She began with explaining the guild itself
"The Mercenary Guild is a corporation established by the cooperation of Human and Migas entrepreneurs and later on, Human and Migas leaders."
"Hence, all Mercenary Guilds are connected to the headquarters."
"Now onto Quests and Ranks"
"Quests are special missions or requests given either by the people or the guild or the higher-ups."
"You can find quests on the bulletin board," She said pointing to a large board to the side of the room that had notes on it.
"Get the notes on the board and bring it to me, I'll acknowledge that you have accepted the quest and you can afterward participate in it."
"Rewards are given upon completion of the quest."
"Now onto, Ranks."
"Ranks determine how dangerous a quest is."
"It is as follows"
"E-Rank"
"C-Rank"
"B-Rank"
"A-Rank and S-Rank"
"And of course there are classes higher than this, but that falls under special categories."
"Furthermore, Ranks can be split into two"
"First, Quest rank"
"Second, Mercenary Rank."
"Quest Ranks are ranks given to quests to signify how dangerous it is."
"While Mercenary Ranks are ranks given to personnel to signify how capable and powerful the personnel is."
"Ranks do not only determine how dangerous a quest is or how powerful personnel is. It's also used to set requirements to prevent unnecessary deaths"
"Through ranks, we can prevent a situation where an individual challenges a quest greater than his capability."
"The only way for a lower-ranked mercenary to challenge a higher-ranked quest is to either be in a party or under special recommendation or when given the permission by one of the employees of the guild."
"Do note that if a lower-ranked mercenary does somehow challenge a higher ranked quest and succeed, he or she will only be given 40% of the earnings as a punishment and it will not be counted as a successful quest in their records."
"Moving forward, The Guild has 3 floors above this, Each floor signifies an increase in rank."
"For example, this floor is for E-Rank and occasional C-Rank quests."
"The floor above us is for C-Rank and B-Rank quests."
"And the floor after that is for A-Rank quests."
"The last floor is where only special quests of S-Rank and above are given. It is also the floor that the director resides in."
"Now a side note"
"In the Guild, Rank is all that matters. It's only through ranks that you're able to take on high-ranked quests and it also helps in discounting items and weapons from the Mercenary Guild established Blacksmith and Alchemist stores."
"There are further benefits but to know it you'll have to experience it yourself."
"Now onto the last subject, How to increase ranks."
"If you haven't guessed already then I'll tell you. The only way to increase ranks is to take on quests."
"The more quests you take, the more you prove your capability. And at the end of the day, you'll be given the rank you deserve."
"But there have been certain cases where that requirement is skipped due to the person already proving his or her strength."
"This is also the reason why your 3 classmates are ranked higher than you, they have already proved their strength during the stampede and it has been recognized by the guild."
"That is all, Do you have any questions regarding the guild?"
Some students asked some questions thereafter and she entertained them. After doing so she said.
"If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me."
"Also, Since you're just enrolling I implore that you take a quest to not only celebrate today but to also prove to me that you understand the workings of the guild, Okay?" She asked with a smile
The young boys of the class nodded earnestly with red faces, stunned by her smile.
"Stop manipulating the kid's Lin," Their escort said sternly
Receptionist Lin smiled in response and did not reply
The escort grunted to the side and asked the students, "Do you want to take a quest?"
Some nodded in return so he gave them time to do so.
"Sigh, fine. You have 10 minutes to pick a quest. Be back by then."
"Ok," They jointly replied before they went onto the bulletin board with barely disguised excitement.
The students that did not participate went back to the car.
Vincent on the other hand approached the receptionist after the students left.
"Do you have a question?" She asked, 'How is this student so handsome?'
[AN: Cause I made him so :)]
"Yes, As a C-Rank. What's the maximum number of quests I can take?"
"Mmh, As a C-Rank you can participate in a B-Rank quest or an A-Rank Quest.
Anything above that you'll have to be in a party."
"I see," Vincent mumbled, "How many quests do I have to take before I'm allowed to take an A-Rank quest with no party."
"Well….., To do so, You'll need a minimum of 50 C-Rank quests completed or 20 B-Ranks completed." She replied.
"Mmh" Vincent hummed, "Okay, thank you."
"No problem." She smiled brightly.
'Sigh, I don't want to be in a party with anyone. Might as well do 20 B-Rank quests and get on with it.'
'At least it will give me something to do', Vincent thought
Afterward, he left there and went up the stairs to the next floor, completely ignoring the quests on the current floor.
Ama and Amelia soon follow after they had scoured the floor quests and found it too easy.
/////
The next floor wasn't too different from that below it. The same style of furniture, Just a different layout, and setting.
The second floor could be likened to that of a bar.
Vincent ignored those that were there seated and scoured the board until he found something of interest.
[B-Rank Quest: Exterminate The Couple B-Rank Dark Beasts roaming in Sandapol forest and deliver their shells.] The quest read.
'This should suffice.'
Vincent took out the quest and went to the receptionist to get it registered. Then he went back to the carriage and after a few minutes, it began its journey back to Aemplefort.
///// Elsewhere /////
A gathering of ill-willed individuals occurred within the darkness
The meeting was among 11 people, 10 of them were currently kneeling before a cloaked man on a throne.
"It's been around 6 months" The man started aloofly.
"Since I have ordered you to find the new S-Rank student'
"Yet, For the 6 months that passed after that, I don't even know who he is."
"Why?"
"My Lord" A man amongst those kneeling shakily began, "it's not we are not capable, it's just that Aemplefort keeps a tight lock on all of their students, My Lord"
"And?" The man asked, "How does that concern me? My concern is for you to get me the student not to give me excuses, do you hear me?"
"Bu-"
"DO YOU HEAR ME", He shouted in anger, His shout quaked the area around him and sent those kneeling further to the ground.
The man forcibly calmed himself down, relieving the pressure upon them.
"That school does an event every semester where the citizens can pay to watch the student go about their practical exam."
"That is your chance to sneak in and find out who the student is. This is your only chance. Use it well."

Looks like the underworld forces of Aemplefort have had enough and are now moving.
How would Vincent deal with these powers?
