83 Moving Away
The next day, after school, He Miao was about to go back to the Jing family house to pack her things when she unexpectedly saw Jing Yan at the door of her classroom.
“It’s on the way.” Seeing her come out, Jing Yan coldly spat out these words and then looked away.
Although there were few people in the Fragrance and Perfumes major, the news on the forum was still well-known. Even though no one could post anything about He Miao on the forum, her popularity only increased.
Now that Jing Yan had personally come to pick her up at the door of her class, many people were already looking in her direction. More and more people were gathering in the corridor, and no one was willing to go downstairs.
He Miao nodded slightly and followed Jing Yan down the stairs. The two of them walked in front of each other, with a distance between them. It was not until they got into the Jing family’s car that Jing Yan turned to look at her, his tone a little displeased. “Do you hate standing next to me?”
“Ah?” He Miao was thinking about what to eat with Xu Meng and Li Ming later. She was caught off guard by his question and was stunned for a moment before she reacted. She shook her head and replied, “No.”
Jing Yan turned to look out of the window without saying anything. He pursed his lips into a straight line and clenched his hands on his knees.
In the past, He Miao had always stuck to him, and whenever she saw him, she would be like a dog seeing a bone, so clingy that he was annoyed.
Now though, He Miao even kept a distance from him when he walked, as if she was afraid that others would misunderstand them. This made Jing Yan very unhappy.
When they arrived at the Jing family house, Jing Yan did not wait for her and went in first. He saw the stupid dog running around in the living room affectionately pouncing on him, and then he looked at He Miao, who would ignore him as long as he did not speak. Jing Yan instantly felt that the stupid dog was much more pleasing to the eye.
He picked up Onion and looked at He Miao coldly. “Grandpa isn’t back yet. Wait a while before you leave.”
He Miao nodded and looked at the excited Onion in his arms. Suddenly, a strange feeling crossed her heart.
When she was at the He family house, she had always kept Onion in her room and never let it out alone. There was only one time when Onion opened the door and sneaked out on its own. It was even severely injured by the servants.
Now, she was only a guest of the Jing family, but her Onion could run around freely in the villa. It did not have to stay in the room all day and did not have to worry about being beaten.
The difference between the two was like heaven and earth.
She could feel the Jing family’s kindness towards her, not only from Grandpa Jing, but also from Jing Yan, who always had a sour face in front of her.
She loved Onion as much as her life, but she was unexpectedly at ease in leaving it in Jing Yan’s care.
“Since you like dogs so much, why don’t you have one yourself?” He Miao took Onion back and stroked its fur as she looked up and asked curiously.
Jing Yan looked at the stupid dog that was being stroked by its owner and said with disdain, “It’s troublesome.”
He Miao chuckled. She suddenly thought of the original owner of the body who always chased after Jing Yan in the book. She could not help but shake her head. “So you also thought that I was troublesome in the past, right? Fortunately, we canceled our engagement, so you don’t have to be so troubled anymore.”
Jing Yan stared at her and pursed his lips. “Indeed.”
The atmosphere between the two of them became a little tense for no reason. He Miao sharply sensed that Jing Yan was in a bad mood. He thought that she had brought up the past and brought up some disgusting memories, so she tactfully shut his mouth and went back to her room to pack her things.
By the time Grandpa Jing returned, He Miao was already pushing her luggage out.
“Are you really leaving? I still want you to stay here for a while longer to have a good meal before you go.” Grandpa Jing took out a bank card and handed it to He Miao. “It’s not convenient to live alone. This is a gift from me. Take it and don’t be stingy with the money.”
“Grandpa, it’s okay. I have enough money.” He Miao stuffed the bank card back into the old man’s pocket and consoled him with a smile, ” Grandpa, have you forgotten? I just won 100000 Yuan!”
“Our Miaomiao is amazing.” Grandpa Jing smiled in relief and then pointed at Jing Yan. “Let him send you there. He can check if there’s any danger in your place. I can’t be at ease when a girl is alone.”
He Miao did not want to trouble Jing Yan and was about to refuse when she saw him impatiently pick up her luggage and throw it into the trunk. He then turned around and sat in the driver’s seat, not giving her a chance to refuse.
