[KYLE POV]
I had gotten out through the window just in time. Just after I was on the fire escape I heard EZ come inside the room and ask if he had heard me in there. Thank the Goddess that he didn't catch me. I didn't want to suffer those consequences.
I hurried about to the house I was staying in for the night after that close call. I was, in fact, staying in the house that EZ used to have on his parent's estate. That way I would already be where I needed to be for the wedding tomorrow.
An argument could have been made that Jacy should have stayed here since EZ was going to get her ready here in the morning anyway, but he said she needed to stay in the condo because it was closer to where they had been going for her impromptu bachelorette party.
I had a supposed bachelor party as well. It basically consisted of Bastian, Laremy, and Winston having drinks while we talked about the threat that Jacy's cousin posed toward us. It was already July the thirtieth, the wedding being on the thirty-first. And if the vision that Jacy had had twice was true then Victor was coming for us sometime right before the baby was born.
I was hoping that we could change that time line just a little bit; make it so that the baby was here and safe before he showed up. I didn't want Jacy to fight when she was that far along, hence the strategy meeting that I had insisted on during my party.
None of my guests appreciated my party because of the serious talk, and the fact that I wasn't drinking. I told them though, I wasn't drinking because Jacy couldn't. It didn't matter that she wasn't here with me or not.I wasn't going to have any until she could as well.
Oh well, that party was over now, and I was climbing back into my temporary room through the window. I had less than twelve hours now until I said I do and married my mate. I couldn't be happier about it. I loved that woman more than she could possibly know.
I flopped onto the bed that I was using and thought about Jacy and everything that was amazing about her. The list was quite long. I wonder if she knew how much I loved about her?
When the morning came, I got up and made myself a quick little breakfast in the kitchen of the house I was staying in. Following that, I showered and dried as thoroughly as I could. My short hair was trimmed, since that was all I could do to it. Then it was time for me to get dressed.
My tuxedo for the wedding was of course black but the accent colors were chosen with my sexy little she-wolf in mind. The vest silver, an actual shimmering silver. The tie and pocket square were both the same shade of dark red as Jacy's leather jacket. I would match my bride as best as I could.
The closer it got to the start of the wedding the more work I had to do. I worked with Laurell and Bechard to check that the seats were prepared for the ceremony and the reception. We checked on the caterers that were using the large kitchen in the main house. We double checked the cake that Jacy had picked out. We walked around and made sure that all the odds and ends were in place and that we didn't need to scramble for anything last minute.
Once we knew that the wedding itself was all set, it was time to greet the guests. Most of them didn't know me, except for the few that were from my pack. I had invited Winston and Jazmine of course. They were my family, and they were already here for the parties last night. Baxter came as well, as a friend and extra security. He brought his team along with him: Jaron, Rollins, Chafer, Shepherd, and Toren.
Other than them, I invited half a dozen high powered members of the pack that I trusted. Again it was for them to celebrate with us, and to be here in case something were to happen. Zack, Eagan, Orion, Maxwell, Sylvester, and Julius were men that I had trusted since I was a boy, the same as Baxter and the others. Now, on top of Winston and Jazmine, I had a dozen strong pack warriors.
Counting Jacy and myself, there were fifty guests for the wedding. This meant that approximately sixty percent of the guests were from EZ's family and friend pool. That was a little unsettling to be honest. They were going to be humans, and there were a lot of things that could go wrong today.
We just had to deal with it though. Like right now, I just had to put on a fake smile and get through things, such as introducing myself to dozens of people I didn't know. I kept hearing the same words over and over again. It was making all the introductions run together.
"Oh, Laurell, Bechard, you are looking so amazing." Kisses.
"Oh thank you. [insert the name of that random relative here, since there had been so many I forgot them all]."
"Who is this? Is this the groom? You know when you practically adopted that girl when she was already grown. I never thought she would get married, ever." At this point my blood would boil, but I kept a smile plastered on my face.
"Oh, we knew that she would do just fine. She is an amazing girl." Bechard would smile and assure them that they needn't have worried.
"I just hope you didn't use your money to pay for this wedding for her. You know, she's just been after your money this whole time."
"Ahem." That is when I would interrupt. "Actually, I paid for this wedding myself, but thank you for your concern." My evil glare usually made them run to their seat at that point.
OK, I admit, it wasn't everyone that showed up who acted like that when it came to my Jacy, but the ones that did pissed me off so much that it was all I could focus on. There were quite a few people who seemed genuinely happy for me and Jacy. At least some of them accepted her wholeheartedly.
Winston was standing up for me as my best man, and of course EZ was walking the aisle as Jacy's Maid of Honor. I had thoroughly prepared my cousin for this ahead of time. He thought it was funny and promised to make sure that he did his job properly, even though he had to escort the guard chihuahua down the aisle to his spot near the altar. He also found the description of EZ as a guard chihuahua funny as hell and couldn't wait to meet him.
Everyone that I knew, even EZ's mates and Jacy's friends, were seated on my side of the aisle. It ended up becoming a wedding where the Horne family was on one side and everyone else was on the other, regardless of who they were there for.
The chatter was beginning to die down, and I knew it was almost time for the wedding to start. Couldn't wait for it to start. I wanted to marry this woman more than anything in my life.
The music started. It wasn't on a piano, but it was the wedding march. It was actually a recording of the wedding march done on electric guitar. That was much more my Jacy's style.
EZ's little nephew came down the aisle first with a small pillow in his hands. He was the ring bearer and looked cute in his little tux. It made me wonder what my kid was going to look like. Following the nephew, EZ's niece came walking slowly down the aisle as she sprinkled the flower petals and stood on her side of the altar. Next, Winston came walking down the aisle with EZ. He was doing it properly like he had said he would. He had EZ's hand wrapped around his arm and was walking just as if he were with a woman.
Winston wore a Tux that was practically identical to mine only his tie and pocket square were silver and the vest was red. EZ had done exactly what I pictured he would do when I had imagined marrying Jacy in the first place. He was wearing a bright pink tuxedo with black lapels, a black vest, a white shirt, and a bright pink tie. When I saw Bastian and Laremy they also matched my vision. Laremy, the vampire was dressed almost all in black, the tux, shirt, and shoes that is. However his vest, tie, and pocket square were pink. Bastian was the same way, only white. White tux, white shirt, white shoes, pink tie, pink vest, and pink pocket square. They did their best to match their mate, who was also matching them as best as he could.
The music shifted, it was time for Jacy to come walking down the aisle. At first, I had thought that Bechard, being a father figure to Jacy, would walk her down the aisle. That wasn't the case though. Nope, Lucian was the one who was standing there beside her when she started to walk toward me.
I could tell she was nervous too. I don't know why, but she was. I would do my best to make those nerves go away forever.
