Chapter 39 - The Scarlet Demon Of The Hills

"I understand what you've been through and how her death affected you, That's why I have full faith that you'll change for the better" Shizen stated.

"You don't have to worry, I won't tell Haru nor anyone that you're still alive Geiru" Shizen stated shocking Geiru.

"It's not up to me to decide that, when the time comes I want you to return back from the shadows to the new Kingdom we built" Shizen stated.

"But only return once you finally found your true self" Shizen added as he then walks away from Geiru.

"That idiot..." Geiru muttered as tears pour down from his eyes.

"After everything that's happened, he still has faith for Elementalist like me" He added.

"I also forgot to mention, go and visit Kaena's grave and apologize to her" Shizen yelled.

"It's the least you can do after everything you've done, I'm sure she's pretty worried about you" Shizen added as he then dashes upwards a tree as he the travelled from branch to branch saying goodbye to his old friend.

Shizen then arrives back tot he place where Ryūsei was fighting and to his surprise everything in the area in front of him was completely destroyed.

He then searches the area to find his little brother but to no luck he didn't find him.

"Damn it, Where could Ryūsei be?!" Shizen muttered as he was worried.

As he was about to leave the area to go and find Haru, He then heard a huge explosion coming from the south causing a devastating earthquake.

Without immediate hesitation Shizen immediately heads toward the area where the explosion came from and to his surprise he saw his little brother Ryūsei fighting a Elementalist with a red hood.

"Meteor Dragon Impact!!!" Ryūsei then chanted a spell releasing a barrage of Meteor Dragon energy heading straight for the Elementalist with the red hood.

The barrage of energy then hits the Elementalist with the red hood but unfortunately he didn't hit flinched at all.

The Elementalist with red hood took the spell head on and fortunately the spell the Ryūsei chanted didn't leave a scratch on him.

The Elementalist with red hood then releases a powerful fire wave from his right palm and it's heading straight for Ryūsei.

"Nature Dragon Bark Prison" Shizen then chanted a spell and a large tree bark appeared in front of Ryūsei intercepting the powerful fire blast.

"Shizen!!" Ryūsei muttered as Shizen slowly approaches him.

"I'm glad you're safe Ryūsei, Sorry I'm late" Shizen stated as he then glares at the Elementalist wearing the red hood.

"Another one" The Elementalist with the red hood stated.

"You came from the eastern side, Have you not?" The Elementalist with the red hood asked.

"Yeah, So what if I did" Shizen replied.

"Which means our idiotic leader got defeated and the ritual has been ruined" The Elementalist with the red hood stated as flames then started to appear from his hands.

"Surrender now, The hostages you've captured are secured and all of your comrades have fallen" Shizen stated.

"Comrades?" The Elementalist with the red hood laughed causing both Shizen and Ryūsei to be a bit confused.

Flames then started to appear covering the area where the red hood Elementalist is standing.

The flames then spread far enough even the Elementalist who were defeated by Ryūsei was caught in the flames.

Both Ryūsei and Shizen were shocked as they couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"Meteor Dragon Impact!!" Ryūsei chanted a spell and a barrage of energy then headed straight for the red hood Elementalist.

"Dragon Sage Secret Art: Overgrowth Bloom" Shizen then chanted a spell and a mysterious green aura then surrounded his entire body.

The red hood Elementalist easily dodges the barrage of Meteor Dragon energy but unfortunately Shizen suddenly appeared in front of him.

"What in the hell are you doing!!!" Shizen yelled in anger as he slams the red hood Elementalist's face to the ground destroying his mask.

Flames then began to surround the red hood Elementalist and the fire then surrounded Shizen's hand burning him directly.

Even though his hand was covered in flames, Shizen didn't let go of the red hood Elementalist

"Meteor Dragon Photon Switch" Ryūsei then chanted a spell and he instantly appeared in front of Shizen.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Fist" Ryūsei chanted a spell gathering a tremendous amount of Meteor Dragon energy in his right hand.

He then punches the red hood Elementalist tearing a huge hole in his stomach.

The impact of the attack created a tremendous shockwave creating a huge crater understand the red hood Elementalist and putting out all the flames in the surrounding area in the process.

"Are you alright Shizen?" Ryūsei worriedly asked as he looks at Shizen's burnt hand.

"I'm fine, It's nothing to be worried about" Shizen happily replied as he shows his burnt hand to Ryūsei.

"It's healing right, So you don't have to be worried" Shizen added as the burnt marks on his hand slowly heals.

"You would've have gotten burnt if I hadn't attack all of a sudden" Ryūsei muttered.

"It's just that... I couldn't stand seeing something like that..." Ryūsei added.

"It's okay Ryūsei, He's not an Elementalist... People like him are worse than demons-" Shizen stated but unfortunately he then hears a sinister laugh coming from the crater.

"Demons huh?"

"People like me are worse than demons"

The Elementalist with the red hood slowly walks out from the crater with a huge hole in his stomach and his masked slowly falls apart.

Both Ryūsei and Shizen are shocked when the whole mask of the red hood Elementalist came off from his face.

"I am a demon" The red hood Elementalist stated as he laughs maniacally.

The sclera of his right eye became nothing but black and his pupils became red as the color of blood.

His right eye was then covered with red veins all around and his entire skin slowly turned to scarlet scales.

"Yes!! Yes!! Show me that frightened face of yours" The scarlet demon stated as the hole in his stomach slowly started to regenerate once more.

Flames then began surrounding the Demon's body burning the red cloak he was wearing revealing an orange gem at the center of his c.h.e.s.t.

The gem was a diamond shaped and it's colors was orange, It's surrounded by orange lines around the c.h.e.s.t which appears to be magma.

"It's been centuries since I had a decent fight with your kind" The Scarlet Demon stated as flames was released from his body creating some armor which appears to be made of flames.

"My name is Jigoku Rengoku, The Demon General of Purgatory" The Scarlet Demon stated.

"Let our fun begin" He added as he released a tremendous amount of flames from the ground creating a ring of flames around them destroying the surroundings burning them instantly.

The terrain they were in was a small battlefield with a few rocks around the area and they were completely surrounded by a ring of fire as if they were all trapped inside with the fire constantly burn as it soars up the sky.

"Shizen" Ryūsei muttered as he looks at his older brother.

"Listen Ryūsei... Things here are about to get dangerous..." Shizen stated.

"If thing got out of hand, I want you to run away from the area as far as you can" Shizen added.

"Shizen..." Ryūsei muttered but unfortunately he notices something of with his brother.

Shizen's whole body was shaking as he couldn't believe what he's seeing... He's afraid of what he's seeing...

"Nature Dragon Floral-" Shizen then chanted a spell but unfortunately in a split of a second the Scarlet Demon was then instantly in front of him.

The Scarlet Demon then grabs Shizen's head slamming his face to a nearby rock.

"Shizen!!" Ryūsei yelled

"Meteor Dragon Photon Switch-" Ryūsei then chanted a spell but before he could the Scarlet Demon then kicks him knocking him to a nearby boulder.

"Ryūsei..." Shizen muttered.

"I haven't forgotten about you" The Scarlet Demon stated as he then looks at Shizen.

His claws then were surrounded in flames as he pierced his huge claws at Shizen's right shoulder tearing a huge hole causing the inside of the wound to be instantly burned.

"Meteor Dragon Impact" Ryūsei then chanted a spell and a barrage of Meteor Dragon energy was released band it's heading straight for the Scarlet Demon.

The Scarlet Demon didn't bother to move in order to dodge the attack as he took it head on.

And too make matters worst the attack passed through the Scarlet Demon as his body turned to flames.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Blade" Ryūsei then chanted a spell and a white sword made of energy appears in his hand.

He then throws the white blade at the Scarlet Demon which passed through him once again as his body turned to flames.

The white blade hits a nearby burnt tree bark piercing it's blade through. The Scarlet Demon then releases a tremendous fire blast from it's mouth heading straight for Ryūsei.

The fire blast then hits Ryūsei causing a tremendous explosion destroying s large portion of the area nearby it.

"Ryūsei..." Shizen muttered.

The Scarlet Demon then glares at Shizen as he then pierced his claw once again but this time he stabbed his claw at Shizen's life should creating a huge hold once again.

The wounds from both if his shoulders are both burned as blood come out from it.

The white sword that pierced the burnt tree bark started to glow and in an instant Ryūsei teleported to the white sword with some of his clothes burnt and some parts if his body having few burnt marks.

"Let go off my brother!!" Ryūsei yelled in anger as he launches an assault on the Scarlet Demon.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Fist" Ryūsei then casted a spell and a tremendous amount of Meteor Dragon energy gathered in his right hand.

Unfortunately the attack once again passes through the Scarlet Demon as his body turned into flames.

The Scarlet Demon then releases a tremendous fire blast from his mouth once again hitting Ryūsei at point blank range.

It knocks Ryūsei back creating a tremendous explosion once again destroying everything nearby.

Ryūsei then quickly came out from the explosion with some of his clothes caught in flames as he dashes towards to the Scarlet Demon.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Fist" Ryūsei chanted the spell once again gathering a tremendous amount of Meteor Dragon energy in his right hand.

He then punches the Scarlet Demon once again in an uppercut like style but unfortunately like before it passed through him as his body turned to flames.

The Scarlet Demon then slashes Ryūsei with it's claws knocking him back to the tree where his white sword was pierced.

"More!!! More!!! I want to see your pathetic face suffer" The Scarlet Demon stated as flames then began surrounding his claws.

Ryūsei then grabbed the white sword that was pierced into the burnt tree bark as he quickly dashes to the Scarlet Demon.

"I want to see more suffering!!" The Scarlet Demon stated as his red eyes began to glow red.

Ryūsei then slashes his blade at the Scarlet Demon but unfortunately the white blade passed through it with every slash as the body if the Scarlet Demon turns to flame.

"Ryūsei...." Shizen muttered as he struggles to talked or even moved due to his injuries.

"Ryūsei.... Please run" Shizen added as he slowly faints.

The Scarlet Demon then glares at Shizen with the decision in mind to deliver a vital blow.

His claws then started to be covered in flames as he readies his final attack.

"Let go of him!!!" Ryūsei yelled.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Blade" Ryūsei then chanted a spell and a white blade made of Meteor Dragon energy appeared in his left hand.

With two white blades in his hand he then slashes the Scarlet Demon with full force trying to stop him from launching his attack.

But unfortunately none of Ryūsei's attack hits the Scarlet Demon as his body turned to flames whenever his white blade touches the Scarlet Demon.

With physical attacks and spells completely useless against the Scarlet Demon, Ryūsei kept on attack and attack non-stop.

The Scarlet Demon began getting annoyed with Ryūsei's continues attacking as he was just delaying the inevitable.

He then launches a point blank fire blast at Ryūsei once again knocking him back once again creating a huge explosion.

With Ryūsei out of his way, He then then launches his attack aimed directly at Shizen with the intent to kill.

"I said let go of him!!!!" Ryūsei yelled coming out from the explosion with most of his clothes burnt and his body covered with injuries.

The black ring in Ryūsei's finger started to glow as Ryūsei immediately dashes to the Scarlet Demon.

The black ring then transformed into the Dragon King's Blade as Ryūsei immediately got behind the Scarlet Demon stabbing him from the back using the Dragon King's Blade.
