234 CHAPTER 234: GAME OVER

She was walking on the aisle with petals scattered all around it. the faces that she was witnessing right now were filled with happiness but no one noticed the tears streaming from her eyes.

This is it. it's the end of her life, the end of her happy journey. In a couple of hours, she will be tide down to someone whom she doesn't love. Ah! She couldn't believe her fate. She will be with a total stranger.

Her face was fully covered just like the man who she was about to marry. This culture and tradition sucks! She should have at least get a glimpse of the man's face but according to their culture, it's bad luck. They can only see each other's faces after the wedding ceremony.

While walking, she was looking around trying to find her sister, Jane. Although she knew in her heart that it's futile to hope that she attended the damn wedding ceremony because she was totally against it.

Sadly, she couldn't see her anywhere. She must have gone home like Caleb. ah yeah, Caleb. her heart ached at the thought of that man. the man wanted to fight for her but she knew it would only go to waste. her parents might file a case against him for trying to coax her not to show up for the wedding.

"I'm so sorry, Caleb. Although I promised to stay with you and fight for you, looks like the proverb was right; it's easier said than done." She was talking to herself. then she remembered Elise.

"Elise, I'm very sorry. seems like I couldn't fulfill your last wish. I'm very sorry." then another tear started to flow from her eyes once again.

"The groom had arrived!" the host shouted and everyone went silent. Lisa was sitting on the chair provided for her and was waiting for the groom to occupy the empty sit beside her.

She looked at her groom's location. now it is his turn to walk on the aisle. she couldn't even see the man's face since it was fully covered like her. but looking at his body figure, she could guess that the man was on the same age as her or maybe older for a year or two. His physique is not that bad. She smirked when she suddenly recalls someone. He has the same physique like Caleb.

Her mood went down again. She couldn't forget about Caleb. guess he already went back to the Central state with Sahaya.

Before the man reach the area where he was standing, Lisa suddenly saw Jane who just came in. oh wait, did she just smile at her? anyway, Lisa couldn't be happier to see her even if she was against all these ordeals.

"Please face the altar." The bride and the groom heard the priest and so they did. Unknown to Lisa, the moment she faced the altar was the moment someone entered the church and sat beside Jane.

All throughout the ceremony, Lisa had been feeling a bit perturb. Seems like something is wrong. something isn't right but she can't tell what it is. Is it the man? she can't tell.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.

"I want to call the parents of the bride and the groom to light the candles and to zeal this marriage." The priest voiced.

After the parents have lighted the candles and gave their blessings, the bride and the groom took the candles and blew it off. then the priest spoke once again.

"What God has joined, let no man separates. Curse is the one who separates what God has join together through this sacred marriage." It was the final indication that the ceremony is about to finish.

"Now groom, take her hand and sealed this marriage with a kiss." The priest handed the woman's hand to the groom which he held tenderly.

Now, in their wedding tradition, the man can now remove the woman's veil when it's time to kiss her. he slowly lifts the veil and saw the beautiful woman whose make-up was obviously ruined from shedding a lot of tears. He grinned.

Lisa, on the other hand, closed her eyes and for the last time, she shed a bitter tear. It's done! She's doomed.

After a few seconds, she felt a warm lip that had covered hers. It's so soft and tender and was so inviting. Then a familiar scent envelope her nose. This scent… this scent… its…

The familiar scent hit her hard! Then her eyes widened in surprise. Impossible!

She could feel the man grinned. "Seems like you haven't forgot about that night, huh."

Caleb! but how come? Lisa couldn't speak a word. She was so shocked that she went into daze.

Is it really Caleb? or was she just dreaming?

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!" the priest shouted and everyone was clapping.

"Let's give this time for the groom to remove his veil." The priest silenced the crowd. Usually, in their culture, this is the most awaited part and Lisa is one of the people who was dying to see the man behind the veil.

1-2-3…!

Lisa suddenly staggered backwards and an outrageous surprise look was painted all over her face.

Lisa's parents and the groom's parents were all shocked to see a different face.

"What is happening here? You are not my son! Where is my son!" the mother of the groom was screaming frantically to where she was sitting.

"You!" Lisa's mom was holding her chest. she can't believe it! then murmurs started to echo inside the church.

"Where is my son? Anton? Anton?" the groom's mother started to shout. "You! whoever you are, I am going to sue you! even you!" she looked at Lisa's parents.

"Please believe me, we didn't know about this!" Sonia replied. "Father, please tell us that this ceremony is invalid! We have to rescind this marriage at once!"

"I'm sorry but I can't do that anymore. what's done has been done and what God has joined together, let no man separates." The priest answered.

Sonia was fully devastated and was about to be attacked by the groom's mom but she halted when she heard a familiar voice.

"Mom, please stop it!" a handsome young man who seems to be in his twenties was walking near them.

"Anton! What's the meaning of this?" her mom held his arms. "Did you purposely plan this?"

"Mom, I had never wanted to marry the woman whom I do not love. I hope you understand."

"Anton! Are you trying defy our tradition?" the woman burst in anger.

"No! I want to totally destroy it if I can't change it." he yelped in frustration.

All the people inside the church held their breaths in total shock.

"The final verdict was already made." One of the four pillars stood up and yelled. Everyone who was present at the conference hall went silent.

"The golden egg is the original one." He stated then everybody started to growl. Murmurs and disagreements could be heard. Of course Silver was the happiest person inside but no one had anticipated the next words from the man.

"But it was all decided that the golden egg will lose its power starting now."

Silver's eyes widened in shocked. "what? what are you saying?!" he was beyond mad.

"What I'm saying is that, this won't hold any power anymore, starting right now. the power to control the business world and the underground world will not be given to anyone who possess this mere shell."

"That's nonsense!" Silver shouted. "What's your basis of giving that kind of verdict?!"

"Do you know how the golden egg lost its power?" a man from the fundamental pillar stood up. Looks like he was their head since the first who stood up kowtowed respectfully before going back to his sit.

"As everyone know, this golden egg definitely holds an infinite power. But the moment you touched it, it loses its power."

"What do you mean?" Silver raised his brow.

"Article UG543, the golden egg shall lose all its ability once it was acquired by unjust means. The owner should be lawfully clean and haven't face any criminal charges within the past 6 months." The man smirked.

"Silver, the world is not blind. If you think you could use this to run away from your crimes, then I'm telling you, it wouldn't work."

Silver staggered backwards. Wait! that voice! it couldn't be him, right? that's impossible!

"Silver, game over." The man's final words echoed in his ears.

No! It can't be him!
