Chapter 186 - Where The Hell Did He Go?!

A mutant dragged his tongue across Hecathe's face as it woke the man up with a lick.

"What the-?" Hecathe opened his eyes in confusion as he looked at the creature in disgust and questioned, "Did you just lick me?"

The mutant nodded its head as it confidently confirmed and it told Hecathe about the missing Dorgon that had stolen Hecathe's cloak.

Hecathe's eyebrows creased together as he heard this and he looked around in confusion as he took a few minutes to completely wake his mind up.

Just as he started coming to his senses, it hit him that there was a huge Dorgon missing along with his cloak.

He immediately jolted up and gulped in shock as he helplessly looked around before coming to the conclusion that the Dorgon had taken the cloak and disappeared.

"Where the hell did he go?" Hecathe anxiously asked the mutant that had woken him up and the mutant sighed as he spoke and told Hecathe about how the dorgon had turned himself into a human child and went out to explore the city.

"...."

Hecathe didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this, nor did he know if he was supposed to believe something as ridiculous as this or not.

Hecathe rubbed his forehead as he sighed and didn't bother saying anything for a few minutes.

All the mutants had woken up by now and were looking at Hecathe with great interest as if they were expecting an order from the man.

However, unexpectedly enough, Hecathe only gave them one order.

"All of you stay in here and don't even think about following me out," Hecathe sighed as he ordered and even the mutants looked to be a little surprised as they heard this.

Hecathe put on his mask once again and since the cloak had already been stolen, he had no other choice but to go out without it.

He headed for the bustling main part of the city and there, he saw many people walking by, however, none of them looked like a kid and since Hecathe was sure that the Dorgon had disguised himself as a kid, it was a bit easier to search for him.

Not many children would be out at this time of the night and so, if there was a kid roaming the city alone, Hecathe could very well conclude that it would be the Dorgon.

Hecathe was a man who preferred to work smart instead of hard and hence, instead of blindly searching around in the city, he went to different people and asked around.

Although Hecathe had not seen the dorgon as a child, he could very well guess what he looked like and it seemed that his explanation of the child's characteristics was pretty much on point.

"Have you seen a small two feet kid running around alone while wearing weird clothes made out of high-quality fabric?"

The shop owner looked at Hecathe with a shocked expression as she took a few minutes to think about it.

"Well... I suppose I have..."

Hecathe was almost about to sigh in relief as he heard this but then the woman continued as she added.

"But then again, I suppose I haven't. There are a lot of children running around, how can you ask me to remember a single child with such a small description."

"..." Hecathe was more than sure that there were not really that many children running around.

"I guess I can remember him if I tried, but then why would I go through that much trouble?" It looked like the woman was questioning herself as she spoke and waved her hands in front of her face, "No way, I'd do something that troublesome for a stranger. I also have to make a living."

Hecathe sighed as he rolled his eyes and took out a few crisp Lenix and asked, "Would this be enough to make you remember?"

"Ah! Young man, you should have brought this out sooner!~" The woman sang as she happily snatched the money first and beamed, "Now that I think about it, I did see such a child. I guess he went into that restaurant."

The woman pointed at a particular restaurant that was just on the opposite side of the street.

"When was this?" Hecathe asked strictly as he looked at the man with a small frown.

"Well, I don't really keep track of time but-"

Hecathe once again took out another thousand Lenix and the woman immediately changed her expression once again as she gave the answer.

"He was there just half an hour ago and then left the place soon enough," She snatched the money and spoke with a wide smile.

By now, Hecathe had already understood how to interact with this lady so he took out another thousand Lenix and gave it as he asked, "Where did he go after that?"

"He was taken away by a big mecha-suit."

Handing over another thousand Lenix, Hecathe asked, "Where did the mecha-suit take him?"

"That way," The woman pointed at a particular street but in the very next moment, she changed her mind and pointed at another street as she spoke, "Or maybe that way...?"

Hecathe clicked his tongue as he took out a ten thousand Lenix note and changed it over, "Can you be more precise?"

The woman smiled happily as she took the money and nodded her head, "Now that I think about it, I'm sure that it was that way. There are not a lot of mages going there so you have to be careful. I heard that the inn down there was completely booked by those mecha-suits."

Hecathe sighed in relief as he heard this and nodded his head as he thanked the woman before leaving her small shop.

It was a good thing that the Dorgon was found by a mecha-suit... At least, that was what Hecathe had originally thought, however, after a few minutes, he wondered if the mecha-suits would be able to figure out the Dorgon's real identity.

Hecathe was sure that those people won't hurt an innocent child but he was unsure whether the same could be said about a Dorgon or not.

Hecathe picked up his pace and head down the street that was a bit darker due to the street lamp that had a fused bulb.

At the end of the street, there was a single inn that was fully lit up and looked more lively than the whole street combined.

On the front door of the inn, there were two mech-suits who seemed to be guarding the place and this was more than enough for Hecathe to conclude that he had come to the right place.

Hecathe took a sharp breath in as he unhesitantly took a step forward and started walking towards the inn.

The mecha-suits didn't look to be fazed by his presence but they didn't let him in either.

As soon as he was close enough to the door, they immediately lowered their Zelium guns and blocked the way.

"Who are you?" One of them asked as he looked down at Hecathe.

Hecathe smirked as he looked up at the guard and questioned back, "Shouldn't the question be the other way around? Who do you think you are to stop me?"

Both the guards lowered their heads a little and seemed to be glaring at Hecathe as they heard this.

Hecathe sighed as he took off his mask and showed them his face as he politely asked, "Mind giving me some space?"

Both the guards took a huge step away from the door and bowed their heads as they stuttered and apologized in unison, "C-captain! Please forgive our rudeness! We were not able to recognize you!"

Hecathe let out a small chuckle as he heard this and put the mask back on his face as he shook his head and simply said nothing to the guards.

He opened the door and entered the inn, immediately becoming the center of attention.

The inn was completely filled with mecha-suits, just like the shopkeeper had warned and it seemed that the mecha-suits hadn't expected to see Hecathe today.

"I'm looking for my son!" Hecathe announced with a sigh as he internally cringed at his own words.

One of the mecha-suits stood up and walked over towards Hecathe as he repeated, "Your son?"

Hecathe nodded his head without any hesitation as he confirmed, "That's right. I seem to have lost my son and the kind lady from the little shop told me that one of your men took my son."

"And how can you prove that?" The mecha-suit asked with a scoff as he leaned down to Hecathe's level.

Hecathe chuckled softly as he sarcastically asked, "Do you want me to do a DNA test or something?"

"Proof that we took your son," The mecha-suit spoke seriously as he explained his question.

"Well, I guess I have no proof for that," Hecathe sighed as he shrugged his shoulders but then he took a minute and continued, "But there is something that I can use as proof."

The mecha-suit looked to be interested as he heard this and waited for Hecathe's so-called proof.
