266 CHAPTER 266: FAIR FIGH

All he wanted is to free her. The freedom to chose what truly makes her happy. Cause thinking about it right now, she's like a bird in a cage wanting to fly high but looks like she was living in a cage of iron.

'' Where is he?'' Alex asked Max when she couldn't find and contact Ethan. She was a bit early at work today but she didn't see the man as soon as she enters his office.

'' I don't know. But I couldn't find his car outside either. I was about to report for work like you do.'' He helplessly yelped. ''But it's rare for boss Ethan to leave his office without a word... could he be...'' he widened his eyes thinking that something bad must have happen to him.

''Max!'' She cut him off. '' don't say any word!'' She herself got worried. ''Please go to the security and check what time did he leave the hotel. I'll try to call his phone once again.''

'' Ai Ai captain!'' He salute teasingly before leaving her at Ethan's office.

Alex, on the other hand, has been pacing back and forth. She was worried sick while trying to contact Ethan but to no avail.

''Damn you Ethan! Answer the call now!'' She scream within her.

After an hour, Max came to her and reported what the security manager saw.

As for the report, Ethan drove off to who knows where at exactly 4am.

''4am?!'' Alex exclaimed. ''Where will he go with that amount of time?!'' Then she glance at her wristwatch. Dang! It's already 11:30am. Where could he be? Now she's anxious.

And he's not even answering his phone! He'll be dead once Alex sees him, that's for sure.

After an hour or two, The door to Ethan's office suddenly opened. Alex stood up and spun around immediately, hoping it would be Ethan. Then her eyes widened in astonishment.

'' Ethan! Where have you been all this time?!'' She run to where he was. '' and why are you not answering your damn phone?! Don't you know how many---'' she was interrupted when Ethan suddenly pulled her close and kiss her instantly. A tear suddenly trickled from her eyes. After a minute or two, the man broke away and embrace her tight.

'' I'm sorry if I got you worried. It's just that, I have to settle some personal matters.'' He faintly whispered.

'' I hate you!'' She cried while hitting the man lightly. '' You should have texted me or at least return my calls!'' She was sobbing like an abandon child. '' I thought something bad happened to you!''

'' shhh... I'm sorry.'' He was caressing her hair.

''Please don't do that ever again. Do you know how worried I was? I can't even think straight!''

''Shhhh... I'm here now.'' He smiled as he listen to the woman's upset cries. It's okay if she gets mad as long as it is because she worries about him.

'' But where have you been? The security personnel said you went out at around four in the morning?'' She look at the man who seems so tired.

'' Ah,nothing.'' He fake a smile. '' I needed to see someone today so I went out early.''

'' A client?''

Ethan shook his head in disagreement. Then after a few seconds, he went in trance as he thought about what happen to him earlier.

FLASHBACK:

Ethan's detective friend sent him the information about Clement at twelve in the evening. Therefore, he decided to leave at 4am so he could reach the man's house at exactly 7am or so depending on the traffic jam.

Clement is definitely a doctor by proffession who was assigned at one of the village somewhere at the outskirt region-- Hucana. It was a three hours drive therefore Ethan decided to drive there early.

'' You!'' Clement snorted when he recognized Ethan who just entered his clinic. Good thing he doesn't have any customer that time. ''What are you doing here?''

'' And you know that we've been looking for her for weeks during that time. Why didn't you call the authorities? Why didn't you report her? Why did you chose to keep her?'' Ethan blurted all at once.

'' I don't know what your saying.'' He stood up and went to get a document on the drawer on the side then went back to his chair.

''You think I won't know that you tried to hide her personal records as well? Clement, I know you have connections but I have a wider scope.''

'' And why are you bringing this stuffs right now, huh?!'' He's a bit upset.

''Because I want you to back-off.'' Ethan pointed his main thought. ''Stop meddling with my daughter and with my fiance 's life.

'' Mr. Williams, if what you are saying is true then Alex should have recognize you at once.''

''She lost her memories, that's a fact, but how she feels about me had never changed and I can guarantee that.'' He leered. '' I believe she feels the same way I do towards her. She likes me...ah better yet say, she loves me. But she couldn't even say it aloud because someone is getting in between us.''

'' So that someone is ME I bet.''

'' you should know that better than anyone else.''

''Then why are you so confident that she loves you if she's hesitant to admit that? Don't you think your illusion is getting much in your reality?''

'' Clement, the brain might forget what had happened in the past but the heart won't... your a doctor and you should know that. You've been with her for three full years and you should know how she trully feels about you. But I bet it's not because she loves you. She thought she owes you big, that's why she couldn't say no to whatever you says.''

'' But she does owe me more than her life.'' He smirked. ''But I have never forced myself to her. It was her own choice to pay for what she owes me.''

''No! Your making her carry that burden!'' Ethan got upset. ''You should give her the freedom to chose her own path! To do what her heart really wants!'' He clenched his fist in annoyance.

'' And by saying that, you just want to tell me to let her go just so you could be with her, right?!''

''Because that's the right thing to do!'' Ethan yelled. ''She was never yours to begin with and you know that full well!''

''Stop living in the past Ethan and move on! The woman you are seeing right now isn't the woman you knew before. She's a totally different woman now!''

''No, your totally wrong...'' he soften. '' In fact, she never changed. She is still my Aisha and will always be.''

''But she's mine now and I'm not willing to give her up.'' Clement made his resolution.

''if your confident that she will choose you over me, then why don't we have a fair game instead?'' Ethan proposed.

''You mean...'' Clement raised his brow.

''Let's court her over again; without involving the past, not including the debts she owes you. If she still choose you without any condition, then I'll give her up.'' Ethan proposed. ''Are you confident?'' He challenged.

Clement was in deep thought. Will he agree to this man's proposition? Then after a few minutes, he look at Ethan.

''Did you say not to involve the past?'' He probed.

'' Yes. And I promise you, I will never tell her about her past until this agreement is finish.''

''Okay. Deal.'' Clement uttered filled with confidence. Looks like he has some tricks under his sleeves right now.

Ethan sneered as well. Though he can smell something fishy about this man but they must have a fair fight; Man to man. They have to settle everything once and for all.

Aisha... this is for you. Mira, my little princess, wait for daddy. Daddy will fight for you. He smiled.

After confirming their deal, Clement was waiting for the man to exit his office. However, he is still standing in front of him while in daze. Looks like he wants to ask something.

'' Aren't you going back to Estrella City?'' Clement voiced.

'' Clement...'' he looked at him hesitantly. '' I know this might be too much to ask, but can you tell me how you found her? Can you tell me how she lived her life for the past few years?'' He begged.

The man could see how he was dying to know about the woman's past life three years ago, therefore, he leaned his back on his chair and smirk.

''Tell me one good reason why I should tell you.'' He sarcastically raised his brow.
