107 Chapter 107: How Stupid Can You Be?

Having no response from Nathalia, Carlos then noticed the worried look on her face. He pretended to be upset and wiped the corner of his eyes with his hands, "Poor me. I'm so upset. Why is Nathalia not responding to my jokes at all?" In a begging tone, he said.

A pretty and smart girl. She's an excellent option for a girlfriend. Carlos thought, trying to get her attention.

Nathalia sighed helplessly. He doesn't give up, does he?

"Do you major in Drama?" Nathalia teased.

But Carlos didn't get it and was confused. "Pardon?"

People around started laughing. "Dumbass. I think what she means is that you talk too much."

Just then, there was a commotion at the gate. A well-dressed and beautiful girl walked in, followed by a group of fans and admirers. Nathalia was never a nosy person, so she sat herself down, got her Kindle out, and started reading as she waited, while others grew excited, and someone exclaimed, "Wow...it's Joanna! My god. She's coming towards us! Shit. I'm so excited!"

It started to annoy Nathalia as more excitement and more exclamation developed. She looked up to see Joanna Lytton in a deep v neck short dress, which revealed her curves. A diamond on her necklace sat in the middle of the V and sparkled in the sunlight.

With the young students gathering around her, she looked like a superstar. She had a small camera in her hand. It looked like she had come to interview someone, and someone seemed to be Nathalia.

All eyes were on Joanna, eyes that spoke adoration and admiration. She stopped in front of Nathalia, looking down at her, "Nathalia Carter."

She had not come with good intentions, but Carlos did not realize that. "Wow, Nathalia, you know Joanna Lytton? Please introduce me to her." He said enthusiastically.

Nathalia let out another helpless sigh. How stupid can you be?

But she ignored Carlos; instead, she casually put her Kindle in her bag and said to Joanna, "Who are you? Have we met before?"

Joanna was so furious that she couldn't pretend to be the usually elegant and perfect Joanna everyone adored. Her face twitched slightly. "Nathalia Carter, don't you pretend! I know what you did. Your father is still in a coma, and you have not even visited him once, have you?"

The crowd looked at each other, all puzzled. What's going on? These two are enemies? Her father is in a coma. It sounds serious.

Carlos was even more confused. "Nathalia, what happened? Is there some misunderstanding between you two? I know you are both wonderful people. Come on, let's forgive and forget."

Joanna raised her voice and announced, "Don't you know her? Nathalia Carter, the oldest daughter of the Carter. She is SOMEBODY. Her father is in a coma, and she now wants to rob her father of the company shares..."

The crowd gasped. Nathalia Carter! She is Nathalia Carter?! They had read and heard a lot of the legendary girl. Their first reaction was more of a surprise rather than disdain.

Nathalia didn't even care to look up at Joanna. She was invincible to the accusation. In a very indifferent tone, she said, "Those who think not spread rumors." Short and sharp.

Joanna lost her temper and yelled at Nathalia, "Huh, Nathalia Carter. Shame on you. Useless, selfish piece of shit. Queenland does not welcome you. You are in the wrong place." Her tone was harsh, and her words, rude and vulgar, unlike the usual refined Joanna she was or pretended to be.

Carlos was shocked to see the girl of his dreams behaving so. Wow, I've never seen her like this. She's not very nice, is she? And this new girl here. Is she really the daughter of the Carter, whom everyone's talking about? Couldn't have guessed it at all.

Nathalia pouted her lips a bit in a thoughtful look and said with confidence, "Are you in the right place to accuse me? And who are you to tell me Queenland does not welcome me?"

Joanna then realized she wasn't behaving herself, and people were watching. To not embarrass herself again, she managed to calm herself down, "You are sharp, aren't you? No wonder your step-mother and half-brother and sister are having a difficult time because of you."

As Joanna expected, the crowd started murmuring, sneering, pointing their fingers at Nathalia. A few guys even barked at her, accusing her as an ungrateful, nasty person. Joanna listened and watched in satisfaction. Aha. She must be feeling shit now. Hahaha.

However, to her surprise and disappointment, Nathalia didn't cry, yell, or even look a bit frustrated. She remained calm and said, Reporters ARE good at making up stories indeed."

She had learned to build a wall between herself and the rumors and nonsense. It was true that words could hurt badly, but only if the one who listened cared about it. I don't care, and thus it doesn't affect me. Your comments don't matter to me. So, Miss Lytton, I'm afraid you will be disappointed.

Talking to someone who offered no response made the crowd feel like fools, and they soon lost interest.

Joanna stared in disbelief. What's wrong with her? Everyone's accusing her. How can she look so calm? "Don't you try to deny it. You think that you have the support from someone, so you can do whatever you want." She sounded bitter and didn't want to admit the name of the 'someone'.

Nathalia understood straightaway. She smiled and teased, "You wish you had the support from SOMEONE, don't you? Oh...poor thing." She didn't talk much, but when she did, she said it the best.

Joanna was raging. "Shut up!" she yelled. Her face was red with anger. The crowd didn't quite understand and watched in shock, wondering why she is so angry?

Nathalia glanced at her casually and indifferently, and she said, "If I were you, I would watch how I behaved in front of so many people. You are a reporter, aren't you? It's not a good idea to leave a bad impression on people."

Then, Nathalia seemed to realize something suddenly, and she stared at Joanna as if she had just discovered something shocking, "By the way, why are you so interested in the Carter business? Am I guessing you will get some benefit out of it? A certain amount of shares, perhaps?" She challenged her.

That's impossible. Joanna is not someone that would do such a thing. And she has nothing to do with the Carter. Carlos thought.

Someone from the crowd came up with something and shouted, "Perhaps she has something to do with the family, specifically Mr. Carter, then it will make sense why she is interested. Haha.

The spectators looked at each other, astonished. So that's the truth!

Rumors about these families never ended.

For those boys that had been adoring and dreaming about Joanna, it was a shock to them.

Joanna herself was taken aback by how the situation changed completely. Helplessly, she said, "Nathalia Carter, I will sue you for defaming me."

"Go ahead," Nathalia replied instantly. It was just an idea that came to her mind, and she had not expected it would work out so well. People are too good at making things up with their imagination.
