Chapter 38 - Is Morality Edible?

The person continued peeking through the bushes.

They tried to move the thin branches of the to get a clearer view of the sitting area.

He was really gone! Was it teleportation?!

Their hands were unstable as they grabbed their notebook and scribbled something down.

Due to their instability they failed to notice the boy standing behind them.

Rory watched the person while leaning to the side slightly. Her hand was on the side of her stomach as she took in slight breaths.

She used to sneak up on her employees who were slacking on their work all the time! Did this mean that she was really less worked out than she was in her past life? Was it even possible!

Sneaking up on someone didn't even require much pysical ability. It was about attention diversion and timing. She couldn't understand how she was breathing hard.

Rory exhaled another breath quietly.

So it was this girl again? Had she not shown enough intent that she didn't want to be involved with her?

She then glanced at the notebook with curious eyes. Was she actually that interesting to sit on the ground for two hours in order to observe her movements.

For the first half of her time here she was honestly only twisting a USB around.

Unfortunately, the handwriting was horrid to the point that Rory wasn't even sure if it was english. She could only make out the pictures.

Fine, she was bored and the person was committed, she might as well feed her curiosity.

Rory leaned over the person slightly with her hands in her pockets, "Hmm the pictures are good, however my left side is much better than my right side."

Tiffany jumped causing the ink from her pen to messily decorate her paper. She fell to the ground, leaning back against the bush. "R-Rory!"

Rory's lips twitched at the girl's over reaction. Was she that scary? "Hello Tiffany." Rory responded calmly, directly contrasting Tiffany's current panic.

She dropped down into a crouch and picked up the fallen black notebook covered in dirt. It had designs on it, that Rory could only recognize from horror movies.

What kind of friend did Rory have exactly?

Yep as she thought, she wasn't going to be able to read this. Rory's eyes burned as she tried to understand the horrid handwriting.

"Give it back!" Tiffany stretched forward to grab the notebook, but her movement direction was too obvious. Just watching her muscle pattern, Rory evaded the small girl's movements easily.

She got up with a slight twirl to dodge the girl's hands. Turning back around she waved the book carelessly in the air. "Why should I?"

Rory flipped through the book with curious eyes, taking in the weird hand writing. Even without being able to understand the handwriting, the various images of her made the meaning of the book rather clear.

A bit of stress grew in Rory's heart. She wasn't a self centered person, however this book was alarming... was it possible...

Rory shook her head. Good looks we're really a curse. However, in the end it's even more reason to get rid of this girl.

A beeping noise sounded from Rory's phone taking her attention away from the situation at hand. When she pulled out her phone and saw the notification that her materials arrived, her eyes lit up.

Her baby was here!

Tiffany who once again looked like she was about to cry a river, blinked in surprise as the boy in front of her suddenly tossed her book on the ground and turned around. The pictures inside the book scattered on the ground as if they weren't important at all.

Tiffany mind paused while looking at the images. Wasn't this demon worried about her exposing its identity?

Could someone really lose interest so quickly? If he cared so little why did he even bother with her in the first place!

Tiffany felt stifled as she collected the book. She climbed clumsily got up and followed the boy. Since he already knew he was being followed it shouldn't matter anyway.

"You aren't interested in the book anymore?" The girl asked hesitantly while walking slightly behind Rory.

Rory glanced at her with unmoved eyes, "No."

"Then why did you take it in the first place?"

"Bored."

She truly didn't know! Fine it was a demon anyway let it be.

She felt that she was the one in the right, therefore she kept quiet. Surely Rory would say something to her, after a while.

Tiffany walked silently beside Rory while glancing at their side profile. The person appeared to be completely unconcerned about everything around them...

Were all demons like this? Was it really a demon?

Seeing the small little building on the east side of the Sovereignty campus, filled Rory with anticipation and her foot steps noticeably quickened.

"Rory."

When Tiffany realized that Rory didn't mind keeping the awkward silence, she finally spoke up.

However, the person seemed too busy on their phone to even pay attention. Tiffany felt her face turn red.

The door opened up and Rory was entering inside.

"Rory Hynes!"

Rory who was actually very good at cutting out distracting people, didn't even blink as she continued on her way.

Everyone looked at the girl whose black hair covered her entire face, the dark eyes that peered from beneath the cover of hair made her look like the living dead.

The people quickly recovered their gaze. Oof they were just workers no need to get involved in that mess. The only thought they had in their minds was that these rich kids were extremely weird.

In front of Tiffany, Rory had already made her way to the grand reception desk.

The receptionist had a clear red stain on her checks as her eyes glimmered at the young boy in front of her.

So handsome!

"Are you here to receive a package?" The receptionist said giving her best smile. Even if she couldn't hook this young master, leaving a good impression on any of the students here wasn't a bad idea.

At the mention of getting her tech, Rory's cherry red lips released a easy going smile. She was planning to sweet talk her way into favor, but it seems like the original body's looks saved her some time.

After all, even if she was willing to carry the boxes back, it didn't mean it was easy.

She opened her mouth to respond, however before any words could leave her mouth, the girl she had been ignoring jumped in front of her at this moment.

Rory blinked at the child in front of her as if just realizing that she was still there.

The girl's breathing was already heavy and her face was as bright as possible. Yet, somehow she managed to surpass the limit.

This demon actually looked at a girl! No she would not allow it to disrespect Rory's strong will!

Tiffany pointed directly at Rory's face, who was watching everything as if it had nothing to do with her, and declared, "Don't get any ideas about Rory, he only likes men!"

The office went quiet as eyes collectively landed with ridicule in their depths at the object of the pointed finger.

Now they realized why the name the girl shouted earlier was so familiar. It was the infamously gay, poor, waste of the school.

The kind woman's eyes flashed with a bit of disappointment and disgust. Suddenly her caring demeanor completely changed causing Rory's face to darken.

Looking at the situation, it was unrecoverable. Therefore, Rory adapted and went with the flow.

Acting like nothing changed, she side stepped Tiffany, "Yes, I am here to pick up a package."

The receptionist gave her a dead expression, "Sir please calm down, I'm busy at the moment but I will get to you shortly."

Suddenly, Rory's good mood completely disappeared. The temperature of the office seemed to drop to the extreme and even Tiffany felt a chill in her bones.

Rory's eyes were dark. The quicker she made her computer, the quicker she could get to making money. To mess with her getting her computer, was to mess with her money.

It was unacceptable.

At this moment, what was morality? Could she eat it?!
