118 Chapter 118: Someone Was Helping Her Behind

Ann wasn't looking very good. A few wrinkles seemed to have crawled on to her face since the court case. She dared not venture out, but stayed in the house and sulked.

"Honey, what shall we do? Please think of a solution. Or we can pay some money to sort it out?"

Frank threw an impatient glance at her. "It's not that simple."

It was a big deal this time, with too many things and people involved. Meanwhile, someone was helping Nathalia behind the scene. It wasn't something that money could sort out this time, at least not in a short time.

Anger was brewing inside Ann. The more she thought about it, the madder she grew.

"It was that devil's fault. We raised her up. We fed her, and now what did she do to us?!" Ann grumped.

Frank sat down heavily on the sofa, rubbed his eyebrows, and said, "You are to blame. You can't even take care of one little girl."

Tears filled Ann's eyes. "But what else could I have done. She's too calculating. She's been pretending all these years, and you didn't notice either."

She played you like a fool. Ann thought but dared not voice it.

Frank would normally be comforting her, but this time, his mind was in a mess himself, and he wasn't in the mood of sweet talks.

"Ann, how..." Frank snapped.

Then Evette, who had been seated quietly, came up with an idea and said, "Mum, Dad, please don't argue. I have an idea."

"Tell us." Frank was excited. Finally, she's not too stupid, after all.

Evette whispered something to her parents. Ann was surprised and doubtful, "Are you sure it will work?"

However, Frank said simply, "Do it. Be careful."

Evette smiled pleasantly, "Will do, dad. I won't let you down."

The news flooded in. It was in the headlines every day. The whole world was filled with excitement.

However, Nathalia, the one involved, was not affected by it at all. She went on living her normal life, going to classes, doing what she should do. Her aloofness and tough heart filtered the accusations and comments from the outside world.

There was only limited time, and she had a lot to do. She had no time to waste on other stuff.

Nathalia had just parked her car. As soon as she got out of the car, someone came up to her.

A delicate figure with a stern and sulking face. "Nathalia Carter, let's talk."

It took Nathalia by surprise. It's her! Anna, the girl that showed up at the wedding.

"What's there to talk about between you and me?" Nathalia retorted.

Anna didn't even try to explain anything, but simply said, "go abroad. Leave Miami and never come back." She demanded as if she was speaking to one of her housemaids, asking them to do some house chores.

Nathalia wasn't angry but found it rather funny, "What?"

Anna knitted her eyebrows and stared at Nathalia gloomily. She looked Nathalia up and down and couldn't find anything pleasant about her. But why does Spencer love her so much?

"You know what, I can buy you an island. I can give you unlimited money to spend as long as you promise me to leave here and never come back, never see Spencer again."

Ever since Anna was born, everything was taken care of for her. She had never learned to see the value of money and always thought that every problem could be fixed by money. Fortunately, she had never had bad intentions or thoughts of killing.

Nathalia had a mixed feeling about Anna. "If I were you, I would not be so silly."

If a man doesn't love you, it doesn't matter how good he is. It means nothing. Trying to keep something that doesn't belong to you is a waste of time and meaningless.

"Are you saying no to me?" Anna's face turned red. She was angry. She had compromised herself to come to talk to Nathalia, but she wasn't expecting 'no' as an answer. "With money, you can do anything you want. You can choose any man you like. You can have everything, and you will be very happy..."

Nathalia interrupted her casually, "What about you? Are you happy?"

The question stabbed Anna's heart like a sharp knife. It hurt. "I, I just want to be with Spencer. I can give you all my money to exchange Spencer." She could not live without him and see him being close to someone else would kill her.

Nathalia frowned. Her face turned stern. She reprimanded, "Money is important, but it's not everything. Also, Spencer is not an item. He's not for sale or exchange." Why do they all think that money can buy anything?

Anna panicked for a bit, and she sounded less demanding but even nervous, "I don't mean that. I really love Spencer. I want to be with him, be his wife, be the mother of his children..."

Seeing Anna's sincere face, Nathalia could feel that she was truly in love with Spencer. She loved him so much that she had to have him. However, it wasn't her business.

"What has it got to do with me? We broke up a long time ago." Nathalia said indifferently.

Tears filled Anna's eyes. It's true that they have separated, and it was because of me, but ever since then, Spencer has never smiled at me. He doesn't care for me anymore. He's become so cold.

It hurt her tremendously to see him like that.

"As long as you are here, he only sees you. I can only have him when you disappear." She revealed her feelings and thoughts completely. Ever since she could remember, her goal was to marry Spencer.

Nathalia wanted to laugh but felt helpless at the same time. I guess only those that grew up spoiled could be so self-indulgent, so careless because they know that no matter what happens, there's someone to take care of it for them.

She had to admit that she didn't like them much.

"He and I broke up, and it's impossible for us to be together again. What do you worry about? If you can't make him fall in love with you, then I suggest you give up." It was a pure suggestion. However, it sounded different to Anna. Her look changed. She glared at Nathalia and shouted, "No! I love him. As long as you leave, he will love me!" She had forgotten that in the past fifteen years or so, Spencer had never fallen in love with her. What made her so confident?

Nathalia realized there was no point in talking to someone like Anna. Too self-centered.

"Sorry, I still have my life to live. I've got a lot of stuff to do. I won't change for anyone. Please leave and don't come to me again. I don't like you."

Anna's eyes grew cold. Her bodyguard snapped, "Huh, you asked for it!"
