81 Chapter 81: She Behave Like A Little Girl

Spencer was surprised and delighted to see his mum. He quickly walked towards her to greet her, "Mum, how come you are here? Are you tired? Come take a seat." And he beckoned Nathalia, "Nathalia, come, this is my mum." His voice was soft and gentle, nothing like his usual cold and proud self. It was obvious that they loved each other.

The crowd was excited. Wow, so that's Mrs. Davidson. She's gorgeous. How come she never made an appearance? I've never seen her in any events. Spencer's mother had been one of the biggest mysteries in town.

Nathalia felt like a giant hand had just grabbed her heart and was holding it tight. She dragged herself forward and managed to meet Mrs. Davidson with a smile, "Mrs. Davidson, it's a pleasure to meet you finally."

However, Mrs. Davidson didn't even take a look at Nathalia as if she didn't even hear her or notice her existence. She held Spencer's hand and said resolutely, though her face looked innocent as a young girl, "Spencer, you can't marry her, or anyone else."

Nathalia's heart sank. The giant hand grabbed it tighter and dragged it down. It hurt.

Spencer knitted his brows. Who told her about it? Dad?

"Mum, please, don't be ridiculous. I will talk to you when we get home." Spencer said calmly.

Mrs. Davidson didn't seem to hear him either. She waved at the door, and a pretty young girl in a beige dress came in. Youthful and cheerful.

"Spencer, you see. Who's here?" It seemed like, to Mrs. Davidson, there were only the three of them, and no one else existed. Nathalia watched quietly. She was confused, curious, and somehow worried.

Spencer took a closer look at the girl and exclaimed in surprise, "Anna?"

Anne embraced Spencer with a beaming smile. Her eyes were filled with love and adoration. "Spencer, you see how much I've changed? I'm not the plump little girl anymore. I've grown and lost weight. I'm slim and pretty now, don't you think? I'm so glad you still remember me and recognize me. But Spencer, how can you marry someone else? You promised me you would marry me." She said with a clear tone, without any hesitation.

One could tell that she was an outgoing and extravert girl. She must be the spoiled one in the family as well to be able to say things so bold and straightforward.

"My silly Anna," Spencer looked at the youthful face lovingly, "I was a kid then. How can you take it seriously?"

Spencer was there when Anne was born, and he watched her grow up. She had always been like a little lamb following mum about. Though they were not blood relatives, he had always seen her as his younger sister and loved her dearly how his mother felt mattered to him the most.

"But a promise is a promise. I'm serious. However, I don't care if you have other women as long as you come home regularly and spend time with mum and me." Her youthful face and sweet smile were a huge contrast to the sophistication of the words she said.

Nathalia bit her lips and didn't know what to think or how she felt about it. Who's this girl that just appeared out of the blue? She seems to be close to Spencer and his mother.

Mrs. Davidson smiled proudly. "Spencer, you see how good Anna is to you? How can you break your promise to her?"

Spencer sighed deeply and forced a smile on his face. "Mum, you must be very tired after the flight. Let me take you to the room to have a rest." He said gently.

Steve quickly reacted and stepped forward to help, "Come, Mrs. Davidson, please allow me." He was about to take her hand, but Mrs. Davidson swept his hand away impatiently. Tears filled her eyes. She looked like a little girl who had just been rejected by a candy.

"I'm not tired. Spencer, why don't you listen to mum? You are everything to me." She sounded extremely upset, and tears rolled down her cheeks.

The crowd was shocked to see such a scene. She behaves, just like a little girl. Nothing like what I expect. She's Kurt Davidson's wife, Spencer Davidson's mother? Really?

A greater mystery Mrs. Davison turned out to be.

Spencer's heart ached. He wiped off her tears with his hand gently and comforted her in a soft tone, "Mum, don't cry. I'm always here for you. You will never lose me." It was as if he was speaking to an upset little girl other than his own mother.

An inexplicable fear slowly grew inside Nathalia as she watched the interaction between Spencer and his mother. It was like she was to lose the most precious thing to her, and there was nothing she could do about it. She could only watch it go.

Anna embraced Mrs. Davidson tight and comforted her, "Mummy, don't cry, please. Spencer cares about you the most, always. You are the most important person to him." How Anna was addressed, Mrs. Davidson would easily lead people to believe that she was her real daughter.

Her words somehow worked like magic, and Mrs. Davidson stopped crying like an automatic water tap switched off instantly.

It worried Spencer very much to see his mother cry. Anna always knows what to do. He sighed with relief. A gentle breeze caressed his back, and it felt cold. He realized he'd been sweating, and the back of his shirt was wet. To make his mother happy had always been very stressful and hard work for him.

Anna lifted up her chest and her little chin, looked at Spencer, and said confidently, "Spencer, for you, I'll lose weight, grow up and grow to be a beautiful lady. Please keep your promise."

These two have never changed. Every day, over ten years. Aren't they tired of it? Both innocent, living in their own world, and never growing up. But I have to protect them. They are the most precious to me. Spencer was at a loss and didn't know what to say.

Before he could react, Anna turned to look Nathalia up and down and said, "You can't separate Spencer and me. How much money do you want? I will pay for you." She said assertively. Nathalia wasn't anything close to a challenge to her.

Surely Spencer won't love anyone else. This is just a show—a show for his father. Anna was sure.

Nathalia found it ridiculous. What is this? What's going on? It made no sense to her, and she couldn't think logically; however, she was not defeated. "My man is not for sale. I can give him away if I don't want him anymore, but he's not for sale." She replied calmly and clearly.

Nathalia had again impressed the spectators. She's someone. Her confidence is invincible.

Spencer was impressed too. It looks like she's serious and angry. "Nathalia, I..." he was about to say something, but a voice interrupted him.

"Nathalia, you are coming home with me." It was Frank Carter. He rushed in and grabbed Nathalia's hand, trying to drag her away with him. It hurt Nathalia, and icily she said, "Dad! Let go of my hand. You are hurting me."
