Chapter 22 - Only One Person

At the sound of the security head's voice the third team of security went into action. Each of teams were specialized at their certain code walls and as the codes became more complicated so did their expertise.

For a small moment in the large dark room, peace was restored. The screens of the third team didn't go dark representing that their codes had not been hacked into.

The security head leaned against the railing in front of him and let out a sigh of relief.

He ȧssumed the worst after seeing how fast the hacker destroyed their code walls, however it seemed he was overthinking.

The security head pushed up his glasses and relaxed as if nothing ever happened. "Fix the code walls and push that low life out of our systems. Team one and two's pay will be deducted-"

"Boss we... we can't push him out." Before the security head could finish his statement one of the members of team three stood up and bowed. His forehead had small drops of sweat on it and his facial expression was filled with distress.

"What do you mean you can't push him out?!"

"The hacker is playing with us! Every time he gets close to destroying the code walls he backs out of it and attacks another one. It isn't clear when he will fully break the wall, but when he does we can't stop him."

Seeing the shock in their boss's face caused the defeated teams to avert their eyes in shame.

It seemed like they were being attacked by a single entity, but that just couldn't be possible! If it was possible they would never admit it!

"Boss I don't think we should risk letting this hacker organization reach the fourth wall. It looks like they have studied our security system for a while now in order to destroy it with such ease. Excuse me for saying this, but I don't even think the fifth team will be able to push them out!"

The fifth team shot the person a glare, however they stayed silent. Even if their pride was stepped on, it was better than being literally stepped on! They really didn't know if they could beat such a demonic hacker.

"Useless! Everyone's pay will be deducted for the month!" The fiery rage in the boss's voice made everyone look down to avoid making eye contact.

"Damn it." Roughly, the security guard reached into his back pocket and took out his phone. His hands shook nervously as he scrolled down his contacts.

He couldn't risk the hacker actually breaking apart their network security or the consequence will be much worse than disturbing the CEO.

He had to make the call.

Resilience flashed in the security head's eyes as he moved his finger toward the unnamed number. Yet, before he pressed it he stopped. Damn it he didn't have large enough guts to confront that person with this kind of failure!

With this in mind the security guard switched his attention to a different number and clicked on it.

The room filled up with tension as the phone ringed softly.

A clicked sounded.

"Hello this is Andrew Silver."

The tone of the voice was very friendly and open, however the security head's heart skipped a beat inside of his ċhėst.

Andrew Silver was the co CEO of the company who handled most of the company's media and internal interactions. Due to this he was normally easier to talk to, however anyone who knew the dark side of the company, knew he wasn't far behind the CEO when it came to cruelty.

"Hello Boss this is the head of security calling... We encountered a network security problem that is a bit above our skill set. Therefore, in order to avoid having this person fully infiltrate our system I thought it was best to report the issue."

"Someone is breaking into our network? Hmm that's nothing a simple person can do. It's good that you called me. Send over the details and I'll give them to the CEO."

"Yes sir!"

The call ended.

The security guard felt like he had dodged a bullet. Even if he gets in trouble later at least he didn't have to face that person directly!

A handsome man in casual wear laid back on his bed languidly as he read a book. His sword-like eyebrows and strong jaw line made his entire face look like a painting.

However if it was a painting it could only be a painting of a Demon with the amount of darkness that lied within his pale blue eyes.

Suddenly, in the room, his phone started to buzz. Knox placed down his book on his night stand and picked up his phone.

"Knox! Bro! You have have to look at the file I sent you that came from our network security team. It seems like those people might be trying to hack into information from the company! The security team wasn't dealing with it good enough, therefore they sent it to me before the hacker got around to breaking the last wall."

Andrew Silver was probably the only person who could ever address Knox in such a casual way. They had been friends since childhood, therefore regardless of how different their personalities were they stayed close friends.

Knox responded while getting his ŀȧptop off of his computer stand, "it's not the people you are referring to."

"What do you mean? Who else would put so much effort to study our net work security and hire an entire team of extreme experts to break it down. It would take too much money unless they had a personal vendetta against the company."

"That's true, however we already have proof that someone higher up in our company is a spy for them. They wouldn't need to exert so much effort when they already have access to nearly everything. Anything else can't be found on company servers."

Knox pulled up the file and started looking through it.

His eyebrows scrunched up at the scene. The person hacking into the system was extremely skilled and they had gotten too far into the company's information. This kind of mess up was unforgivable.

"Than what organization is doing this? Do you think it's another mafia targeting us because of the internal strife that is happening at the moment?"

"It's not an organization it's a person. Their hacking style is the exact same, therefore unless they are replicas they are the same person. Also, regardless of the internal strife, this person is clearly playing with our system. No one who knows our mafia, Solntsevskaya Bratva's, power would dare be so bold. This person is only insulting the company."
