[KYLE POV]
Oh Goddess, she was gorgeous! She didn't look like her typical self, but that didn't mean that she wasn't still there. I saw that stubborn set to her jaw, and the set of her shoulders that told me that she was in charge, and no one would ever take that away from her.
I saw the sexy motorcycle boots that I had grown so used to seeing and that tight leather jacket that looked like pure sex on her. She may not wear dresses often, but this one was made for her, and you could tell. The red and black accents were splashes of color that made her just pop. And the way that it was cut emphasized the ampleness of her breasts, even before she got pregnant, and then the low hem helped to show off those killer legs of hers, and I mean that literally. She had legs that were gorgeous, yes that was true, but she could also kill someone with those legs if she wanted to.
She didn't look like a frilly little doll that needed to be dressed up. No, my Jacy was coming at me with a heart full of power and determination. She was going to show them all how perfect she was, and I was going to show them all how lucky I was because I was the one who was marrying her.
When Lucian and Jacy got to the front of the altar Bechard spoke out, as the one officiating the wedding for us.
"Welcome friends and family. We are here to celebrate a most joyous occasion. My pseudo daughter, as EZ likes to call her, is getting married. Jacy and Kyle have come to love each other deeply and sincerely. And as a result of their deep love for each other, they now desire to unite their lives and establish a home together.
Bechard paused and took a deep breath before continuing.
"Who presents this woman to be married to this man?" There was a smile on his face and in his voice, that's how happy he sounded.
"I do, Ellucian Leight. I am like a brother to the bride and see her as the family I never had, but always wanted." That even touched my heart. I was glad I had a good relationship with him so far, he was another person that was important to my mate.
"Thank you."
Lucian went to sit down then, with misty eyes and a smile on his face. After that, Bechard continued the ceremony.
"Marriage is a gift, it's a miracle. I know that both of you already know some of the great blessings marriage has to offer. It is an opportunity to feel the joy of taking care of someone you love and who takes care of you; it is a chance to be challenged towards steady growth, yet gently nurtured so you do not fail; it is a place to love deeply and receive an equal love in return. Marriage is about trust, marriage is about friendship and having a partner to share all life has to offer. It is a commitment to grow together and to understand and forgive when you need to. Marriage is not a place to hide from the world or your problems, it is a safe place to grow together and become wiser with each other. It is a place to challenge each other to become better people with each other. Marriage isn't about being perfect from the start; marriage is about becoming the kind of perfect that each of you need over time."
Bechard was putting his all into this. I could tell that he had been planning what he would say for Jacy in this situation for a long time, and I was glad that his words were making her smile.
"Kyle, repeat after me." I prepared myself with a smile, ready to say what it was that I needed to. "I Kyle, take you Jacy to be my wife,"
"I Kyle, take you Jacy to be my wife," I repeated the words and he continued on.
"to laugh with you in joy, to grieve with you in sorrow, to grow with you in love."
"to laugh with you in joy, to grieve with you in sorrow, to grow with you in love."
"I vow to love you, respect you, support you, encourage you, trust you, be faithful to you,"
"I vow to love you, respect you, support you, encourage you, trust you, be faithful to you,"
"and be open and honest with you with all my heart and soul for all the days of my life."
"and be open and honest with you with all my heart and soul for all the days of my life."
"In a token of my love and devotion, I place this ring on your finger." I took the ring from Walker's little pillow and slid it onto Jacy's finger as I repeated the words.
"In a token of my love and devotion, I place this ring on your finger." Over and over I repeated his words with a smile on my face.
"Now, Jacy, please repeat after me." She looked nervous but she was smiling nonetheless. "I..I Jacy, take y..you Kyle to be m..my husband," She repeated the words, but she sounded a little shaky.
"to laugh with you in joy, to grieve with you in sorrow, to grow with you in love."
"t..to laugh with you in j..joy, to grieve with y..you in s..sorrow, to g..grow with you i..in l..love." Bechard continued despite her shakiness.
"I vow to love you, respect you, support you, encourage you, trust you, be faithful to you,"
"I..I vow to l..love you, respect y..you, support you, e..encourage you, t..trust you, be f..faithful to you,"
"and be open and honest with you with all my heart and soul for all the days of my life."
"and b..be open and honest w..with you with all m..my heart and soul f..for all the days of m..my life."
"In a token of my love and devotion, I place this ring on your finger."
"I..in a token o..of my love and d..devotion, I place th..this ring on your f..finger." She slid the ring onto my finger as well, and I felt like I was somehow whole. She had been nervous, but she made it through and smiled when it was done.
"With the exchanging of vows and rings you have pledged to spend your lives with each other forevermore. With the power vested in me, and with every ounce of happiness within me, I now pronounce you, husband and wife. Kyle, you may now kiss your bride." Bechard was crying when he said these words, and I leaned forward to lift the small veil that partially hid Jacy's face.
Slowly, I slid a hand around her neck and pressed my lips against hers. I wanted it to be a chaste kiss, something that would be appropriate in front of so many people, but that just wasn't our style.
Spectators or not, I kissed her like I meant it. I slid my tongue into her mouth and tilted her head for a better angle. After a few seconds, I pulled away, not wanting to make the attendees too uncomfortable. They would, however, know that there was a lot of passion in our relationship even if they never saw us again.
"Friends and family, may I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Donovan."
I was officially married to my mate. This was so far the happiest day of my life. Taking her hand, I walked her down the aisle between the people that we knew on either side. The guests that were in attendance had been given bags of biodegradable confetti and as we walked past they all started to throw large handfuls at us.
The colorful paper rained down on and stuck in our hair and on our clothes, but I have to admit that it made it all look like a real celebration, and I was extremely happy. Nothing and no one was going to be allowed to ruin my mood right now. I wouldn't allow it. If Jacy's cousin tried to ruin my good day, I would just kill him on the spot.
It was time for the reception now, time for the food, the dancing, the celebrations that lasted all night long. And right now all I wanted to do was continue celebrating our wedding. I wanted to dance with my wife. I wanted to cut the cake with my wife. I wanted to start this next part of my life with my wife. Oh, that was nice to say. I have a wife. She is my wife now, and we would soon be a family of three. What else could I ask for now except a healthy and happy baby?
