Chapter 325 - Skeletons (Part-2)

Mo Jinnan led the way, with Michael trailing behind.

Mo Jinnan began removing the spiderweb with his hands.

"It seems that no one has come it ever," Michael whispered but it was loud enough that his voice echoed back. The passage was dusty and smelled strongly of pigment.

Mo Jinnan narrowed his eyes at Michael's words. It was very unusual not to use this passage but there were high chances that no one had known about it.

The smell of pigment had become so unbearable that they had to close their noses as they moved forward.

"Stay behind me," Michael said and walked first, inside the villa.

They had no idea in which part of the villa they were.

Michael learned that Liu Juan lived in this villa before relocating to Europe. This villa was part of Bo Xiao's estate. Bo Xiao was the one who attempted to form his gang in Country X, but no one knew where he was after the blast in Juan's villa.

"What the hell!" He overheard Michael's exclamation.

They soon entered the hall, which was filled with deadly silence and darkness. It made them irritated.

'Something isn't right here.' Mo Jinnan thought to himself.

He moved the torch around to see what caught his eye, which caused his eyes to widen.

"What the hell is going on?" He overheard Michael's exclamation.

Mo Jinnan's heart skipped a beat when he saw what Michael was pointing out.

The skeletons were piled up near the wall. The clothes they were wearing were covered in dust and had bloodstains on them.

The scene was gruesome. They now knew where this pigment-like odor was coming from.

"If you look up, you'll find more." Michael looked up at the stairs where more bodies were kept, as Mo Jinnan said. They had decomposed and left nothing in their bodies, resulting in skeletons.

"Who could kill them?" Michael asked to which Mo Jinnan shrugged.

Mo Jinnan walked in front of the pile of skeletons and bent down to examined them. "They appeared to have died a long time ago. Perhaps a year or earlier." He came to a conclusion.

"Do you believe Lu Juan might be in one of them?" Michael inquired.

"Not sure. We need to check it." Mo Jinnan rose to his feet and stated.

Michael frowned at the thought to examine these rotted bodies but knowing that Si Li would not leave Song Tianxin unless he found out Lu Juan died or alive.

After that, they began to examine every body or skeleton. Because the face of the body was rotted, it was extremely difficult to locate her. Still, they were looking for any clue that would help them identify her.

"Did you find anything?" Michael walked away from the body released his breath which he had been holding up and asked. Even now he smelled like rotted making him have an urge to vomit at that instant.

"No. You?" Mo Jinnan replied as he came to stand in front of him.

Michael shook his head and suggested. "Let's go upstairs then.  I'm sure we'll find the bodies there as well."

He did not wait for Mo Jinnan's response before proceeding upstairs. Mo Jinnan naturally followed him and asked. "Do you think Markus had killed them?" 

They walked past through the bodies on the stairs. 

"Naturally, he should be the one but I don't sure why he had killed these people? These people worked for Bo Xiao and Lu Juan. And as far, you mentioned, it was Lu Juan who tried to kill Mo Jiang, correct?"

"Hm." Mo Jinnan hummed.

"Then it makes no sense for Markus to kill them," Michael concluded as they entered a room where they found no body.

"Do you mean there is another group who killed them?" Mo Jinnan asked as he checked the wardrobe.

"Perhaps but there are a lot of people out there who want to harm Markus," Michael said after checking the bathroom.

They continued to search each room. They discovered bodies in some of the rooms, but none of them appeared to be Lu Lan's.

As a result, they continued to search every corner of the room until they came to a halt in front of the master bedroom, which was larger than the others.

It was spotless, just like the others. Mo Jinnan entered to inspect the wardrobe, while Michael went to inspect the other part.

"I found nothing here. What about you?" Mo Jinnan asked abruptly, made Michael turn back in shock as he knocked off a photo frame.

"Nothing except... this," Michael said intriguingly. He bent down to look at the photo frame.

Michael turned it around to look. He could not help but curse. "Bloody hell!"

"What?" Mo Jinnan walked towards him to look at the photo frame.

His brow furrowed as soon as he saw the frame. "What the hell?"
