Three days passed quickly with Rory sitting in the medical room typing away on a laptop she had her mother bring in. No one had any idea what she was doing, yet seeing how focused her eyes were they decided not to bother her.

A sly smile appeared on her lips as she closed the laptop coming back to the reality around her.

She placed the laptop on the nightstand before checking on her injuries. The scars the original Rory caused still hadn't faded on her arms. Two long red marks stood out against her white skin, which was a ghastly sight.

Rory's eyebrows clenched together while looking at the marks. Even though Medicine wasn't her forte she could tell it would be a few months until they faded.

Getting out of the medical room's bed, Rory collected the clothes her mom brought that morning.

She stood in front of the mirror wearing a blue suit with a black handkerchief in the pocket. Staring into the mirror, Rory still felt a bit creeped out seeing a different face staring back at her.

The body she inhabited had two large grey eyes and brown hair. Overall the person was very beautiful and not even boy clothes could ruin their looks. Rory shook her head when she thought about the pictures she found on the phone. however, enough make up and anyone would look scary.

The previous owner was gothic and wore darkeyeliner constantly. It was often smudged all over her eyes making her look like a killer panda. Sadly, not as adorable as it sounds.

Brushing back her hair in the mirror, Rory started to practice expressions trying to get used to her new face. After going through a couple of expressions she felt more comfortable and ready to face the world.

Rory walked out of the medical room putting on her house shoes next to the door as she went. to come face to face with wooden walls and a soft red carpet. No other doors were found of the room for privacy, which was a godsend for Rory as she had no idea where to go.

She wondered down the hallway observing all the paintings and other designs on the wall as she walked. Even though in a way it was beautiful, the thousand pictures of old people gave Rory the chills. Old money is really too serious about their heritage.

Rory was terrified of ghosts from a young age. Now, after her reincarnation, she was even more certain that they existed feeding her already large amount of fear.

Trying her best to ignore the weird eyes that seemed to see through her, Rory finally reached a staircase and traveled downstairs. Frankly she absolutely couldn't sleep in this house after discovering what laid outside of the medical room door.

From what she gathered about the original Rory, she lived on a school campus, therefore it shouldn't be much of a problem.

"Oh you are here! Good morning sweet heart." Rory was meet with a warm greeting from her mom as soon as she got down stairs. Even though her mom looked cherry and happy, she could see a small bit of fear in Mrs. Hynes eyes.

Concern filled Rory's heart. She wanted to tell her mom that she had nothing to worry about, however Rory wouldn't make a promise that she might not be able to keep. "Mmm. Let's go."

After researching the Hynes family more seriously she had a good idea about what was happening.

Eighteen years ago, Robert Hynes, the original Rory's father, died in a car crash. This was a horrible accident, but in the minds of the Hynes the most horrible thing about this accident is that he left all of his inheritance to his wife and his unborn child. A war broke out between the family as many members wanted her mom to hand over what ever inheritance was given to her and Rory. In their minds the inheritance would be better off in their hands.

Just like in her previous life, her and her mom were going to be killed once again for their inheritance. However, unlike her, Mrs. Hynes was able to see that situation clearly and knew what she needed to do.

She no longer had any backing and knew that with a female child her father-in-law would never back her. All he wanted was heir and in their family they preferred male over female. That is how Rory ended up dressed as a boy never able to tell anyone the truth.

They had knives over their head and one mistake could mean their deaths. The old Rory has made that one mistake.

Even though she just meet Mrs. Hynes she already considered her family. For her family... she would do whatever she could to get them out of this.

...

The ancestral home wasn't far from their own and they reached it within minutes.

Looking up the gloomy building, Rory felt a chill run up her spin. It was well maintained with a nice trimmed garden in the front, however the Victorian design was right out of the 1800's. The dark rain clouds in the background behind it made the scene seem even more intimidating.

Sighing to herself, Rory got out of the car and straightened out her suit.

Her mom followed out of the limousine behind her. "No matter what happens here I will always stand beside you. Even if we lose everything I will never lose you." She gave Rory a shaky reassuring smile, however her eyes told a different story.

Rory simply smiled brightly back at her before heading into the house. With ten years of business experience behind her belt she should be able to handle this.
