2 Filling Out The Forums

The head master showed up and announced, "From next week on wards, start preparing yourself for the Annual Sports Competition. Please fill out the forums that will be given to you in some time. The top three winners will represent our college in competitions with other colleges." This was enough to bring joy to Emily, who had been dreaming to take sports as a career for her in future, but her parents wanted her to take a popular professional job. That is why she has been reluctant to tell her feelings to her parents as she really wants them to be happy.

Except for a few, the other posh girls showed no interest, however, the boys were all clapping and cheering. And so was Emily. After the assembly ended everyone started to disperse into their classes. "Linda, this has to be the best news since college started! Now I will be able to shine!" Emily couldn't control her emotions.

Ivy heard her and found another chance to tear her dreams apart. She calmly put her arms around Linda and said proudly, "Are you sure you want to let your friend do this? I mean, just look at her, I don't think she even works out. Besides, she is a girl, she isn't strong enough to do sports, and moreover, she'll just decrease her grades! How pathetic."

Saying this she went away quietly. Linda at first thought that she is just saying it because of jealousy, however, when she thought of it, she couldn't help but say, "Emily, please re-consider you decision. I think that Ivy must be right. It is not just a little event, it will take a lot of your time and energy. Plus, what if you get hurt, or something? What if…" Emily couldn't take any more of it and interrupted her by arguing, "Linda, relax! It is my dream, I can't let go of such a big opportunity. My grades won't be affected, anyway. And I can't believe you just listened to Ivy at once!"

Linda was surprised and confused. She didn't know what to say. She felt a little guilty, but she was still concerned for her.

They went back to class. It was their math class. How awful to study math early in the morning, everyone thought. Hazel threw a ball of paper at the back of Linda's head, as she turned to see the cause, they two girls were whispering to her, "Emily is gone." These words were few but it meant an awful lot, she understood that the two wanted to stop Emily from participating in the sports competition. But she tried and Emily didn't listen, now there is nothing any one can do about it.

However, in the back, Ivy had plans of her own. "I can't believe that Linda is so dumb! She didn't even think twice before stopping her. I don't even care if she's into sports. Her grades will decrease any way, which is good enough for me right now." They both giggled.

The day went by rather quick and now it was their recess. The two headed towards the cafeteria and took a tray, filling it with food. "Emily, you better not eat junk if you want to stay healthy." Linda advised. Emily sighed and took some leafy vegetables. Linda asked again, "Emily do you go to the gym? If not, you better go and train yourself for the tough days ahead and…" She was interrupted by Emily, "Linda! Please stop it, you aren't helping me at all, in fact putting me in pressure! I am not a baby, I know what's good and bad for me."

Now Linda was feeling very guilty, she has not realized that as a friend she was supposed to help her, instead she listened to her enemies and tried to stop her, "Emily, I am so sorry, but I am really concerned for you, I can't get Ivy's words out of my head." Emily patted her on the back and said sympathetically, "Linda, look, I know you care for me, but right now all I want you to do is support me, ok?" Linda nodded and smiled wryly.

The two were now laughing and gossiping, planning what to do ahead. "Today is really a boring day! Isn't it?" Linda nodded. The bell rang and they sighed before going back to class. When they reached the class, a teacher was handing out the forums that were to be filled out. Emily high-fived Linda.

The forum asked for some basic information like, name, age, gender, parents names and their signature, the games in which you'd like to participate etc. Emily was reluctant and didn't want to show her parents this forum, but she needed parental approval. So she had to. The rest of the day was quick, and Emily was walking back home, thinking what her parents would say about this.
