Emily went through the essay pages while smiling from ear to ear. Her hard work paid off… Kind of. She then carefully put in in a clear file and tucked it in her bag. It was so well written. Oh! I have forgotten something. Emily thought and quickly took out the form from her bag. She filled out the basic information required and marked the games which she would be playing. It included:
1. Archery
2. Hurdle race
3. Relay
4. Cycling
5. Shooting
She was quite happy with her decision. She chose shooting as it was quite similar to archery, the only difference was that it had guns, artificial or real, it didn't matter to Emily. While she chose the races because she just had to run, but it isn't that easy when competing with professional players. Moreover, her time spent in the gym would really pay off. Then, she chose cycling because she used to cycle with her parents in the country side when she was little, that's why she wanted to take it a step further.
Emily leaned back on her chair and stretched her body, sighing in relief as if a heavy burden was lifted off her shoulders. Chris silently entered her room and peeked at the form neatly filled in front of Emily. "Hmm… Interesting!" He suddenly spoke out. "Ahh!" Emily yelped as she nearly fell from her chair. "When did you come in? And why didn't you knock?" Emily asked in a frenzy. Chris shrugged and replied charmingly, "You are my sweet little… Ahem… Elder sister. Why would I need permission to enter in her room?" Emily puffed but ignored him. "Which games did you chose?" She asked tilting her head.
"I thought you'd never ask!" He answered, taking out the form from his hands, which were kept behind his back all along. Emily blinked and snatched the paper out of his head. "Hmm… let me see. Hurdle race, shooting, 100m sprint, baseball and marathon. Interesting indeed." Emily read out loud, nodding her head. Chris raised his head high in pride by the rare compliment his sister gives him. "Whatever. Now you can leave my room. Bye-bye!" Emily got up and dragged him out and slamming the door. Chris pouted and went to his own bedroom.
After a lively dinner with her family, everyone went to bed.
Next morning, Emily woke up by the buzzing alarm sound. It was a cloudy Friday morning. Emily yawned and stretched for a while before getting ready, eating breakfast and going to college with Aiden… And also Chris. All along the way, both the boys became good friends and chatted about their topics of interest. Emily was quite pleased to see them getting along. When they reached college Emily and Aiden treaded towards the college building while Chris went towards the high school building.
It was English class first, so Linda and Aiden were together with Emily, along with Ivy and Hazel, unfortunately. They all submitted their essay. Linda glanced at Emily, who was sitting diagonally behind her, she was beaming and winked at Linda clearly indicating, thanks for the essay. Linda narrowed her eyes and pointed her eyes at Aiden, who was sitting beside Emily busy with his own stuff, not noticing their 'eye' conversations. Emily raised her eyebrows, Linda giggled, then looked at Ivy, who was sitting in the other corner of the room, looking at Emily and Aiden with immense jealousy. Emily peeked at Ivy, but Ivy quickly turned around, pretending nothing happened. They both chuckled and then went back to work.
Time passed slowly, but at least it just passed. The class was over and everyone dispersed in the hallway, grabbing their books for the next class. Linda quickly went towards Emily. "Hey! You remember your promise, right?" She asked nervously. Emily chortled, "Yes, yes, I do! We'll meet him in break." Linda squealed, hugged her and ran away jumping like a happy bunny. Emily smiled at her behavior.
Finally, it was break. Linda was already waiting outside Emily's class. Without saying anything, Emily started to tread somewhere. Linda followed, shaking in excitement. Come on, he is just a famous boy of the college, what is so special about that, Emily thought to herself, sneaking a glance at the girl behind her and laughing inside. After a short while, they reached the place where they were doing archery the day before. "Uhm, Emily? Are you sure Cyril is going to come here? Doesn't he practice after college?" Linda inquired. "Wait here." She responded and went further away.
Cyril was with his friends and heading towards the archery section. He saw Emily coming towards him, he smiled and greeted her pleasantly, "Hi, Emily! What brings you here?" "Hey, Cyril! I actually have a favor to ask." She replied, getting straight to the point. "Ah, sure. Anything."
"My best friend, Linda, eagerly wants to meet you. You are his idol." Emily winked. Cyril laughed and nodded, looking behind her. Seeing a girl at a distance. Her wavy ginger hair spread over her shoulders and her bright green eyes shining with excitement. So, he excused himself from his friends and went with Emily.
Seeing the two of them approaching her, Linda's heart started to beat incredibly faster.
