84 Neighbor
Jing Yan parked the car at the building He Miao told him about.
Xu Meng heard the noise and stuck her head out of the window of Li Ming’s grandmother’s house. She saw Jing Yan at first glance and immediately said in surprise, “Goddess, your brother actually came to see you off personally!”
Li Ming called out to her from inside the house. She immediately shrank back and followed Li Ming downstairs to pick up He Miao.
He Miao and Li Ming’s grandmother lived on the third floor, which was not very high. He Miao wanted to carry her own luggage up, but Jing Yan held onto it tightly and glared at her indifferently. “I’m here. do you think you have the right to carry your luggage?”
He Miao awkwardly retracted her hand and held Onion tightly in her arms. She watched Jing Yan walk into the corridor without a word and followed him silently.
It would be a waste not to use the free labor!
Hurried footsteps came from upstairs. Xu Meng skipped down the stairs and met Jing Yan’s cold eyes. She stopped in her tracks and looked at He Miao helplessly.
However, Jing Yan’s line of sight went past Xu Meng and landed on Li Ming, who was standing on the steps.
The moment their eyes met, a trace of irritation flashed through the eyes of the two men.
Jing Yan, who was carrying his suitcase, stopped in his tracks and turned to look at He Miao. “Why is he here?”
“His grandmother’s family lives here too. We’ve made an appointment to have dinner together with the three of us.” He Miao explained with a smile, then walked up to take the suitcase for herself, but Jing Yan blocked her with his body.
Li Ming smiled with a pair of eyes that were as bright as the stars. the depths of his eyes were bright and shiny, with a bit of pride. “Yesterday, we helped Miaomiao clean her house. She specially wanted to thank us and cook for us personally tonight.”
The words “specially” and “personally” were heavily emphasized by Li Ming, and the atmosphere in the narrow corridor suddenly became tense.
Xu Meng stuck out her tongue at He Miao and was about to say something to break the awkwardness when a woman came down from upstairs and asked in surprise, “What are you guys doing here? How come I’ve never seen you before?”
“Auntie, I’m a new tenant who moved in on the third floor. These are my classmates.” He Miao smiled and greeted the neighbors she would be spending a lot of time with.
The woman’s line of sight swept across these people one by one and was instantly stunned. what kind of godly looks were these?
The two boys looked like celebrities who had just walked out of the television, especially the one carrying the suitcase. He looked like a domineering CEO who had walked out of a melodramatic novel that she had stayed up all night to read. His cold and distant temperament was fascinating.
The girl who had just spoken was so beautiful that people could not take their eyes off her. It was as if the female lead of a romance novel had come to the real world!
She realized that she had been staring at these people for a long time, so she coughed awkwardly and smiled. “I’ve never seen such a good-looking person before. You have to come to my house often in the future. I live upstairs, fourth floor, left door.”
“Sure, I’ll definitely visit you when I have the chance.” He Miao smiled politely and made way for the woman.
Jing Yan coldly turned to the side and waited for them to leave before picking up the suitcase again. When he passed by Li Ming, he snorted heavily.
When they entered He Miao’s new apartment, Jing Yan frowned in disgust. He put down the suitcase and looked at He Miao in confusion. “I’d rather live in the Jing family house than in this broken-down place.”
He Miao pouted, speechless. “What’s wrong with this house? Onion loves it.”
Jing Yan followed her gaze and saw the stupid dog running around in the room. It was even more lively than when it was at the Jing family house.
Outside, Li Ming had already come to ask He Miao to go to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for tonight’s dinner. Jing Yan stood still, staring at Onion without blinking.
He Miao thought about it and decided to remind him, “We’re going to have dinner. Aren’t you going back?”
Jing Yan suddenly turned his head and glared at her, his eyes full of grievance.
He Miao watched in a daze as he quickly collected his expression and she said in amusement, “Alright, stay for dinner. I have to thank you for your help today.”
Jing Yan snorted and walked around her to leave the room.
He Miao shook her head and closed the door tightly to prevent Onion from running around. Then, she grabbed the keys and left with him.
She suddenly realized that Jing Yan looked a little like Onion, who threw a tantrum at night. When he looked at her, his eyes were wet and he looked especially pitiful.
