Chapter 21 - Cloud Isn’t Vegetarian

The girl choked up and looked through tears to see Rory leaving the classroom. Was he really that angry at her?

Her eyes filled up with disbelief. Rory could never be so mean to actually leave her on the ground? He would definitely come back.

With this thought in mind, the girl sat for a while waiting for Rory to come back begging for forgiveness.

The new students entering the classroom gave her concerned looks, but no one said anything about it. After all, with just a glance they could identify who she was.

Tiffany Loqez, or in other words, the absolute weirdo of the academy. She was known for looking like a psycho and mumbling curses causing nearly everyone avoid her.

Except of course for the even bigger weirdo, Rory.

After Rory finally finished her classes for the day she went home right away.

Even though, she had multiple things that she needed, including food, she knew that she had to make money first.

For that... Rory pulled out her ŀȧptop once she re-entered her dorm room and a determined glint appeared in her stormy eyes... she already had a plan.

With a swipe of her hand she had logged back into the dark web and went into the section that contained certain jobs.

The variety of jobs written in green computer text ranged from murder to organ stealing.

At the moment, Rory desperately needed some kind of income to push forth her future plans.

Gains never came without risks in the end.

Once she had reached the technological part of the dark web, she started to navigate through the job titles.

The ones that were protected by strong coding that she had to put effort into piercing, she dismissed.

While she wasn't the straight collar type of person, she still didn't like getting her hands in extremely dirty things unless it was personal.

She wouldn't take the chance if she didn't have have a calculation of all the possible risks.

Due to this mind set, it took Rory a long time before finding two jobs that she felt comfortable doing.

One was a simple file decoding, which would only take her an hour. It's gain was rather small at only 7,000, but the amount of risk it was presenting wasn't bad.

The other was an information gathering job targeting the design department of a major company.

Rory already guessed that they were an untalented, entitled rich kid, before even forcing her way into their private file.

She calmly leaned her head against her hand as she read the name of the company that the person requested her to hack into.

It was Cloud.

No wonder this sort of job wasn't picked up quickly on the dark web. The Cloud's security system was a monster to tackle.

A wicked smile grew on her face.

'Sounds like fun.'

She wasn't a petty person in any kind of way, but she couldn't deny that she had a bone to pick with Cloud, therefore it was a bonus on top of the 20,000 she would get from the job.

The Cloud's defense wall was something personally created set up by Knox. She previously never had any reason to hack it before, yet anything made by that monstrous idiot was nothing to be underestimated.

Rory responded to both of the jobs.

However, Rory started right away.

She decided that she might as well start with the hardest task so she can be at full capacity. Not having an optimal computer that she personally built, made her task rather risky, but she was sure if worse came to worse she could make a safe retreat.

With fingers moving at record speeds she went ahead and accessed Cloud's first line of defense. The lines of code appeared across her dark screen in small little organized letters.

The traps and blocks were beautifully set up causing the codes to appear like a picture in Rory's mind.

She could feel herself standing in front of a stone barricade with an extremely stable foundation. However, no matter how strong it was, it was ripped apart in the end.

Rory was still relaxed as she effortlessly destroyed Cloud's first line of defense.

Her fingers moved with such elegance that it gave the illusion that she was playing a piano instead of hacking into a secure network.

Whenever she encountered a block she ruthlessly crushed it leaving the pieces of code broken beyond repair.

It was the best way to in sure that they couldn't quickly block out her invasion if they pushed her out.

She silently applauded in her heart. Cloud trained their employees well if they could react in an organized manner so quickly.

'Fine if they wanted to play....'

A sadistic grin appeared on her lips.

Her second hand stopped supporting her head and touched down on the key board.

She would make sure to properly enjoy herself in this game.

Cloud cooperation. New York City, NY....

A man in a black suit leaned over a desk with unfocused eyes. A cold sweat traveled down his forehead as he started at the eighteen ft screen in front of him.

Multiple smaller screens were shown in the screen and whenever one of the small screens turned red he felt shivers crawl up his spine.

"Security head, the hacker broke down the second wall of defense."

An employee said as he took his hands off the key board. Underneath the table his hands clenched tightly and a defeated look appeared on his face.

Seeing the look of hopelessness on his face caused anger to grow in the security head's heart.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE BROKE DOWN THE SECOND WALL OF DEFENSE! DOES HE THINK CLOUD COORP IS FILLED WITH VEGETARIANS! PUSH HIM BACK."

A vein nearly burst on his forehead. If they couldn't handle it he would have to give that person a call... they had to handle the situation!
