Hecathe didn't mention anything about Zather telling him about her being this woman's daughter simply because he knew that it was a lie.
"I'm not saying anything," The landlady firmly responded without even bothering to meet Hecathe's eyes.
Hecathe nodded his head as he heard this, "To speak or not to speak is your own choice."
"..."
"But I hope you remember the deal that we had," Hecathe added with a small smirk, "My honesty comes with your honesty as well. If you're not honest with me, I'm not helping you anymore. As for what your relationship is with her, don't worry, I'm not letting go of this that easily. Ocasia is a small city and it is easy to find information on people."
"Hecathe, Ocasia is certainly a small city but some people in this city must never be messed around with," The landlady spoke firmly with a serious tone and Hecathe couldn't help but be a little amused by this response.
"Are you threatening me?" Hecathe asked with a small dry chuckle.
"I'm not threatening you. I'm warning you," The woman corrected him and Hecathe fell silent as he heard this.
It was certainly not every day that he got to see this woman be so calmly pissed off.
"She's not just my daughter," The landlady spoke and Hecathe could almost swear that he saw a hint of a smirk on her face.
Hecathe's lips curled up as he heard this and he leaned his head forward, resting his chin on his palm as he asked, "The more you speak, the more interested I get. Just who is this untouchable daughter that must never be found?"
The woman scoffed as she heard this question, "I'm not telling you even if you decide to leave this apartment."
Hecathe let out a small sigh as he nodded his head, "Not telling me? Is it because you don't want to or is it because you can't?"
"..."
"You know, I feel like I should change my question," Hecathe added with a small smile that almost looked wicked, "Instead of asking who the daughter is, I should be asking about her father, shouldn't I?"
The woman flinched as she heard this and didn't dare meet Hecathe's eyes.
"Since you're so terrified of him, I suppose it is not just a common man...?" Hecathe tilted his head as he asked but he was clearly not looking to get an answer from the woman.
The Landlady suddenly slammed her hands on the table and stood up from the chair. She was clearly angry but more than the anger, Hecathe could notice another emotion and it was worry.
It looked like Hecathe had hit the nail right on its head. The daughter was not the person he was supposed to be looking for, it was the father.
Zather had also said something along these lines. The father was the one to be feared and he wasn't a person who could be lightly revealed.
This only made Hecathe want to reveal the identity of the unknown man even more.
After all, it was always more fun to do things that you were normally told not to do and in this case, since everyone was warning him not to look for the girl's father, that was exactly what he was going to do.
This was not related to Alphius nor was it related to Orgon or Asgarian and hence, Hecathe felt no sense of duty towards finding the man, however, his sense of curiosity was enough to drive him.
Even if he was wasting his time trying to solve this mystery, he felt as if by the end of it, he would at least gain some personal satisfaction knowing that he was able to find the answer to the question.
"Hecathe, I do not care what you do but if you cause me trouble then you are not allowed to live in this apartment anymore," The landlady spoke firmly as she met Hecathe's eyes.
"..."
It seemed that this was the end of the conversation.
With a sigh, Hecathe stood up from his place, "Then I guess we can call it a day. I'll be heading up to my room now. I don't really wish to be thrown out of the apartment."
The man smiled and didn't bother saying anything further as he took his leave and went up the stairs.
The landlady glared at his back till he was out of sight and the worry could clearly be seen in her face with her eyebrows creased together and her lips frowning a little.
As Hecathe walked up the stairs, he couldn't help but feel a little amused as he realized something. The woman refused to reveal the identity of her daughter and the father. She even went as far as to warn Hecathe about searching for their identity, however, she never stopped him.
She told him not to cause trouble for her but she never told him to not look for the two people.
This meant that Hecathe was right. She was not keeping it a secret because she wanted to, she was keeping it a secret because she had to.
When Hecathe opened the door, he was greeted by the Dorgon that was taking a nap on the ceiling of the room, hanging upside down like a bat.
"Why are you smiling like that?" The Dorgon asked as he got down from the ceiling and looked at Hecathe.
"It's nothing," Hecathe shrugged it off and changed the topic as he asked, "How are you doing?"
The Dorgon looked to be a bit surprised and cautiously stepped back as he asked, "What is up with you?"
"Eh? Something is up with me?" Hecathe asked back as he innocently tilted his head.
The Dorgon bobbed his head up and down without any hesitation, "You never ask me that question. Something is definitely wrong with you."
Hecathe chuckled softly as he heard this, "So you're saying that I treat you bad?"
The Dorgon looked as if he wanted to nod his head and confirm this, but since the Dorgon was still wary of Hecathe, it was only natural that he made sure not to offend the man.
Thankfully enough, Hecathe wasn't waiting to hear an answer from the Dorgon so he continued with a sigh, "In any case, it looks like I won't be able to tease you anymore. Our days together are drawing closer to their end."
Once Asgarian was caught and Hecathe is sent back to his world, it would be impossible for him to meet this Dorgon again.
However, the Dorgon seemed to have thought something else entirely as he heard Hecathe, "You're going to throw me away?!"
"..."
"Or are you planning on selling me...?!" It looked as if the Dorgon felt a little betrayed as he asked anxiously.
Hecathe clicked his tongue and shook his head as he cleared the misunderstanding, "It's nothing like that. You are already two months old now. Didn't you plan on paying me back for saving you from that auction house?"
The Dorgon gulped as he heard this and had a bad feeling in his stomach as he waited to hear Hecathe continue.
"It looks it's finally time to start training you," Hecathe added with a small and the bad feeling in the Dorgon's stomach only grew as he heard this.
"T-Training?" The poor creature repeated with worry.
Hecathe nodded his head with a thin smile, "If you want to pay me back for saving you, don't you think you need a bit of training?"
The Dorgon didn't really trust Hecathe so asked, "Can't I just pay you back in money?"
Hecathe found these words a bit funny as he tilted his head and asked, "Do you have that much money with you? Not only do you have to pay me 10 billion for saving you but you'd also have to pay me for all the food that I fed you and also the rent since I let you live in this room."
"..." The Dorgon felt a little wronged as he heard this.
"Don't worry, the training wouldn't be hard for you. In fact, we'll be training together so if you are suffering, I'll be suffering with you."
Oddly enough, that latter part was rather convincing and the innocent Dorgon agreed.
However, how was the naive creature supposed to know the hidden truths behind Hecathe's words?
He said they would be suffering together... But it was clearly just the Dorgon that was suffering!
The so-called training session was basically Hecathe forcing the Dorgon to fly with him sitting on top.
When he said he was going to suffer together with the Dorgon, this was certainly not what the Dorgon had imagined...
"Master, why are we doing this?!" The Dorgon questioned as he flapped his wings and flew even higher above the clouds.
"Because we are going to be doing this again next week and that is not going to be a practice."
"Eh?" The Dorgon was a little confused to hear this, but he wasn't stupid and so, he asked, "Master, what the hell did you get yourself into this time?!"
Hecathe couldn't help but chuckle as he heard this.
