'Bawk'
'Bawk'…
'Thud'
'F*ck'
'Ahh.'
'Pang.'
The sound of kicks, pouches, coughs, hisses, curses, and groans had started early in the morning which continued with the speed of the sun that moved from east to west until no one knew when it ended.

The full moon had arrived in the sky with the clouds passing in front of it, slowly and steadily. The stars stayed in their place providing light to the jungle beneath it.
"Hoooo…."
The hoots of the owls were heard every now and then however no one could be seen out in the darkness of the night.
The night seemed to be calm and peaceful. At least that was how Liu Juan had expected her night to go too along with a joyful one in the achievement of her freedom but who would have expected a betrayal from loved ones?
'Cough!'
'Cough!'
'Cough!'
Liu Juan spat out a mouthful of blood with the immense pain that sank in every cell of her body making her want to cry out. Unfortunately, her tears had dried out many years ago.
Her mind had turned numb as she didn't know where she was and in what stage she was in. She just remembered that both the brothers came towards her and started beating her.
Still, she didn't back down and continued to fight back till she could. However, a point had come where she couldn't fight back anymore and taking the advantage of that point, the brothers had beaten her up to the point that she thought that now that once she closed her eyes, she wouldn't open them ever again.
However, the wretched life didn't stop following her.
Here, she was again in pain.
Liu Juan didn't want to open her eyes, but the agonizing pain was eating her up to the point it forced her to open her eyes, making her groan in pain. When she slowly forced her eyes to open, darkness came in front of her with the faint light of the moon shining in through a small window.
She blinked her eyelids painfully in confusion as she tried to remember where she was. She carefully noted her surroundings as she tried to jog her memory if she had ever been in that place ever before. However, no such memory came to her mind.
"You… You are awake?" She jolted in fear suddenly when she heard someone stutter from beside her.
Liu Juan moved her neck a little in the direction from where the voice had come. Her body was lying paralyzed on the ground where even moving a finger was causing her to be in great pain. Her clothes were torn with only a few tatters of her earlier clothing covered in blood and dust remained behind.
The cold air of the dark and silent night blew over her clothless body, sending shivers down her spine as she trembled uncontrollably.
Her condition was looking far worse than a beggar.
The person beside her wasn't in a much better condition either compared to her.
"So...They didn't kill you...as well."
Bo Xiao was also lying on the ground, beaten to the point of no return, of course. Nothing less would be expected from Xin Chao when he came to take revenge. So it would be quite surprising if Xin Chao had left Bo Xiao with just a few scars on his body.
"It seems...Ahh... that I am still useful to them." Bo Xiao g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain when he spoke as moving even a single muscle of his face was a painful task for him.
"Perhaps...I shouldn't have dragged you into my plan of achieving my freedom...you would be in a better condition then…" Liu Juan said in a muffled voice. Her breathing was shallow as if any moment, her breaths would cease to nothing.
"Cough...Urgh...you couldn't have avoided that possibility because it was all his plan and we did exactly what a pawn would do. He planned all this thing." Bo Xiao knew that it was neither his nor Liu Juan's fault for the situation they were in right now.
"Your betrayal as well?" Liu Juan asked as she still didn't forget and perhaps, she would never forget his betrayal.

Perhaps...if he didn't betray her, things would have been different.
Since Bo Xiao had woken up after being beaten to a pulp by Xin Chao, his mind had somewhat cleared off by now despite his body being covered in dirt and his own blood.
The peace which he felt now, he had never felt something like that ever before. Seeing Liu Juan beside him, he knew that she wasn't much different from him, therefore, she would wake up eventually.
Thus, since the time he had woken up until a few minutes ago, his thoughts were all constantly roaming around the name 'Liu Juan'.
From the time she came back with their boss up till now, he reminisced everything. Every little thing about her which he had noticed before was roaming in his mind making a little smile appear on his face along with the pain in his eyes.
Now that they were both in this situation, now that they were devoid of any distractions, he finally felt so serene and at peace beside her despite being in pain that he realized that he didn't just like her…
He loved her.
Seeing her here with him, his heart ached badly as if a hundred needles were digging into his heart.
Again the thought hit in his mind, that perhaps...perhaps...if he didn't betray her, things would have been different.
However, all the things had already happened and now there was nothing left but perhaps…
Though there was darkness everywhere, through the faint light of the moon, Liu Juan could see a dull pain in his eyes which made her wonder, was he regretting his decision for betraying her?.
And then he uttered the words which shocked her to the core. "I love you."
