122 Chapter 122: I Just Wan

As usual, Anna sat with Spencer's mother by the fire after dinner, but she seemed somehow absent-minded tonight. Even Spencer's mother noticed the difference. She asked worriedly, "Anna, are you alright? Shall I call the doctor?"

Her son was away most of the time and rarely had time for her. Fortunately, she had Anna to accompany her.

Anna forced a smile and said, "No. It's ok. I'm fine. I missed Spencer too much and couldn't sleep last night, so I'm a bit tired." I wonder how it went. I hope they sorted it nicely. Spencer shouldn't know. I hope.

Mrs. Davidson patted Anna on her face, affectionately. I see. Don't worry. Spencer's too busy now. When he has time, I will ask him to take us for a trip." Men are always men, taking too much responsibility. He's busy, and what can I do about it.

Anna kept telling herself that things were ok to calm herself down. "That sounds wonderful. I look forward to it."

Just then, a housemaid came in with a smile on her face. "Mrs. Davidson, Mr. Spencer Davidson, is home."

Excited, Mrs. Davidson quickly went out to meet Spencer. She had missed him a lot. However, Anna panicked. Normally she would be excited to see Spencer, but this time she wondered why Spencer came back at this hour.

Spencer stormed in, saw Anna, grabbed her arm, and yelled, "Anna, what did you do to Nathalia? Where is she?"

Seeing her grow up and have treated her like his younger sister, Spencer had always thought she was just spoiled, but a good girl still. He had never expected she would be so cruel. It seems everyone's changed. They seem so strange to me now. Scarily strange.

Anna's heart was racing, her face turned pale, and she stuttered, "Spencer, what do you mean? I don't understand..."

She had never lied to Spencer, nor was she good at lying.

Extremely disappointed, Spencer thought she's not the innocent girl I used to know anymore.

"Don't wink when you lie. You haven't learned how to lie yet. Tell me, where is she?" He was almost screaming.

Mrs. Davidson was taken aback. Though unsure what was going on, she was naturally protective of Anna. "Spencer, why are you shouting? She's your fiancée. You should love her and be gentle..."

Spencer frowned, struggled to hide his anger, and he waved his hand, demanding, "Take Mrs. Davidson to her room."

Like an innocent girl, Mrs. Davidson opened her eyes wide, confused. "Spencer, what's the matter?"

Anna stood still, frightened.

It took Mrs. Davidson a while to realize what was happening. Just before she was dragged out of the door, she suddenly turned around and yelled, "No. Let go of me. I'm not leaving."

Spencer smiled and spoke in a gentle and assuring tone, "Mum, I just want some private time with Anna." Seeing his smile, Mrs. Davidson was pleased, thinking ah, That's a good thing. They should have some private time together.

Anna was terribly worried, but she dared not stop Mrs. Davidson. As soon as his mother left, Spencer's smile disappeared. He glared at Anna, "Tell me, where is she?"

Anna had never seen Spencer so furious. She was so terrified that tears ran down her cheeks, and she started sobbing.

"Spencer, she has nothing to do with you. It doesn't matter if she lives or dies..." Anna refused to give in. I won't tell you. You two will never see each other again. I don't allow it.

The word "die" stabbed Spencer's heart like a sharp knife. His face turned pale as he couldn't bear the thought of Nathalia dying. He shook Anna's shoulders frantically and shouted, "If anything happens to her, I won't forgive anyone who hurts her, including you, including myself."

Anna's shoulders hurt, but her heart was hurting more. She stared at Spencer, tears in her eyes, wondering why he cared so much about that girl.

"She's been sent away. Give up. Spencer. Even if you kill me, I won't tell you." Anna rejected. She was born spoiled and loved. Her lips pouted, her eyes wide open, she kept her mouth shut. You are mine. You only belong to me. No one can take you away from me.

Spencer gazed at Anna for a few seconds, then suddenly, he picked up the knife on the table and sliced a cut on his neck. Blood oozed out.

It totally shocked Anna as she screamed, "Ah. No. No. Please. Spencer. Put the knife down. Help!"

The servants were scared too. They looked at each other, uncertain of what to do.

My gosh. Why did he do this? Why?

With the knife on his neck still, Spencer seemed calm and determined, "Tell me!" he demanded again.

Anna was more shocked and angry than upset. "You even threaten me with your own life for her. Are you mad?!"

You used to only care about your mother and me. Now you've turned mad for a girl and forgot the love we've had for so many years. Anna found it difficult to breathe, her heart aching. It felt like the whole world just tumbled down. How can he be so cruel to me? The man I've loved all the time.

There was only coldness on his face. Without hesitation, Spencer cut himself again.

"No. No. Spencer. Please don't." Anna screamed. She closed her eyes, too scared to watch.

I just want to love you. Why are you doing this to me? Is she really that important to you? More important than your own life?
