Why would a family like the Hynes do something so ridiculous? Victoria scanned the phone's information up and down, but couldn't find a reason for the question. Whatever the answer was, it was deeply hidden.

"Is she awake yet?" Overhearing a woman's hushed whisper, Victoria's attention turned toward the door.

"It should be about time for her to wake up, her condition was stabilized last night. Would you like to come in and check Mrs. Hynes?" A professional voice answered back with respect.

"No!" The woman quickly lowered her voice again. "No that's fine... After all, it's my fault she has been reduced to this state." The statement was filled with hopelessness and regret. Two emotions that resonated with Victoria.

She didn't know the harms the woman committed, but surely she couldn't be a horrible person if she regretted it so much.

"You can come in."

A strong, stable voice came out of the room stunning both of the people out of their conversation. Rory's voice was no longer as shaky as they remembered and almost made them think there was a different person inside of the medical room. The place went quiet once again.

Finally, a sound came from the door followed by the light taps of walking. In came a woman covered in expensive name brand clothes. What she was wearing made her appear powerful contrasting with the currently worried look at her face.

She shot a unsure glance toward Victoria, however sat in the chair next to the bed. Following closely behind her entered the doctor with a friendly smile.

"How are you doing today Rory?" His relaxed demeanor and open conversation made it clear that he was familiar with her.

"Fine." Victoria glanced at the closing door to see a wooden hallway. It seemed that she wasn't at a hospital at all, but rather a home medical place.Considering her family's position and her own 'condition' it wasn't too weird that they would have something like this set up.

The doctor was quick at work checking up on her before taking off his gloves "Good vitals, no sign of blood loss... It seems you've dodged a bullet Rory."

"Oh thank gosh! My baby!" The woman, who at this point Victoria assumed was Rory's mother, startled Victoria by grabbing her Hand tightly.

Seeing that Victoria was staring at their connected hands weirdly she realized her mistake and tried to retract her hand, but Victoria tightened her own hand around the woman's.

Victoria couldn't explain it, yet she automatically felt close to this woman. For some reason the woman reminded her a lot of her own mother.

"Can me and my mother have a moment alone?" Victoria examined the doctor's expression after she said that, it changed a small amount showing a bit of surprise. Not enough to say anything about what surprised him though.

Most likely her guess about the woman being Rory's mom was correct.

"Of course, of course."He waves them away before leaving the room and closing the door behind himself.

Victoria looked toward the woman after he left to see the woman was staring back at her with eyes brimming with tears.

"What's wrong?" She didn't think that she had done anything too off putting so far...

"Nothing... it's just this is the first time in years you've referred to me as mom."

'So I did mess up.' Victoria's lips pursed together. She really didn't know what was correct to say and could only grasp at conclusions to match the puzzle pieces of Rory Hynes life.

Once she got out of her she would definitely investigate this girl to the fullest. Just a few taps at a computer and Victoria could normally be able to reveal someone's entire life story. The internet was a lovely thing.

However, for now she would just have to fling it.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I acted that why, but after nearly dying... I promise I am a new person now."

Her voice was straight from the heart as everything she said was true, literally and figuratively.

Right when 'he' killed her and destroyed her, she lost who she was before. It was only fitting that she lost her body as well.

Her eyes became profound. Fate had given her a second chance, it was only right that she went along with it and accepted her situation. She was Rory Hynes now not Victoria Hill no matter how much she wished to go back.

Her mother broke down completely in tears. "I'm sorry as well! I wish you could be who you really are, but it has to be this way!"

Rory left eyebrow lifted slightly at her mom's confession, but didn't ask her to elaborate more. Her instincts told her Mrs. Hynes was a good person, therefore she was willing to act the part until she understood more.

"It's fine. I forgive you for everything." Rory hugged her mother until her mom stopped crying.

Mrs. Hynes talked to her for a long time about things that really didn't hold any meeting. But, the conversation cheered her up a lot so Rory didn't mind continuing it at all. In fact, the conversation reminded her of her mother filling her heart with a sweet feeling. She will never forget her mother, but she would cherish her second one.

After an unknown amount of time, Mrs. Hynes let out a yawn and her eyes started to droop.

This brought Rory's attention to the dark circles around her mom's eyes. "Go to sleep mom, I need to as well in order to recover."

Her mom nodded in agreement. Mrs.Hynes brushed away Rory's bangs and gave her a light kiss on the forehead. The chair screeched as she stood up.

"Go to sleep sweetie I will see you tomorrow." A wrinkled appeared on her forehead as if a troubling thought just crossed her mind. "Your grandfather somehow knows that you tried to commit suicide. He requested a family meeting at the ancestral house on Monday."

"Mmm. I understand I feel better already, by Monday I should be fine."

Her mom nodded again before waking out.
