Chapter 39 - She Jumped Over The Counter?!

Other than the glacial aura, the boy's face didn't change. The smile from earlier still lightly graced his face, contrasting with his freezing eyes.

The voice was unchanged as he responded, "While I do not appreciate causing conflict, neglect in the workplace puts an even more bitter taste in my mouth."

Rory's eyes pierced the women like knives as she ȧssessed her.

In such a situation no one knew what to do. While they were being disrespectful, this person had no background here. In fact, it could be said that he had even less pull than them!

The thought process was strong, but the chilliness in the young man's eyes made them waver.

How can a weakling have eyes like that? It made them have the urge to bow down personally and apologize.

Suddenly, the scene lost the interest of many of the workers as they seemed to instantly gain a massive amount of work out of thin air.

The woman scooted away from the chilly aura and slightly hid behind the desk.

She looked at Rory warily, "Are you threatening me? Do you think that just because you were born rich, I can't sue you! Sir I strongly suggest you leave before I call the cops."

When the woman noticed that Rory didn't seem worried at all, she got up from the chair. "I have witnesses! You all saw right? He's threatening me!"

After causing a scene, the woman looked around for support, however none of her co workers met her eyes.

Were they idiots! This was a perfect chance to get rich, after all every knew this kid already had a dark past. As long as they went to court, his family would probably pay them off to get it settled silently.

Rory looked at the woman for a while. She could already see where this was going, and she didn't have time.

Therefore, without blinking an eye she loosened to collar of her white collared school shirt and pulled up her sleeves.

The worker's eyes grew big at her movements. Was this kid really about to beat up the receptionist in front of them!

While they weren't willing to risk a slander charge, if he actually beat her up, they had plenty of witnesses.

In fact, once a hand was heavily laid on the woman, they would also have evidence!

Was this young master insane??

Tiffany came to the same conclusion and wanted to reach out and stop Rory.

However, before her hand touched Rory, Rory, turned around and looked at her. The coldness in his eyes made her hands freeze in midair.

The message in those eyes were clear! I will deal with you later! Tiffany felt a shiver go up her spin, what will this demon do to her afterwards.

Her eyes went wide as she watched the cherry red lips pick up, "After causing this mess don't think about running. You'll regret it."

After this statement, the boy jumped up on the counter and slung his legs over.

Everyone watched with wide eyes, and the woman felt fear swimming in her heart. Was this kid really about to beat her up?!

She wasn't willing! Slander was one thing! But, to go through it actually! She really didn't want to!

The woman watched as the boy approached her before a glimmer went through her eyes. That's right, she didn't have to get hit in order to bring this to court.

Her eyes glanced at her closest coworker, before she sent out a wink. The cameras were both focused on the lobby, therefore she didn't have to worry about the truth being exposed.

Also, with the large amount of cash walking into their ŀȧps, she had confidence that she will have enough witnesses.

When Rory was within a foot and a half from her, the woman put her plan in action.

Without hesitation she dropped to the ground with a loud thud. Her body hit the marble ground at full force, and she let out a horrid scream at impact.

"Please! Please stop hitting me!"

The woman let out pleas as she curled up into a fetal position on the ground. Honestly, the performance was so well carried out, that even some of the workers who could see what happened, had some misgivings.

"You shameless woman! Rory didn't land a hand on you! You dare slander him!" The starting troublemaker glared at the shameless woman.

No matter who was in Rory's body, she wouldn't let him take the fall for this!

Her eyes glanced at Rory expecting to see some appreciation. However, once again Rory didn't seem to be noticing anything around him.

Didn't he know he was about to be slandered and put in jail! Was the demon stupid!

Wh- what was he doing?

Rory looked through a list and typed some things before grabbing a scanner and heading to the back. Under the eyes of everyone, she brought some packages to the front, scanned them and sat them on the counter.

This young master was doing retail! What the hell were they witnessing, how did he know their system so well? He didn't even seem angry or confused, in fact he worked so well that it gave the illusion that he worked there himself!

Rory went through the packages diligently as everyone held their breath. Suddenly while looking at a package, the boy froze. His eyes turned downcast and flashed with a bit a worry, before putting it down. The temperature, if possible, turned even colder.

Was it because he finally understood his situation?

The woman grinned inside. As she thought, he didn't have enough money to deal with them.

That's why he was worried.

She waited patiently for the boy to beg her for forgiveness. Unfortunately for her, from start to end, Rory didn't put her in his eyes.

After collecting all of her packages, she scanned her student card and jumped back on the counter.

In front of Tiffany, she picked up a large box and shoved it into the girl's arms. Tiffany reflexively grabbed the box.

Did demons work in retail? At this moment this girl had gone through so much today, that it turned her practically stupid. Not even she knew what was going on!

Even if the work was easy, he did it like he had been working in retail his whole life!

"De- Rory how did you know how to do that? You worked in retail?"

Rory felt her lips twitch at the girl's look of shock. It was just doing inventory with the simplest level of technology...

She was certain even an ordinary citizen could do the same, it shouldn't raise any questions.

"For your punishment help me carry these." Rory said ignoring Tiffany's question while relentlessly placing boxes on top of the large box.

Once she was done, she picked up the envelope that startled her earlier and started to leave the same way she came in. Without a single ounce of panic.

Before she left, she looked back at the woman who was still sitting on the ground. "Look outside the window, to your right, at the top of the light pole."

The people in the post office squinted their eyes and felt compelled to follow her directions. They stared blankly for a moment.

Seeing the crowd of confused people, Rory gave more detailed instructions, "Approximately 100 meters."

Finally the crowd took notice to a shiny black camera on the light pole.

They all felt choked up. The distance was rather far away, in fact if it wasn't for Rory pointing out, they probably would of never taken notice to it!

When did Rory even see it. The entire time it looked like he did everything on a whim!

With the windows open it had a clear view of the back room of the post office. And also, probably caught a good angle on the entire incident.

Rory smile was light as she glanced at the woman, who at this point looked like she was about to die, "I look forward to seeing you in court."

The woman quickly struggled to get up. "Wai-"

However, before she could say anything the door of the post office closed behind the terrifying rich kid causing the aura of the office to finally warm up after being released from the kid's suffocating aura.

The woman still felt suffocated though, what kind of demon did she provoke.
