80 Chapter 80: A Perfect Couple

Matt's heart ached. Softly he said, "You will get hurt."

Nathalia smiled, "To get hurt, to shed tears, to feel pain is also part of life, isn't it?" There were so many uncertainties in life. Her life seemed to be accompanied by pain, tears, betrayals, and harder than others'. She chose not to have regrets. That was her choice to live a life with no regrets. Live to laugh, to cry, to love, to hate, but have no regrets.

She hoped when she had to leave this world, and she could smile and tell herself that she had loved and lived, and there were no regrets in life.

There was a certain sentimental vibe in the air. Matt watched Nathalia's face, saw her determination, and felt the weight in his heart again.

"You are an odd girl, Nathalia, but Spencer is not the guy for you. He's not someone that you can spend your life with."

Matt had told himself to never interfere with anything related to Spencer, but once again, he did it. Why? Is it because she's so special? I'm losing control. I'm getting too involved.

Nathalia took a deep breath as if she needed it to assemble enough courage to voice herself. She said calmly, "Even if it's just for a short period of time, it's worth it."

Her resolution touched and even shocked Matt's heart. He felt emotional. "Nathalia." He said heavily. Is she crazy? Even though she knows it might not last, and she will end up getting hurt, she still chooses to be with him? Who is she? What is she made of?

Nathalia bit her lips, calmed the emotions inside her and smiled brightly, "Thanks for your concern. As long as Spencer wants to be with me, I will stay with him. I will be with him 'till I can't anymore."

When I love, I love the most I can. Even if it doesn't last, I will have no regrets.

The depth, the determination in her reply, hit Matt again. Frustrated, he said, almost shouting, "Even if it becomes a joke? You don't care how people talk?" This time he couldn't look at her in her eyes.

He was going crazy. He wasn't himself. Was it his fortune or bad luck meeting someone like Nathalia, who was so real and true?

Nathalia was startled by his sudden, raised voice. What's happened? Why is he so emotional?

"Life is short. Why care so much about what others think? As long as you are happy with your life, that's good, isn't it?" She said.

Nathalia's words were like water pouring down at the flames of his anger and frustration. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. Finally, he said, "If he leaves you one day, come to me. I will be waiting for you."

"Wait?" Nathalia muttered, shocked, and confused. What did he say? No, it's impossible. Why? Does he like me?

Nathalia suddenly grew nervous, and she clutched at the skirt of her dress. When did he get here? What has he heard?

Matt stood in between Nathalia and Spencer intentionally and replied without hesitation, "If you can't take care of her, I can and I will."

Spencer stared at Matt icily. "Perhaps you want to, but you aren't able to."

The two brothers stood staring at each other. The tension in the air was palpable. Nathalia bit her lips, worried. They are not going to fight, are they?

Just then, Sophie came back from the bathroom, timidly she said, "Nathalia, Spencer, it's, er...it's time. People are waiting..."

Spencer lifted his eyebrow, walked past Matt while still staring at him, and went towards Nathalia. He extended his hand out, "Come, babe, my sweet princess."

Nathalia watched his clean hand, and long slim fingers smiled and put her hand on it. Spencer held it tight as if someone would take her away from him. The couple walked out of the room, looking at each other, content in love.

Matt watched them leave without saying another word. His heart was heavy, and his face showed sadness.

"They are a good couple, aren't they?" Sophie asked tentatively. Matt was suddenly awoken by her question. He frowned, turned to look at Sophie, who was biting her lips, waiting nervously for an answer.

Matt remained silent, walked past Sophie, and left. Tears ran down Sophie's cheeks.

The guests had been waiting curiously. When the couple finally walked in, hand in hand, gazes fell on them, and praises were said. He was handsome and charming while she was stunning and elegant—a perfect couple.

Wow, I didn't know that the girl is so beautiful. She doesn't just look beautiful but carries an air of confidence and elegance. No wonder Spencer Davidson has chosen her.

The host was a well-known tycoon in the business field. The ceremony was simple and solemn. "Now you can exchange rings." the host said.

Sophie handed out a pair of rings. Spencer took one out of the box, held Nathalia's hand, looked her into her eyes lovingly, and gently placed the ring down her finger. It fit perfectly. The diamond sparkled in the light, and so were tears in Nathalia's eyes.

She felt her heart beating fast. The ring wrapped around her finger like happiness surrounded her. Even when she was getting married in her last life, she had not felt such joy.

Her hand was trembling slightly as she picked up the other ring. Is this what it's like to fall into love, to fall into happiness?

When she was about to put the ring on Spencer, a voice interrupted, "Wait. I disapprove of your marriage." Nathalia's hand froze. Another challenge to take? Another obstacle to overcome? She thought and worried.
