.

Once they were activated, there was no chance of survival for our beloved main character.

"Yeah, okay. I'll audition for the role with you."

With nothing to protect him from the onslaught of Akari's combos, Takei folded and decided to go along with Akari's whims.

"Yayyy~ You're the best!"

Akari's expression immediately got brighter once she realized that Takei was willing to join the play for her sake.

As a show of affection, she started to rub her cheek against his hand as if she was a little kitten in need of some attention.

Takei smiled at the rare sight of an undignified goddess.

Whenever Akari's normal mature vibe faded and her childish side began to appear, Takei would do his best to enjoy the gap between personalities as much as possible.

"I guess it's spoiling time?"

"Mmmm..."

Akari closed her eyes while also relaxing her body as Takei slowly but gently brought her into his embrace.

They wrapped each other in their combined warmth with both parties refilling their own respective versions of romanticium.

To be exact, Takeinium and Akarinium were the elements inside of their body that needed to be refilled in order for the sugary aura to take effect.

The discovery of these new elements were all thanks to the idiot couple's ever-evolving strawberry aura.

Surprisingly, it seems that the sugary aura was finally able to do something good for once.

However, there were too many casualties at this point to even consider this as an ethical discovery.

Rest in peace you poor souls, and thank you for your sacrifice.

Your names will be etched into the very echelons of history!
