Chapter 18 - Your Mom’s A Whore

The blonde girl paused for a moment. Her mouth was open for a retort, but nothing was coming out.

Who was she? If she responded wasn't it just as embarrassing to explain herself at this point as it was to not respond?

Her eyes transferred to Lily as she pleaded internally for the girl to step in.

"Rory you know Amelia Allen, we've been friends since elementary." Lily explained patiently.

She didn't know where she was going at this point, however decided it was best to stay as kind as possible to the ones watching and act like she was being bullied.

For some reason after Lily finished, the laughter in Rory eyes grew by a large margin.

Her eyes looked Amelia up and down then stayed on her wrist a moment before averting her gaze.

"Oh from how interested she seemed in the Hynes's personal business I almost thought her last name was Hynes... my bad."

Rory's statement stabbed Amelia in the core, as she always felt inferior to Lily because of her family's position. They were from the extreme lower field of millionaires, but not quiet good enough to be multi.

Yet, with Rory's statement she felt it exposed that no matter how much she attached herself to Lily; her family name would never change.

A flicker of hate grew in her heart for the Hynes family.

Rory took in her reaction with ease. The distance between them and the sadistic business woman was clear to see. Without punches they were already bruised.

"Bitch!-" an out burst came from Amelia, however before she could finish her statement a phone started to ring.

Rory's delicate eye brows lifted in surprise when she identified it as her own. 'I wonder who that could be?'

Rory from the start only had a few contacts on her list, therefore her getting a phone call was rather unlikely.

Flipping over her phone, Rory glanced at the name of the contact. [The woman who had me.]

Her eye twitched. Teenagers were really over dramatic. However, after identifying who it was her ice-like eyes took on a warm glow.

Unhurriedly, she extended out her long legs and stood up from her chair.

She held her finger up in front of the raging bull called Amelia, "Could you excuse me for a moment?"

Rory tried to step around as she didn't want to answer the phone call from her mother in front of so many people, but Amelia cut off her way. Finally the people who were being bullied by Rory found a way to fight back.

When Rory noticed that she wasn't going to able to leave she swiftly turned around and picked up her bag as if she never tried to get past Amelia.

Her overbearing attitude had already been set up, if she allowed them to feel powerful at the moment wouldn't all her hard work be put to waste?

She had intended to bluff her way out of the situation, but unfortunately the phone call seemed to kill the momentum. Her best choice was to ignore the phone call, but how could Rory ever do that? Her mom was one of the most important things to her at the moment.

Thus, Rory leaned against the patio wall and looked over the edge of the patio to the garden near it.

With a click of the phone and the sound of a voice, Rory's untouchable aura speedily changed to sunshine and rainbows.

"Mother?" While the statement was simple, the inconceivable warmth from it made everyone in the crowd baffled. Such an overbearing person was actually a mama's boy?

"Hey darling! How's your first day of class going? Are you having fun?"

"Mmm lots of fun, I even ran into some clowns."

The clowns: "..."

"That's good sweetie If any one bullies you again just tell me. I'll definitely beat them bloody this time! Who do they think they are to mess with my daughter!"

Rory's hands turned ice cold at the word daughter. Without her knowing, her eyes had slightly teared up. How was it possible that she was lucky enough to have a mother who loved her in both life times?

Her free hand covered her mouth as she tried to stop herself from crying. But the fact that the word daughter was a punch in her heart was undeniable.

After a tough internal battle a tear drop finally fell down her enchanting face. Suddenly more people in the crowd's faces changed from disgust. That one single tear seemed so pained and beautiful at the same time that it stabbed them in the heart!

"Rory? Rory are you there?," came a worried voice from the phone into Rory's ear.

Rory stifled her gasps. "I'm here mom." Her lips pulled back into a gentle smile, "Trust me I will definitely tell you this time."

The gentle smile from Rory won over more hearts!

Lily noticed that change in the atmosphere moving away from tense to cuddly. Why did it seem like a crying Rory was more dangerous than a normal Rory? Lily felt her mind blow.

Why was she even referring to an easy to step on bug like Rory as dangerous at all?

When Amelia looked down at her, she motioned her eyes at Rory. The message was clear; interrupt him.

"Bitch do you think I care if your whore of a mom is on the phone? Don't think she can save you from your own mouth."

If they wanted attention, they got it. Rory's eyes drifted from the garden to them holding black ice as sharp as knifes in their depths. The humor from earlier was completely gone.

"Mom could you hold on for a moment."
