Linda started to jump in anticipation. Cyril went ahead and greeted her politely, stretching out his arm for a handshake, "Hello, Linda! I am Cyril. Haha, you might know me." Linda was practically shaking, her eyes open wide and staring him in disbelief. "Haha, don't worry, I am real!" He said, waiting for a handshake, which never came. Emily was standing behind Cyril, she indicated to shake hands with Cyril by acting it out using both her hands. "Ah, yes. I am sorry." She apologized and shook hands, finally.
"Hopefully, you'll get along well!" Emily winked from behind. "Oh, yes, we will!" Cyril replied. Linda was staring at her hands in bewilderment. "No need to be shocked Linda! I am just a student as you are. What's so special in that?" Cyril inquired. "N… No! You are very talented and intelligent, and…" Emily jumped from behind Linda and put her arm around her neck, "Yes, yes, whatever. Don't let her start about that topic, she'll just blabber all day!" Emily and Cyril laughed freely, while Linda only slightly giggled, shyly.
"I am sorry ladies, but my friends are waiting for me." Cyril excused himself. Then he turned to leave, but Linda suddenly asked, "Uhm… I was wondering that… Can I stay after college to see you play? Is it allowed?"
"Yes, yes! You can, I'd be glad to have you around. Maybe you could cheer for me. Haha! Bye now!" He then fled from the scene.
"Are you happy now?" Emily asked, laughing. "Yes! More than happy! Ah, Emily! You are my best friend!" The then hugged Emily tightly. "Ouch! That's actually nothing. You could have talked yourself as well." She stated and freed herself from her hug.
After Linda calmed down, they both turned to leave, when they saw a crowd of girls nearby. "Hmm… I wonder what the commotion is about." Emily whispered to herself. "You stay here. I'll find out!" Linda said and then disappeared into the crowd. Emily shrugged. Just as she left, Aiden popped up from behind, "Hey!" Emily jumped and turned around, scared. "Ah! Aiden!" She laughed and punched his shoulder. "Ow! So, what's going on over there?" He then asked. "I actually don't know either. Linda is gone to investigate."
The two of them then stood there in silence until they saw Linda running towards them, panting for breath. "Looks like some big news!" Aiden exclaimed. "Yes! Yes! It is!" Linda replied back. "First calm down, then talk." Emily advised. But Linda just started to speak, "Okay, so what is actually going on is that Ivy's dad has become the new manager of GCA press! And I don't know why everyone is trying to get on her good side so that they can become popular too. First her sister was the head girl, and now her dad is the manager of GCA press, so now, it's a win-win for Ivy."
By the time Linda was finished, Emily and Aiden were frowning. Can people could actually be so naive? No matter how good they would be to her, Ivy would never favor them. In fact, she would actually threaten them so that they would treat her like a queen. Oh no. The thought made Emily gulp. Right now no one realizes what Ivy can use this platform for, only Emily can guess what her next step could be. She didn't bother to think further and tried to calm herself down. Why does she care? It's just a college magazine… Which every student will read.
The three of them ignored the ruckus and chatted among themselves until break was over and they separated to their next classes. Emily could not get the fact out of her mind that it was Friday, and weekend was ahead, probably the magazines would start printing the next thing after college and be sold on Monday. She wondered what would be inside. Could she be avenging her? Or could she trying to further improve her image? At last, Emily pushed these thoughts aside.
It was now time for sports. Forms were being collected from the students who were participating in the competition. After that being done, everyone dispersed to change into their sports outfits. Since they had chosen which games they would be doing, everything was going smoothly. Every student was engaged in some activity.
Linda finally appeared in front of Emily. Oh… I forgot about that! Emily just remembered that Linda would be staying to see Cyril. They waved each other and Linda sat down on the bleachers, which was empty. Cyril soon appeared and also waved at Linda, then turned around to pick his materials for archery. Emily peeped at Linda, who was sitting with mixed emotions.
Emily laughed and picked her bow and quiver and stood beside Cyril. Today James was also practicing and not declaring points like a servant. In fact, today, an archery instructor was present, along with him two assistants who would announce the points to the students.
Emily casually took out an arrow from the quiver and placed in in the bow. Also recalling the instructions Cyril gave her. After a few seconds she let it go. The arrow whizzed across the field, piercing the air as it went, until it finally clung on to the target.
