12 Bounty

Maximus rushed at his fastest speed to Ben's house. After getting there he went to the kitchen, there behind the wall was a small chest. Ben told him some time ago that if someday he needed money for some emergency he could find it there. Thinking about it now it was like Ben could feel that something would happen to him.

Maximus took the whole chest into his inter spatial ring, then looked around for some blankets to better cover Felix, who had already fallen asleep. Then taking a last look at the simple wooden house Maximus soared into the air and disappeared into the night.

"F*ck, that bitch killed herself, and her kid was taken away by that other guy. We need to find them or else all of our effort will be wasted" mumbled Cross. He riding in a luxurious golden carriage. In front of him was young woman, of about 18 or 19 years old. She had green hair and green eyes, thin pale lips,a small nose, aslim body and long sexy legs.

"Don't worry we will find them, our Benford clan may not be as powerful as the Phoenix clan, but we are still very influential and our spies are everywhere. Now we need to find that baby, and after our plan succeed's we will even overcome the Phoenix clan and become the new overlord of this province" said the young women in a sweet voice, as if everything was a matter of time, and they wouldsucceed 100%

Maximus landed close to a city, It was much bigger than Dipper town, it had big walls surrounding it with guards patrolling on them, all the guards he saw were at least 5th stage Spirit Master.He needed to buy a map and also some bottles and milk to feed Felix. Revenge was the last thing on him mind, he wanted to find a safe place to raise Felix, that was his number one priority right now.

The sun was slowly rising and the first rays of light had barely illuminated the land. Maximus approached to city gate when one of the guards shouted at him.

"Who goes there!"

To make things move faster Maximus decided to use his aura to intimidate the guard at the entrance, this way he won't lose too much time on this city. After all the peoplewho were after Ben and Jenny may still be looking for him.

When the guard at the entrance felt the powerful aura coming from Maximus he was petrified from fear.

"I have business to take care inside" saidMaximus

"Yes Senior" said the guard with a trembling voice.

Maximus just nodded at him and went inside.

"Why did you let him go inside without even asking him for his identification?"

"Are you stupid, didn't you feel that Seniors power just now. He was at least a late stage Saint expert, even the captain would be his match if he was displeased he could kill me and the city Lord wouldn't even look into the matter, is best for us not to get involved with this kind of people." said the other guard.

Inside the city Maximus saw that all the stores were still closed, so he decided to find an inn to wait and wait little. Looking around he saw rather decent one, a three story tall building. He went in.

"Just a place to sit and some food, and also I need a bottle of milk for the baby"

Maximus followed the boy and sat in a corner. Five minutes latter the boy came with a bottle of milk and bowl of fish soup.

Maximus took Felix gently in his arms and started feeding her. He turned to the boy and asked "Where can I buy a map and provision" then he took a gold coin and put it on the table.

The boy's eyes were shining like the sun when he saw the gold coin. In couldn't be helped after all his salary for a full month of work was just 10 gold coins.

In the world of Deorum money was divided into gold coins, silver coins and bronze coins.

100 bronze coins were 1 silver coin and 10 silver coins were 1 gold coin.

A piece of bread for example was somewhere between 30 and 40 bronze coins.

"Is Sir is looking to buy the best map possible then you should go to the Adventurer Guild, there you can even buy in at a discount, depending on your rank."

Maximus didn't even know this world had an Adventurer Guild, after all he spent all his time home and then with his Master. He truly was ignorant about the world.

"Explain this Adventurer Guild thing." said Maximus.

The boy was surprised that this customer didn't know something that was common knowledge, so he started to explain.

"The Adventurer Guild was first founded as a merchant company by the Empire so that goods could be exchanged faster, but then it started to evolve fast, as time passed it also started to accept missions and do jobs that people asked them in exchange for a compensation, then more and more people wanted to join so it transformed in what is today. The rank that the Guild gives goes from F all the way to SS, depending on your power."

Maximus could't help but to think about the movies he saw on earth about stuff like this.

"Only people that join can buy things from them?"

"No Sir, there is a saying "If you give the Adventurer Guild enough money there is nothing you can't buy", most of the people join them because this way they can buy things with a discount"

"Take me there and I will give you another one" then Maximus waved his hand and another gold coin appeared on the table.

"Yes Sir" the boy bowed and left to tell his boy that he had to leave for little.

The boy guided Maximus to the Adventurer Guild. It was big building made using some kind of black brick, it was 5 story tall, it was built in the half-circle shapeand each floor got smaller than the last one. It had a big wooden door with the image of a person holding a sword and a shield.

Maximus went in. Inside was big space with chairs and tables, on the left side was big board with all sort of requests and on the right side were the receptions desks. There weren't a lot of people inside,but when Maximus entered all eyes turned to look at him.

He ignored them and walked to the reception.

"Good morning Sir, how can I help you?" from behind the desk came the voice of middle-aged woman.

"I want to buy a detailed map and some provisions."

"What kind of map do you want Sir?"

"What kind of maps do you have?"

"We have maps of the city, the different provinces and even of the entire world."

"How much if for the map of the province?"

"Different provinces have different prices. The price of the Phoenix province that we are in now is of 2 000 gold coins" said the middle-aged woman.

"Give me the map of the Phoenix province and also some baby milk."

"Then that will be a total of 2 005 gold coins"

Maximus took a bag with 2 000 gold coins and 50 silver coins from his ring.

"You can wait here for a little someone will come and deliver the map and the milk"

Maximus sat down in a corner and waited for just a little while and a boy came with a barrel of milk and his map.

After he left one of the people who was inside whispered "That guy looks a lot like the person the Phoenix clan is looking for, if we can catch him and deliver him to them then we won't have to risk our lives anymore"

"Are you crazy, even and Elder from the Phoenix clan had to run from him" said another man.

"We all are at the middle stage of Saint realm and the Boss is a late stage, if we sneak attack him there shouldn't be any problem" said a woman.

"Where is the Boss?"

"He should be coming back."

"If we take to long we will lose track of him. I think the best thing to do is to send Tony to follow him, and we will wait for Boss to come than we will rush after you" said the woman.

"Then is settled, Tony you follow him and leave a track for us to follow"

"OK" said Tony a small bold old man.

Maximus had no idea that the Phoenix clan had put a bounty on him, he was just worried about Cross and his clan.
