Chapter 278 - Confess to her(Part-1)

"Dr. Zhou, what is the meaning of this? You told us to scare the lady, then why did this man come over to beat us?" The first man asked, disgruntled over the whole chain of events.

"Yes, you must give us an explanation and compensate us for this." The third man snapped.

The second man was not even in a position to say a word. One look at these men, and everyone could get afraid at the sight of Mo Jiang.

They were actors and they earned money using their faces but Mo Jiang had almost disfigured their faces.

It was not that they were working with Zhou Xuiye for the first time but this time, they were truly disappointed with whatever game she had planned.

"I am sorry for what you have suffered but you don't have to worry, I will make sure that you get the complete treatment and I will compensate you heavily." Zhou Xuiye assured them with a look of guilt.

She had not only lied to Mo Jiang but also to these men.

Mo Jiang's anger somehow suppressed hearing those men and Zhou Xuiye's conversation. He had chosen Zhou Xuiye because he knew that she would die rather than betray him. However, when he saw that Liu Juan was going through the same pain she had suffered in the past, he lost his rationality and rushed here. 

But now it seemed that Zhou Xuiye had planned something different from what she had said to him. He narrowed his eyes at her and asked, "What did you exactly plan?"

Seeing that Mo Jiang came back to being rational, Zhou Xuiye sighed in relief. Otherwise, she would have died before treating Liu Juan completely.

She was never scared of him but now she was.

"Leave him and take these men away." Zhou Xuiye said to the staff men.

The staff men gave a second look towards Mo Jiang to check whether he was really calm enough to talk to Zhou Xuiye or if he was just faking it.

After a few moments of scrutiny, the staff men released Mo Jiang and took the other men out as Zhou Xuiye had ordered

Zhou Xuiye sat on the couch with the help of Mary, while Mo Jiang went to check on Liu Juan.

"Don't worry, she has just passed out." Zhou Xuiye said to Mo Jiang and gave a look to Mary to leave but Mary ignored her look and continued to stand there.

There was no way Mary would leave Zhou Xuiye alone with Mo Jiang.

Zhou Xuiye felt warm in her heart. Although she didn't have a family,  she still had someone who cared for her.

"Tell me now." Mo Jiang sat opposite her and added, "The complete truth."

"This treatment is called exposure therapy where we expose the fear of a patient in a safe environment. Liu Juan's fear is her past. Initially, I thought if we show care towards Liu Juan, she would get ready to tell about her past but this didn't happen. So, I changed my plan to threaten her that if she won't speak, she would lose the people who care for her. However, there are high chances that patients refuse to fight back against these threats and they go into depression. Liu Juan did the same." Zhou Xuiye paused to take a sip of water and continued further. "So I planned ahead and I thought to repeat all the things that happened in her past. That's why, I asked you about her past."

"Then, why didn't you tell me that these men were just scaring her off?" Mo Jiang sternly asked.

"Those men were actors but you are not. If I had told you all about  my true plan, would you become as angry as you were actually? Tell me!" Zhou Xuiye snarled.

Instantly Mo Jiang turned quiet.

"I want to give assurance to Liu Juan that she is not alone anymore. She has you, her husband. So there is nothing to be afraid of her past anymore. Now, I am telling you. I need your help. When Liu Juan wakes up, you ask her about her past. If she tells you everything. Great! Otherwise…"

Zhou Xuiye didn't continue further and stood up to walk out, followed by Mary.

Mo Jiang didn't say anything further as well but he looked guilty seeing the marks on Zhou Xuiye's neck.

Whatever she did was to help Liu Juan and in return, what did he do to her?

He sighed and his sight went to Liu Juan's petite figure. His heart sank more seeing her messy condition.

Her face was stained with tears; her hair and clothes were messed up and she had turned so slim that one look and one could tell that only bones were left in her body.

The room was not in a good condition also.

He immediately asked someone to change the room. He also wiped her body with a wet towel and changed her clothes himself, even though they had never been intimate before.

When he saw the scars on her body, a lump formed on his throat. Some were so badly mangled,  just like her right leg was. 

Perhaps, because of these scars, she wasn't able to forget her past.

After that, he slept beside her and then he realized how much he had missed her.

Her absence ignited a flame of her importance in his heart.

Liu Juan didn't remember when she had last slept so peacefully. Previously there were many nightmares that haunted her life but now those nightmares had vanished and beautiful dreams had come in.

Her dreamland was the place where she was not alone. She had her husband, Mo Jiang now. The dreams where she was not suffering anymore but enjoying her blissful life, just like the way she had been enjoying during the first few days when she came to stay in Amora's Mansion.

In fact, now she had been enjoying more than she had experienced before.

These dreams were so alluring that Liu Juan didn't want to wake up and that is exactly what she did.

Therefore, two days had passed and she still hadn't woken up.
