58 Chapter 58: She’s Cold And Merciless

Nathalia lowered her head to avoid showing the coldness in her eyes. Her voice quivered as if she had been shocked and hurt "No, it's not true. It's not true. Dad loves me."

The more upset Nathalia showed, the more excited Evette felt. Her eyes seemed to sparkle in hysteria.

"Naïve and stupid. Dad never cares about you. What he wants is the money you are inheriting."

It feels so good to see her defeat! Evette thought.

Nathalia acted like she couldn't accept the cruelty, and she covered her ears with her hands. She screamed, "No. No. No. Impossible! I don't believe you."

Evette screamed back in excitement. "You wait and see! Dad will surely stand at my side. I.. I am his favorite daughter! You are just a dumbass..."

A man's voice interrupted her, "Wow. What a surprise! I've never expected you like this. Disgusting." He looked at Evette.

A tall figure in a suit appeared from around the corner. The sun shone on him. His face glowed in the sunlight. He had a handsome face.

Nathalia was startled. She found him familiar-looking, but couldn't remember who it was.

Evette took a glance at his attire. Nothing special. She sneered and said, "Hey, who do you think you are? How dare you speak to me like that? Do you want to help this stupid bitch here? Hahaha…seriously?"

The man stared at him. He looked serious, and he said seriously, "I'm Matt Miller. I'm a prosecutor. You're charged with taking drugs and taking advantage of Tony Washington after drugging him."

"What?" Nathalia was dumbfounded.

Is she charged? Drugs?

Evette was as astonished. "Nonsense! Do you know who I am?!"

The seriousness remained on Matt's face. He answered, "Yes, I do. Evette Carter."

Then Nathalia remembered who it was. Spencer's brother? Half-brother? Anyway, someone from the Davidsons, the guy in the toilet last night.

But, what happened in the toilet later? Where did he go?

She couldn't remember.

A gasp came from behind the bushes. "My God. I've always adored you. You are like the goddess to me! But, what, what have you done?! Disgusting."

"That's horrid. You've tricked us!"

"Threesome! My god. Disgusting."

It was the boys, Evette's loyal admirers, or used to be.

They felt so disappointed and disgusted by her now.

"You guys…" Evette was shocked again and suddenly realized how Nathalia's demeanor changed a few minutes ago. She was trembling with anger. "How come you guys are here? Nathalia! You set me up again! You are so cunning and calculating."

The more upset Nathalia sounded, the more remorseful the boys felt. Adore her! Not anymore! Shes disgusting.

Evette's heart sank. She glared at Nathalia hatefully and clenched her fists in a fury. Then she struck, "Ahhhhh, Nathalia Carter, I hate you!"

As Evette was about to throw her fist at Nathalia, a hand grabbed her wrist. "Stop this nonsense."

Matt glared at Evette, his face cold and stern. Evette struggled, trying to free her hand from his grip, but it was useless. Tears filled her eyes, and she felt terribly wronged and unfair.

She looked at Nathalia with her teary eyes and said to Matt, "She set me up. Please, it's her that you should arrest, not me. I'm innocent." Then she turned her face towards Matt and set her eyes on him. She looked so pitiful that it could melt any man's cold heart.

The few guys felt sorry for her in spite of what she had done.

"Sir, she's just a girl. Please let her go."

"Yeah. Let's calm down and talk. Let her go, please."

They pleaded for her.

Nathalia couldn't help letting out a quiet giggle. The power of beauty. Hahaha. A pretty face talks indeed. How easily she can make the guys forget what she did. Well, like mother, like daughter. She's definitely learned a lot from her clever mother.

However, no matter what the boys said, Matt remained stern and strict. "Evette, Carter, please cooperate. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."

Evette was surprised to see that Matt wasn't affected by her charm at all. How is this possible?!

Spencer chose her over me. That was inexplicable. But it's Spencer Davidson. He's every girl's dream. Now this asshole, this nobody. How can he ignore my charm completely?! Is he a man? He must be gay!

Nathalia was also a little bit surprised by Matt's response. He seems to be someone special, but he's related to Spencer. I'd better keep my distance.

Matt nodded at Nathalia and dragged Evette away towards the school gate. Evette struggled and panicked. "No. No. No. Let go of me! I'm getting a lawyer. My parents won't forgive you."

The boys looked at each other and hesitated if they should do something. Then, two policemen came running towards them and then backed up.

Before they realized, a group of spectators had gathered around them. There were murmurs and sneers. Some were pointing at Evette, and some were looking at her in a strange and despiteful way.

Evette tried to think about what to do. Then she had it.

"Nathalia, how can you just watch them mistreat me and take me away. I'm your sister. How can you be so heartless?" She tried to make Nathalia look bad to the crowd.

Nathalia knew Evette wouldn't give up so easily, and she was prepared. Calmly, she replied, "Evette. I'm sorry, but the law is the law. I wish you didn't do what you do, you know, taking drugs and drugging others to, to, take advantage of them."

Do you want to play a game? Sure. I will play with you.

Evette's face froze, shocked. Instantly she defended, "No. That's not true! I didn't do it. It was a trap. You set me up! It's you..."

Tears rolling down her face, she looked terribly upset and pitiful. Her face was pleading for help and love.

The male spectators couldn't help wanting to help her. Their disgusting feeling towards her seemed to vanish all of a sudden, and they reproached Nathalia for being cold and heartless.

Even if they don't like each other, she should still at least help. Evette is her sister. She's so cold and merciless.
