121 Chapter 121: What A Move

To his surprise, Spencer simply glanced at him, coldly with disdain and contempt. What's that look? Why is he looking at me like that? Frank started to worry a bit.

Then, Spencer dialed a number with his mobile, and he demanded his assistant, "Bradley, spread the news. I'm buying Carter's Company." His voice was cold and threatening.

He didn't need to explain or argue. If he could not get what he wanted, then the only way was to get rid of it all.

On hearing what Spencer said, Frank almost fainted.

What a move!

As soon as people heard the news, Carter's Company would be a popular target in the market straight away. There was no doubt about it. Knowing that Spencer Davidson intended to buy the Carter's Company, all the experienced businesses and companies would get involved, and Carter's Company would be in no position to defend itself.

With cold sweat dripping down his pale face, Frank shook his hands frantically, "No, please. Don't. Mr. Spencer Davidson. I didn't do it. It's not me." He's too sharp. He didn't even allow me to explain and just fucking sentenced me guilty.

Spencer wasn't to argue or to waste his time. A sneer appeared on his face, and he said icily, "If she doesn't come back safe, then I will make the Carter's Company disappear with her. I believe she will like the idea."

This is her will, and I will complete it for her.

It wasn't a request or an explanation, but a simple notice—a simple and scary one. Frank shivered in terror.

"But it doesn't make sense. It's unfair." Frank said feebly.

Spencer definitely meant what he said. He wasn't threatening Frank. He was just telling him about the consequence.

Spencer stared at him, icily as if he was looking at a useless dead body. "What doesn't make sense? Youd better pray she comes back safe, or the Carter's Company will be gone, as well as your whole family, including your dearest son."

She wanted revenge on her own without depending on others. It was her pride. And it was a must for her. The only way to free herself, to let go of the past, was to get revenge so that she could live again like a normal person with no hate.

He understood it very well; hence, he was letting her do it her way, trying not to interfere. However, if she did not live anymore, what was there to care about? Kill them all. Let them all go to hell. Destroy them all, then myself, and join her.

His face said self-mockery and disdain. He threw one last glance at Frank with a sneer and turned around to leave. Frank hurried after him, "Please, Mr. Spencer Davidson. Let me explain."

He was blocked by the bodyguard and could only watch Spencer leave. He almost freaked out, thinking about what might happen to his company and his son. Finally, he shouted, "Mr. Spencer Davidson, I might know who did it."

"Tell me." Spencer paused, but he didn't turn around. His tone was fearsome.

Frank wiped off the sweat on his forehead with his hands, thinking for a few seconds and said, "It could be someone close to you."

Spencer's heart sank, worried that he might guess who it was, but he retorted sternly, "Don't bullshit me. I don't have much patience."

What the hell is he? He's terrifying. Frank could not ignore the threat in Spencer's words, but he hesitated and asked, "What about Carter's Company now?"

Is he trying to negotiate with me? Spencer suddenly turned around, glared at Frank, and said, "As long as she comes back safe, I will spare your company, but if not..." He stopped there and left Frank to imagine the consequences.

Frank gave in helplessly, "Don't you think your fiancée is suspicious?"

Spencer was taken aback. "Anna?" He said. Anna was not his fiancée, but she had been living in his house with his mother. It was the main reason why he didn't want to go home.

Frank had intended to make Anna take all the responsibilities. "Yes. You know what jealousy can do to people, especially women."

Spencer walked out of the gate, leaving the car behind. Frank stood there, took a look at the car, then the gate, wondering, I can't believe he did this just for that little devil. It looks like he is serious about her. But she and I can't exist at the same time. What can I do? Shit.

"Dad, you shouldn't have told him," Evette said, annoyed. She'd been hiding by the door, watching. My gosh, Spencer's so charming. I adore him. Even his car is so cool.

Frank understood straight away what his daughter was thinking about, seeing the sparkles in her eyes. Yes, you are beautiful. But it's useless. He's not into you at all.

"What should I do then? Just give up the company? You don't know him. He's terrifying."

As a matter of fact, the Davidson Group, or to be exact, Spencer Davidson himself, was even better known internationally, especially in Europe. The company in Miami was just one of the many branches. Spencer was known for his cruel and extreme strategies.

He used to stay abroad often and wasn't as well known in the States as abroad. Also, somehow, he had become softer and milder since he came back, or let's say, he had acted more like a normal businessman. Thus, most people had the impression that he was just a rich and protected young man.

They were wrong.

Spencer had a nickname called the lonely wolf, which implied his cruelty and extremeness when necessary.

The more Evette thought of Spencer, the more she wanted him. "Then, I will find a way to ask him. Everyone knows how beautiful I am. I can use my charm."

God knew where Evette got her confidence. Again she tried, and again she failed, but she still believed that someday Spencer would get down on his knees before her.

Her confidence was great, and so was her dreams, but reality spoke differently. Spencer had not even cared to take a look at her once, let alone falling in love with her.

Frank couldn't understand either. Evette was way better looking than Nathalia, but why did he treat Nathalia so differently? Why?

"Don't be silly. He doesn't lack beautiful women. If anything happens again, we won't be able to help you." Frank warned her.
